Bioshock Infinite

Still looks absolutely amazing. Still have no regrests paying off the Ultimate Songbird.
Still pissed that it's not March 26th yet.
-
Amazing new trailer (probably the best yet) that makes me more and more angry that it was delayed till March.
-
Ken Levine has confirmed that the game has gone gold… a week before the planned February 26th release date before the delay to March 26th. That would annoy me if it wasn't for the fact I was in a bad financial situation right now that would prevent me from getting it anyways.
New trailer:
-
uh…games go gold way before street date, the manufacturing and shipping takes weeks
-
Yup. Why do you think there is the whole ruckus about Rayman. The fact that the Wii U version is sitting in warehouses all finished lol.
Still. I kinda want this one. But also feel like I can wait. Whether or not I'll just pick it up on launch anyways. I think it's coming same day as Lego City and Luigi's Mansion 2 if I'm not mistaken. Those take priority atm
-

I know that, but many games go gold up to only a week or two before their release. My point is they delayed the game to polish it more than they needed to.
-
No, most games go gold 3-4 weeks before street date. Especially when you're talking about big releases with a million+ copies expected in initial circulation.
-
So who wants to bet either the guy or the girl dies at the end? It seems to be the thing most games are doing now these days.
-
I'm personally a little alarmed at how they presented Elizabeth in the last trailer… they kinda made her seem like she's on the brink of evil. I swear if they make her the final boss or some shit... FUCK.
-
Apparently they announced a season pass today ($20 for 3 DLC packs).
-
Eh…this doesn't make me happy. I was hoping there'd be no real story dlc with this game. Especially if it's related to Booker and Elizabeth. This says that it will feature new characters, so hopefully that means we'll be able to play as memebers on one side of the civil war and experience Columbia before everything goes to hell. That I would like.
Also, I'm still pissed that I haven't heard anything about the board game! I've been tweeting at Levine weekly about it, but still he hasn't even responded with a "shut the fuck up." We haven't heard anything since the original announcement back in October.

Went ahead and asked him myself about the board game and this was the response.
RT @__itzapillowpet__**: @__IGLevine__ Any more news on that Bioshock board game? –It's coming . Check with plaid hat for date.**
-
Seriously. -_- You ask him once and get a response?
Well, thanks for the info!

Given how the last two Bioshocks ended depending on the the choices you made it wouldn't by surprising.
-
Here's the commercial airing on US television now.
-
I got my money set aside for a day one buy on this game. I didn't buy the set with the songbird because the Big Daddy figure that was included with my Bioshock game showed up broken. :(

Did they give you a refund at least?

I got a free art book as compensation. God that was yeaaaars ago. This Infinite game has been a half a decade in the making. I've got my computer upgraded in anticipation of this game. I hope it's a long game like the first Bioshock's around 20 + hours. The length and content of the first Bioshock has become a rarity in games this generation that can be completed in 5 to 8 hours. Already the speculation about the twist ending is running rampant on other sites. I might have to call in sick to work that week. :)

12 days to go, and to celebrate, here's a new trailer!

Yeah it's not like games from the 8,16,64, and 128 bit era could be completed in a similar timeframe.

It is almost here! Thank whatever higher-power you worship!

Cancelling pre-order, all faith in gaming lost. Didn't think the game would be that bad
-
Aww…Bioshock Infinite sucks? Goddammit....I knew it was going to tank after that teaser trailer was released. What a waste of a game. :getlost:
With scores like that, it'll be a miracle if folks remember the Bioshock franchise.
(PS: my expecations for this game are through the roof. I'm really hyped).

Same, I'm super hyped. I'm sad cuz I pre-ordered on Amazon with some other stuff and it won't come til the first week of April. :'[

I won't touch anything less than a 9.6
This is a computer, not an orphanage for the plague-stricken
-
I just don't understand why 2K gave IGN early review privileges. I mean I do… money... but... IGN is so fucking awful.

They may be terrible (which I wholly agree, they are garbage), but they still have a huge readership so it makes sense <_< (not that anyone SHOULD doubt that Bioshock Infinite's value at this point).
-
Yet there's fools out there who are saying IGN gave it 9.4 cause of the deal they had with 2K and that the game isn't worthy of the score. There's the problem of "You can't say it's not worthy when you haven't played it!" "Well you can't say it is for the same reason!" but there's just certain games in which you just… know how good they're going to be. In the same regards there's games you know are going to be god awful.
Sure, there's disappointments as well as surprise hits but sometimes yeah... you just know.
-
Dat 8.8 !
-
lol. Got the shock of my life today. I thought I had this cancelled due to other games I want more out at the same time then got an email saying it had been dispatched. Only £25 tho. And comes with Biosock 1 which I been wanting to play again too.
Whether or not I'll put it away till May. Just not that excited for it.

Well gee…did 2K pay ALL these guys off?
-
Hilarious that IGN gave it one of the lower reviews. But honestly, that doesn't really inspire me much since perfect scores just make me wary about how good it actually is. The only game I can think of from this gen I may give a 10 to is Red Dead Redemeption, and MAYBE Uncharted 2 for performing well in just about all areas while coming out as the best in their fields.
-
2 and a half hours left here in dah Centrals.
-
I'm riding on the HYPE TRAIN:
!
-
Played about an hour and a half and so far not much has happened. The game was without any combat for the first hour, but that's because you explore Columbia and stuff before hell strikes you. The game does a really interesting tutorial system. Instead of throwing you right into combat and giving you prompts (which it still does) the game instead teaches you how to play via optional carnival games, I thought that was really cool.
-
LOVING this game so far. Love the setting and atmosphere the game is presenting, very different than BioShock 1 & 2. Steampunk FTW!
! I also love how the theme is kinda-sorta the opposite of BioShock 1 & 2. Instead of science "going wrong" and corrupting, it's religion "going wrong" and corrupting.
-
Not done anything with the main game yet. But anyone else who bought the PS3 version know how to find the code for Bioshock 1? It's not on the disc and not in the box either. (dunno if this was just a shopto/UK exclusive or what.)

It's a file you have to install from the disc. On the XMB it'll be the icon below BioShock Infinite's.
-
Can't find it. Under Bioshock Infinite it says Singstar (how do I remove this piece of crap btw) and no option for Bioshock 1.
-
My box has the "bioshock 1 included" on it.
I'm gonna guess if the install option isn't under the Infinite icon on the XMB, your copy doesn't have it.
! Game is great! Love the powers, exploration, and just how it all gels together. Yeah there are some strong themes at work here, but I give Irrational games credit for sticking to a vision and going all the way.
! Comstock is one piece of work i'll say.
! Elizabeth is fun, her tear ability is useful and seamlessly integrated into the action and the giant area skyline battles are a treat. -
Guess I'll send it back. Product description from the site clearly states includes Bioshock 1 download + Bioshock Industrial Revolution Pre-Order Bonus there. (Didn't get that either come to think of it.) I just assumed since it was a download it'll be a code or something haha. Box itself states nothing about Bioshock at all. Do all copies have it or just the pre-order ones?
-
tough to say. in gamestop land the only pre-order bonus is the chinabroom shotgun. I could guess the first wave of retail copies have the first game. but if the description says what you'd get, I'd send it packing.
-
Confirmed with some others. In the UK it's only via a code. Sounds like they just need to send a code for me to download it lol.
Likely I will actually play the game come the weekend. Got Metal Gear and Lego City to play first…. it's difficult to resist tho lol
-
Started playing it today. I really love it.
[hide]We sure are getting into arguments of race in this game. Damn, between "throw the baseball at the married couple" and the John Wilkes Booth memorial, shit… I didn't think they'd go there, but they went there.[/hide]
-
I love this game so much it hasn't disappointed me at all and I think I'm pretty far in.
! Just killed lady comstocks ghosts for the last time.
There is just so much detail so much to discover and although I spend a lot of time exploring I actually missed 2 sidequest both related to finding vox codes. -
How is the engine? Does it feel as heavy as Unreal?
-
It is UE3.
-
Oh hm…I heard they were using a different one. Nevermind.
