Geez. Opening 13 hits a lot harder after this week's chapter (when the shots of the SHs melancholically attending their own duties are shown)… not gonna cry

464: "Descendant of the Devil! Little Oars Jr. Rushes!"

Is it me or does Doflamingo's laugh change from the usual fufufufufufufu sound like the laughter in the MJ Thriller video? I didn't know he was THAT old^^;;. Also, like everyone here says, the Hancock part was brilliant^^. I love how they used Sanji's music from Strong World for that scene. Maybe, IF Eiichiro decides to add her as the ninth, that can be her eyecatcher music.
-
Decent episode. Shots of Moria/Doflamingo were terrible. Got a bit worried that they gave Hancock a theme song (Fueling those "Hancock 4 nakama!!" people), but apparently it's just a Sanji theme. Phew.
The anime is really starting to make me hate Coby.Kuma's part was cool however Donfla's and Moria's were O.K. but due to the need for editing I guess I understand
There's only one 'n' in Doflamingo's name. Why does everyone insist on calling him Donflamingo? :getlost: This is One Piece's equivalent of Gannon-banned, people should stop adding random n's to names.
-
With the coby thing they are building his last stand
! You know the akainu stuff and i think is a good idea, the guy have no real combat experience so i like the way is portrayed.
-
I also agree that the Hancock bit was great. The giants dident even stand a chance against Oars!
You've got to love him. -
Killer episode, loved every bit of it, except Coby lol
-
Wow I really loved this episode. Besides the normal shit that was bothering one thing that did bother me is the whole thing "OARS. ACE-KUN". It felt like they was gay lovers imho. Yes i know he made him a hit but still. I also expected more y'know BLOOD during the oars jr foot coming off but isn't a big deal. But overall I hope they do this all the time. Moria looked fugly as ever and his voice was just "stfu kthx". The still shots looked horrible of the warlords. Hancock looked like a man and a woman.
-
yea the Coby scene in 2 episode in a row is really unnecessary to people like me who doesn't like his character very much, Helmeppo is funnier…
-
Killer episode, loved every bit of it, except Coby lol
I liked the Hancock part most but seeing Oars falcon punch that giant, my eyes immediately saw BACK TO THE KITCHEN captioned on screen.
Greatest bit of subtle sexism ever.
-
The Coby filler scene fits perfectly with his scene from ch.556, which will be in the next episode.
In fact it makes him look a little better, since we're seeing that he's at least hesitating to run away, thinking back on his promise to Luffy and all, despite being horrified.I also expected more y'know BLOOD during the oars jr foot coming off but isn't a big deal.
That wasn't terribly bloody in the manga either.

Totally agree with you!

Ya I thought that(hasn't re read over the whitebeard war) but that kind of suppport the whole "puppet" devil fruit but I don't know
-
BEST EPISODE EVER!!!!! damn dude this week is just soo good!!
boa, dofla, moria, and oars jr is just an epic win
-
I loved this episode. Great stuff, except for Coby. Can anyone tell me what BGM was used in the very last scene? You know, with Ace and Oars.
-
Not as good as 463 or the second half of 462, but it was still a very entertaining episode, and a definite improvement over the manga. I can't say that much about the last two episodes.
Also, PROTIP: if you ignore Ace's kkgkgg.wav, then the way they set up the Oars/Ace dynamic is actually pretty damn amazing.
P.S. Doflamingo's scene would've been better if it were close to as clear as the manga image. I guess you're all too happy about the foot getting chopped off to notice the kinda icky art for that scene, lol.
-
one off the better episodes , ,not as good as the previous one , but whatever

Naw I saw the icky art. Also I don't get with everyone problem with coby's scenes. Its called character building so don't complain about it all the time.

Crossword mentioned that about "Hancocks music" before too but is it really a Sanji theme I listned to it again but cant pick where(or if) that theme was played previously.
It makes sense with her close combat style being similar to Sanji's but still…
.....Needs investigating :ninja: -

the problem is, they showing it twice now and by the time it actually happen, people who didn't pay attention would be like, "another Coby filler", it's like
! showing Shanks heading toward Marineford each episode, The impact would be reduce

Well yes, it is character development but still, even if it is perfectly legitimate, Coby has so far been an annoying bitch even when he was being serious. Hopefully the
! timeskip makes him a better character.

Well i still view him as the little bitch from before so maybe thats why i'm just like "Ya ok its fucking coby whatcha expect"
-
I don't see what the big deal is about the Coby scenes.
He is basically our insert character into the war.
(A normal guy who has been flung into hellish situation and is surrounded by violence and death.)Of course he is crapping himself. And like others have said, these scenes all add weight to his later actions.
-
Yeah were they in the manga?
I was like 'wow, Oars groupies!'I'm convinced Killer is a Oars groupie actually, judging by the hairstyle.
-
Damn this was a surprisingly good episode.
Yeah were they in the manga?
I was like 'wow, Oars groupies!'They were but not in this chapter. They were in chapter 556, the opening spread right next to Kuma and Mihawk.
-

Indeed…they have used the same background music for Hancocks kick course scene, pretty understandable though.
But will that music become Sanji's new theme throughout the anime, maybe it will be placed as Hancocks theme.
Then again its most likely that they just had that music lying around doing nothing so they used it for that scene.
-
If Toei's doing the same job, next episode will be awesome.
It has many cool moments
-
Awesome episode. If it continues like this I'll be happy.
Apart from the Coby scene (which didn't bother me that much) everything was great. The flashback was short, touching, like it had to be.
Poor giant squad. Lacroix didn't even stand a chance, his sword broke, the he was cut. (And Oars Jr. hit that female giant, how rude!) Their voices fit nicely. The animation on them was quite impressive as well. We need names. Now.
The Ursus Shock scene was just amazing. Everybody flew, blood everywhere, no sunshine. That's what this war is about.
-
Fist half was amazing, second half was good.
Oars' crewmates are awesome.
-
Awesome episode really cool animation especially Hancocks scene and Kuma's ursa shock. also interesting fact One Piece has caught up to The simpsons in number of episodes so congrats to One Piece
-
wow - color me shocked at how much I enjoyed that episode. Many cool moments.
-
I liked the Coby scene :-/
-
Oh man, epic episode!!! Hancock's bit was amazing!!! And some people claim that a monster of her caliber is just gonna sit on her ass for the rest of the series.
The Oars bit was very well done. So emotional T_T
-
So any good pics of Catman and Hippo guy ?
Oh btw : anyone have a pic of this alleged "Falcon punch" ?

Preach brother . This was why the latest SBS was such a goddamn waste .
-
I watch it on www.watchop.com
they have pretty much from 1 to current ;)
and Strong World
ftw.
gonna go watch it now >w> -
And ep 0 .
Only thing they don't have is the TV specials . Finding those with subs is a bitch .
-
I thought the Coby scenes work prefectly well in my opinion. Since Coby never been into a warzone like this maganitude.
-
Two warlords get awesome scenes.
Two warlords scenes were underwhelming. Moria's spear just appeared through Oars and we see the leg post getting cut, its annoying.
Everything else was good though except I kinda don't like how the Giant squad all got raped. Did worse than the SH did against Zombie Oars and that was arguably the stronger Oars.
Even Ronse was flung away which makes him look like an idiot next episode when he decides to attack an even stronger dude and gets killed. So according to the anime Sanji&Zoro>>>Marine Giants in their ability to repel a giant.
Just bothers me a bit but overall I think this is much better episode than Floating Kizaru, Smiley Jozu, and slo-motion Iceberg.
-
I know this is little, but … that flashback almost made me cry :x
-
YES HANCOCK FOR THE WIN!
This episode was amazing just because BOA HANCOCK!
Why is only the kuma or HANCOCK fight good animated ?
The others should be too…Anyway this episode proves that hancock is very strong ruffy and her would fit perfect together in a fight against other.

What You Did Thar.
I Saw It.
With My Eyes.
My Eyes That Saw It.
Saw What You Did Thar.
But will that music become Sanji's new theme throughout the anime, maybe it will be placed as Hancocks theme.
Oda Subliminal Message For Sanji's Future?
-
Oh man. That was an awesome episode. Oars Jr kicked ass…he totally owned the entire giant squad so easily. He played his part...even if he did get taken down.
I just don't get it.....WB told them to back him...yet they did nothing to help him. They allowed Kuma to pull off that Ursus shockwave...
But man that attack was brutal....he took it point blank and still didn't go down. What resilliance.
Flashback was great....ending was really sad..with all that music and stuff.
I liked Hancock's part...that was great. Looked awesome in full animation....
-
I hate Kuma so much. So, so much.
-
Anyone have the next ep's preview maybe?

Seeing the shichibukai in actions was cool.
DoFla proved again what a badass he is.
Also Kuma`s UrsaShock is rly so damn powerful but still it never took out one so far (not Zoro not Oars jr.) -
@No:

Preach brother . This was why the latest SBS was such a goddamn waste .
6 pics. It seems Catman's nose changes color every time. Just like Strawberry's beard. Cool. Wait, no. Not cool.
Anyway, sorry for the two femGiant pics, I just like her design. Oh, and a bonus Lacroix almostdead pic.

Ohh and i wondered a bit…wasn`t VA Lacroix (spelling?) the guy who was also at Maryjoa the first time we saw DoFla and Kuma?
In this episode one giant was titled like that^^Is that correct?

Yes, Lacroix is the giant. The manga left doubts about that, but the anime solved it.
(The Mariejoa Vice-Admiral is nicknamed Grandstache, Epicstahce, Frenchstache etc.)
