it's 50-50. starting to pull even.~
Still four days left. This battle is going to be legendary.
And feel that whoever wins it will win it all. For either show, beating Dexter won't be that hard, not with the insane fan bases they have.
GILLIAN WANTS TO WIN!

Ugh that's an awful awful commercial. Is this how NBC promotes there shows? I mean, if I didn't watch Community I would have no idea what this episode was about or the show for that matter.
I miss classy editing. Not just IN YOUR FACE! THIS IS A SPECIAL EPISODE BECAUSE PEOPLE DRESS UP AS PULP FICTION CHARACTERS! If it wasn't for NBC's little description of the episode, I wouldn't know anything, haha!
Cool, I like the sound of this episode's theme. I wonder if Shirley will get the "BE COO' YOLANDA!" line.

You serious?
Damn, every time it ties up, Chuck fans swarm out, and we end up back down by one.

Okay aside from it having to do with Pulp Fiction. Can you tell me the plot of the episode, from that commercial.

Somebody doesn't know how commercials work.
How else do you think people got roped into seeing the WORST Family Guy episode ever made?
"There, the episode on why Atheism is great and religion is for losers is done. But we can't advertise this part of the episode. I know! Let's get the entire cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, put them in a few scenes, and focus all the commercials on that!"
the hulu contest sure is interesting, I didn't even heard about Chuck until the contest started, and I really didn't expect it to have such a large and dedicated fanbase.
I'm also surprised at how popular Community became. It always seemed to me like Arrested Development, a show that is highly acclaimed to be great, but for some reason it just isn't as popular as the other junk that airs around the same time.
Yet it got a third season and its doing good against chucks crazy fans.
Can't wait to see what ratings Community while get outside of the USA, especially in europe.

There's is a complete difference between; Effective and Good commercials/trailers.
I look at the entertainment media as a medium for story telling. Commercials and Trailers should (and lot of times don't) follow a story structure. An Effective trailer might get people to see it, doesn't mean its of quality.
Same damn thing with movies, movies like Sucker Punch or Transformers people love to see mindless substantialness movies, their successful but they are no where near good.
Also don't kid yourself, 80% of the episodes of Family Guy can be classed under the worst episode ever. People who watch Family Guy don't go to it for substance, they go into for the writing that's so bad, that in case you didn't get the joke in the dialogue that'll tell you it again by showing it visually.
Regardless, that promo was awful. Hell even Youtubers, know it. Look at the comments. Its misleading, its insulting to the show. Its like NBC didn't think the show's episode could holds it own, so they collaged iconic images, and add announcer to it last minute.
Seriously? Do you even watch this show?
Have you ever seen a promo for Community in your life?
The whole episode is about Pulp fiction. It's a tribute. That's all anyone needs to know.
The promo is promising something exciting and awesome, simple as that.
And yeah, Youtube comments are totally the best place to use a point when saying if something is good or not.
In other news it is TIED again.
Come on people keep voting we've got to pull ahead!
I've voted on my phone, itouch, laptop, and school computers. I'm voting as much as I can.

Arrested Development at least got recognition for its greatness. It won five Emmys for its first season alone.
Community hasn't won a single damn award for anything. Or even a nomination.
Well to be fair, Arrested Development is leagues above Community
@The:

To be fair, it's Arrested Development. It's leagues above almost anything else, and many others have gotten the same award as they did for doing far less.
What the fuck is Arrested Development.
@The:

I don't know. I definitely wouldn't say it's leagues above… I mean I absolutely love Arrested Development, but, I'll be damned if Community isn't slowly creeping up on it in my personal list of best shows.
I think by the time Community comes to an end it may have surpassed AD, especially if it continues to get better and better.
The one thing that always bothered me about AD is that I hated all of the characters. I never once felt bad for them. Except for maybe Tobias...
That's not a bad thing. It's one of the things that made the show work. I never got the feeling we were supposed to actually feel bad for what was happening to the Bluths.
I'm more fond of characters I actually care about though. Which is why Community might end up surpassing it in my opinion.

Even Michael and George Michael? Both of them always seemed like genuinely good persons. They had their flaws, but they sure as hell weren't comparable to Gob or Lucille.
Don't really know about Tobias. He seems like a nice person, yet he still is a neglecting and careless father.
Watch ur mouth, young padawan.
Or I'll throw vending machines at you.
Your lack of knowledge over one of the most highly awarded and celebrated shows of the past ten years makes your threat meaningless, the show has won real awards not meaningless internet awards. Your lack of knowledge makes me the fucking sith overlord.
Also Donald Glover isn't funny.
Tobias was just so pathetic I couldn't help but feel bad for him.
Michael, while the best of the family, was still an ass at times. He was always willing to turn his back on his family, and didn't really treat people that well. He was nearly as flawed as the rest of his family, he just had a better view of things.
George Michael…okay, I'll give you that one. He was easily the most decent person in the show, but he never really made any major decisions for himself, so I can't really judge him either way.
Just to clarify so I don't end up getting flammed by someone misreading my post.
I absolutely love Arrested Development. I love to hate the characters.

Let us not start a war over two fantastic shows.
And why would you say Donald isn't funny?
I've never found any of his stand-up or interviews funny despite one of my friends thinking he's hai-larious. I guess because I don't use twitter I just don't get him.
Did anyone catch tonights episode? wasn't what i was expecting. Wasnt all that funny but i still found it good.

and down to earth you must come, young padawan.
And I sincerley apologise that I don't know every tv-series in history of television, especially when they never aired on a german tv program I know of.
I never said something bad about your beloved series so stop your shit talk, man.

Nah, I know a lot of people are split on him.
I'm not too fond of his stand up, but I really like his skits. Long before I even knew who Donald Glover was I was watching him on Derrick Comedy, and I think that's more so his medium than stand up.
Also, his improve is pretty good. From what I understand, a lot of Troy's funniest moments on Communty are actually the result of Donald's improvisation with the character.

Oh, and I missed tonight's episode :(
Also Donald Glover isn't funny.
You clearly haven't seen Mystery Team.
I cried of laughter during that movie. Perfectly empathized Donald Glovers many talents.
Also Derrick Comedy.
Also Donald Glover isn't funny.
I find him hysterical. Seen a few of his stand up, was a fan of derrick comedy, liked the first 3 seasons of 30 rock which he was a part of, and im a fan of his music.

Felt the same way. Britta really has a fucked up life right now.
Every one of them, sans shirley, and jeff untill the money runs out, has a fucked up life.
Did Jeff take the consulting job in "Accounting for Lawyers"? Cause i wouldnt think he would have that much money since he was living in his car in season 1
On Donald Glover: Love him. He's the reason I started watching Community. His stand-up isn't very good, but Derrick is amazing.
On Arrested Development: You can't even begin to compare this show to Community. Like I said, leagues above.
On tonights episode: Might be one of the best of the season. Simply because so many people thought it was all going to be about Pulp Fiction when in reality it was My Dinner With Andre. Spectacular bait and switch.
Sidenote: Also, Britta is a bad character.

When you can cram Dinner with Andre, no no juice and Pulp Fiction into the same episode and make it heartwearming that makes you a great show IMO.
Damn, its 48-52 guys, lets get it together!!
Just got done watching the episode…..
Fantastic episode. The part with the briefcase was genius.
Also, "no no jiuce" and "what markets are you shopping at?!?!" XD
@The:
Sidenote: Also, Britta is a bad character.
Why?
It was good but wasn't laugh out loud funny like a lot of the earlier episodes. That's not necessarily bad though. Abed continues to be my favorite character. I was trying to figure out what movie it was supposed to be . Never even heard of it. The ending skit was awesome though.
This will be the episode Dan Harmon sends to the Emmy committee.
47-53
We have failed! Can't believe Community's losing to fucking Chuck -.-
@The:
Sidenote: Also, Britta is a bad character.
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree. All the other females are pretty good, but Britta has nothing going for her beyond being the blonde and hot. Yeah, she has moments like the 'BAH-GULS' moment, but that's not her being funny, that's the situation being funny. All the other characters have personalities at add to the humor.
Britta is like Elliot from Scrubs before the writing for Scrubs got good.
It's rather unfortunate too, as Britta's character support was that she was Jeff's love interest, which has been practically dropped in Season 2. :\

Agreed, Abed and Jeff was phenomenal in this episode, they can use this as well for their Best Actor Emmy bid.

I agree that often I laughed more at the situation she's involved in rather than her character as a whole, but I guess in a way, it's a testament to her character as well. That is, her character is one that get herself stuck on that kind of situations, like the episode before last for example. I thought it was hilarious in how she's trying her best to-tell-but-not-actually-telling-them that their newest friend makes hats out of babies, or another with the "turn it into a snake" hand motion. Not exactly my favorite type of comedy as well, but I don't find her character too bad actually.
And I personally don't want her to be forced to get together with Jeff, I know they're supposed to be the usual will-they-won't-they couple but Dan Harmon rightly bailed on that as there really isn't too much chemistry and the current situation suits them best, I guess.
You know what I find it kind of ironic that's she came in as the "I'm too cool and I know more about the world than any of you" character but now she's considered the worst character. It would be cool if Harmon set it up like this.
Well if you look at it, all the characters have changed and grown since the first season. Even Abed who is supposed to be the character who doesn't has involved, has grown to want have romantic interest.
Britta did go from the trying to be too cool character to becoming a "Lisa Simpson". Nothing really wrong with the character but because of her "pc"ness she becomes hated by the rest of the group. Kinda like the Meg, but its not a pointless hate.
Peirce and Chang have changed the most in my personal opinion. In this season they've almost kind of change places. Pierce in the first season was a goofy old man with out dated and offensive views, but in deep down is a nice guy who just wants people to liked and respected him. He was the antagonist in some episodes, but he was never an antagonist character or a villain. Til you hit Season 2, with Chang no longer the antagonistic teacher, that dynamic was moved to Pierce.
We saw this first with the Trampoline episode where he wanted to know the secret and because it was hidden from him, he let it out. Its almost as if this was a different Pierce, but then we found it was the pain killers, and he's kind of fallen back to his normal politically incorrect but likable self.
We all know that when Chang was a teacher all he did was make the group's life hell for his own amusement. But now he wants to be part of the group, and we found that he's just kind of crazy. Now that Pierce is back to normal, Chang is kind of back to being the antagonist. Look at the baby shower episode or how he played evil shoulder devil to Troy in Critical Film Studies.
See, I never saw Pierce as antagonistic. I saw him as an old man desperately trying to be young, and just wanting to belong. We first saw that in the episode where he was hanging out with Leonard and the gang (the belonging part, and his growing impatience with the study group) then, in the trampoline episode, he finally got fed up with being excluded and just kind of snapped. I couldn't blame the guy, because I pitied him. Then we saw the first signs of pill addiction in the bottle episode, and that of course spiraled out of control.
You know who I really wanted to not be a one episode character, Doreen the escort. She was a really interesting character.
I've basically stopped watching since NBC put Perfect Couples on right after it, so can anyone tell me has Senior Chang officially joined the study group?
