I'm calling it.
Bonny is Akainu's daughter.
Chapter 595: "Oath" Discussion
-
-
If I want to train I wouldn't choose Akainu to be practice partner.
-
No wonder they'd give him a nickname then
"OH MY GOD, ITS JEWERLY SAKAZUKI" -
I'm calling it.
Bonny is Akainu's daughter.don't steal my ideas!
still it's obvilous that she has something to do with the marines
-
As funny as it is to see Blackbeard act like an idiot, run away and take shots from people weaker than him… I think it's soon going to be time to see the badass side of him. He has the power, but he also has a D attitude which makes him very similar to Luffy.
-
Insert crazy theory, but if Bonney has some connection with the marines, then I suggest that Hina and Bonney may be sisters.
They both have pink hair
-
Blackbeard is not a coward, he simply knows when he's out of his depth…but to call him a thinking man is going a bit too far I think.
His ability is unique, but like people have said he has yet to master it, and with the new Gura Gura powers I don't think he wants to risk fighting with someone like Akainu who isn't exactly known for restraint.
Plus when you think about it, I don't believe there is anyone else on his crew ATM strong enough to take on Akainu, heck the fact that the Lvl 6 guys were in prison in the first place should tell you that they can't beat Admiral level fighters. Plus the ridiculous destructive power of Akainu's fruit mean's you dont really get second chances if you do engage in combat. So why risk it?
After all they wanted a battleship because those are supposedly big enough to be able to accommodate the Giant Squad Vice Admirals plus full crew on board. Not that many places in the world where yr gonna find a ship big enough to fit San Juan Wolf. For now they still have their ghetto raft so its not a real emergency.
Although I do agree that those guys are growing on me right now, they are true buccaneers, ornery, foul, unstable scallywags..just like real pirates. And the real Blackbeard LOL
Add to the fact that they basically got nothing to gain by taking Akainu out. They'd most likely suffer major casualties against Akainu. What would they have to gain from taking him out? More competition for PK throne? I'd rather keep Akainu thinning down the competition than to take him out and lose half of your crew.
They can do it later, when they get strong enough to handle him without major losses.
-
actually if you follow his line of sight(alot of their lines of sight, actually) they go to Zoro's ass.
16 characters of: Oh snap o_o
-
I really wish Bonney will live through this…I already kind of like her but now she's turning out to be quite an interesting character. Love how she kicked Teach while being chained up!
-
They both have pink hair
Although Hina was supposed to be blond :getlost:
-
Man, I love Oda.
!
-Teach being Teach, and I love the BB pirates interaction with each other - real pirates
-Hot shackled Bonney
-Drake is a pretty badass guy, eh transforms to dinosaur and doesn't afraid of Kaidou
-Law chilling, and Apoo running on thin air
-Dofla not giving a fuck, proving once again why he's such a badass
-Chopper realizing he needs to get stronger for Luffy (also hinting a possible control of his monster form later)
-Sanji being a real man by accepting the challenge of defeating the 99 okama kenpo masters, what a badass
Fuckin' awesome chapter.
-
Great chapter and Sanji's quest is awesome too! Chopper mask…LOL, maybe he got the idea from Sogeking?
-
@Sea:
Darkstorm did make a good point. Zigee didn't.
You contradict yourself by saying Zigee made a good point yet saying this:Blackbeard is looking for attention not running from it.
Zigee's entire statement wasn't a good point so I guess I should I have been more specific. I understood Zigee's good point to be this.
akainu is a friggen admiral who fisted fire fist ace through the chest.
But yeah, I got my answer now from reading the posts. Overall, Blackbeard should fear Akainu's destructive power even if he could win with his crew by his side. The collateral damage and risks would be too great for Blackbeard at this time.
-
since timeskip has been (sorta) confirmed, let me bring back the comic i did back in 2008 about what could go wrong if OP gets a timeskip.
[hide][/hide]
this was a real dream, by the way.and considering sanji is in kamabakka, i wouldn't be surprised if he ends up looking rather outrageous.
-
If the okama can't let Sanji show reveal his pretty eyes, no one can.
-
Are those mountains, on the island Drake is right now, still under construction ?
:wassat: -
The translation at mangastream is not… very good.
Nothing new here, I know.
-
Awesome colour spread, but "How fast the time"… fleets?
-
He mastered it already, he did the same stuff Whitebeard did
Blackbeard doesn't seem to think so.

@Devil:
Awesome colour spread, but "How fast the time"… fleets?
Its a take on the Time Warp song from Rocky Horror Picture show
Where they say something like Its astounding how time is so fleeting or something like that.
-
whats that Marutabune, BB is talking about?
-
@Don:
whats that Marutabune, BB is talking about?
Log raft. But somehow mangastream thinks it's the untranslateable name of BB's ship…:getlost:
-
And for Moria's next act he'll become young again by cornering Bonney with an offer she can't refuse. Plus a nice pacifista chin to regain his old look.
EDIT
Marutabune is obviously the 3rd ancient weapon.
-
I'm calling it.
Bonny is Akainu's daughter.Too late, I said it first in the spoiler thread.

Can't we have some faith on Oda doing a awesome time-skip :p?
@Don:

Log raft yea speaking of that molokidan's translations are just getting worse or is just me? I enjoy cnet128's and Aohige's translations better they are on point.
-
Sanji da man among men will kick the 99 masters straight into the face!
I really want to know if Iva is one of them. No way in hell Sanji can defeat him
-
Awesome. Glad the Moria thing was cleared up, and I'm glad it showed that Doflamingo is a pirate and not some crony. He does what he wants.
Chopper was funny going back to his island and insulting the poor natives to their faces. And it looks like Sanji will have quite the fight on his hands.
Oh, and I loved Drakes bit. That made me laugh.
-
I'm expecting a lot from the timeskip…
- One Piece world transformed
- new looks
- new abilities
- maybe even a few more adult themes in the manga?
-
My take on the chapter:
I really enjoyed the past two chapters basically showing us the difference between the SN.
In terms of strength, faith and character like.1)On one hand you could figure out that Bonney would be the SN BB reportedly whacked down. You could deduced from that, that she acts on impulse, based on her feelings and that obviously she has some stong connection to someone involved in the war most probably WB. Which reallly adds to the entire story of OP where not everything is about Luffy and the SH but you can see different ppl/pirates and compare their journey to Luffys
-
Than we have Apoo. His crew running from the boars could be interpreted as a comic relief kind of thing and they way he goes about things, but it could also lead us to believe he is one of the weaker SuperNovas.
-
Same can be said about Urougue, who looks frightened, which I just say I have not expect from him. Especially since his smirk almost became his logo. It also shows us that different SN have different kind of "luck" he stumbled upon a problem and the merchant offering him umbrellas certainly does not look innocent and harmless
-
Capone Begge, we can say much about him from what we have seen other than, that he stumbled on a strange island. Will it mean truble or not, is he weak or not. Practically nothing can be deduced from that. But he certainly looked surprised and perhaps nervous, but I supose that is notrmal given the situation
-
Drake, I most definitely didnt expect him to be "the type" he surprised me all together with his aggressiveness and willingness to "comfront" Kaidou
Now if that is some sort of plan or just shear courage it does not really matter I would currently putz him in the "top tier" of the SN just based on that (of course it is too soon for any kind of definite answer but just a feeling) -
Kidd, simply confirms his hype and the highest bounty of them all. We could see he would be one of the most powerful from the start I guess.
-
Law, same goes for him perhaps just his approach is different, but his calmness and patience gives away his strength I guess. It is great to see the difference in characters between Kidd and Law for instance.
-
And finally Hawkins. I was "afraid" that after getting himself pwned by Kizaru on SA he wouldnt "live up to my expectations for him" but I was proven wrong I guess. Again his calmness would I guess be the key and we could say he must be pretty confident for some reason(strength) in himself.
Ok if we move on from the SN. BB. That part for me was really great. From the way he crossed paths with one of the SNs, to the part where we were shown how troublesome can these level 6 prisoners can be.
We could see them whining, with that we could see they are reather spoiled or better to say individuals who dont easily follow orders and shut up.
The top of the iceberg for me personally was the attitude Avaro Pizzaro displayed. It is clear that he is used to leading the group if anything and definitely not following orders. So I would say Oda kind of portrays reality here. You dont just come to Impel Down pick up the worlds most meanest pirates and expect them to get along in a second.
Ok to resume the entire plan BB had, now that was the icing on the cake as far as BB goes in this chapter for me. The way he wants to travel the New World on a raft, reminds us that in a way he is simple minded and stuborn like Luffy. When he wants to trade Bonney for a Marine vessel and learns Akainu is on board…now thats where I got a smile on my face. Again it is not all black and white
There is no such thing as pure Evil in Oda's world there is no such thing as a supreme, unmistaken, unbeatable villain. BB ran like a little boy running to his mommy and the best thing about it was. You cant even tell was it because he thought he cant handle Akainu or was it because he just thought it was the smart thing to do.Anyways love his character and that part of this chapter.
Moving on. Doflamingo talking to an important person in the WG. (we know jack about him we dont see him, the mysterious aura is all around that so it intrigues...)
Again we are shown OP world is not Black and white. One minute Doflamingo is explaining his mission and the other he is threatening the guy he was supposedly receiving orders from. The last bit of the chapter I perhaps found too long. In my opinion 4 pages are not needed neither the detailed explanation and development where we learn how SH will get stronger. Them just showing up with perhaps glimpses on what they were supposed to be doing would be enough for me. Because 8 pages for that compared with previous 10 pages info-packed part is perhaps "disappointing"
But overall good chapter. I only hope we will get all the SHs in the next chapter because, having them in the next two would perhaps for me seemed a little dragged out. As I said we dont need to know exactly how they will get stronger and especially dont need all the dialog which leads to us finding out how.
Thats my take on the chapter anyway
P.S. Oh yeah about Moria...Didnt comment because I already said on several occasions that I really dont get you people who thought he was dead. You have been watching OP for enough time already to know Oda doesnt just kill his characters without a purpose, hack not too long ago people were worried that he doesnt kill them at all.
So Moria dying just like that would be ridiculous by Oda's standards -
-
Very nice chapter. I really liked the flash backs being redrawn. So I guess there is going to be a time skip. Looks promising though. Poor Bonney. I can't wait for the next chapter.

Wow, if i had a boring dream like that, i'd wake up before the beeping…
Oda won't give them abilities that he pulled out of his ass, he will only improve what has already been each character's forte. See Sanji's cooking, Chopper's mixtures/medical skill and each of them will start training physically (Usopp has to lose some weight)... meh, we'll probably see each character work on his/her stuff in the next three chapters and a short flashback of how they met Luffy.
Zoro budding wouldn't be a "new" ability, he already did that with Ashura and he won't Kage Bunshin it out!
Couldn't care less about anything else than manga character's eyes...
-
I saw some speculation in the spoiler thread about Bonney being important to the government because of her Devil Fruit. While we don't know much about her power, it's POSSIBLE that she has lived for hundreds of years and is keeping key government officials young too. I doubt it's the case, but that would be badass.
-
@Baron:
Blackbeard has become the ultimate version of Whitebeard: Same powers but with the ability to know when to run away.
Also, why are there so many theories about people being related or having weird connections all the time? Sure Oda likes that stuff but he hasnt done that with anyone besides Luffy's family.
And without any of WB other attributes….WB was far far past his best...its obvious that in his prime things might have been slightly different....he probably would have crushed BBs whole crew at least
-

That idea is fucking amazing and fits in perfectly.

I second, that idea is fucking amazing. Immortals are always fun.
Anyway, this chapter is love. We're getting so much, where to start? Chopper and Sanji are taking on challenges and the supernova are on the move. The chapter literally ran out of room to fit all these characters and it's not because it wasted it's time dicking around with giant bland white panels and close ups of faces.
I love Donflamingo's reaction to Moria surviving. A WG guy tries to scold him for failing to kill Moria and he's live "I HAD BETTER THINGS TO DO SHUT UP OR I'LL QUIT." It's not a matter of Don's competence but his priorities.

no,it's NOT possible.

If so BB can take her hostage to threat Akainu.
Then again, BB may not know this (but then why did he chose Bonney and think he can exchange something?) and Akainu isn't the type to threat, he is not corrupted, he is an insane, murderous extremist who believes in justice and will just magma-fist you.
That said, I think this theory is unlikely.
-
AHhhh so many chapter pages to choose from…nom nom nom. Sooo GooooD.
-
Lol at Blackbeard tryna get laid. Maybe next time mate.
-
@Del:
Blackbeard is like 3 times bigger than Shillew in this chapter, and Shillew was already twice the size of a normal guard. Blackbeard is getting bigger every chapter… It's creepy.
I hope you were sarcastic in that post, because if not then…
Sorry to inform you, but you've got no (or @ least a bad) sense for perspectives in comical drawings, do you?
Shiliew sits BEHIND BB from our (the reader's) view, so Oda drew him smaller. The same goes for Jesus and also Wolf in that panel.
If we go by your sense of perspective, Jesus would be even smaller than Shiliew in that pic.Did somebody mention that Avalo is the Usoppe in BB's crew?
Because:"I wanna be the captain, let ME be the captain!"Avalo also looks smaller than Laffitte in that panel, but thats also because of
PERSPECTIVE!!! -
well first saw a couple say "why complain about f-word" hey i'm all fine for swearing and all fine with being more "Piratey" but this isn't about whether the f-word is cooler or whatever, this wasn't what she said. if she said screw you, then she said screw you, putting f-you is totally and completely wrong. i mean we have people that seem to sacrifice their mom over someone mentioning something that is even related to anime, yet seem to be fine changing words in manga?
back to chapter. great chapter, gonna have another chapter of just strawhats reminiscing and seeing their plan on becoming stronger. curious on robin and brook, and i guess on zoro if he gets it and what that means. i can't imagine him asking mihawk, so will he just hang around and spar 24/7 with monkeys?
hoping it ends next chapter with luffy and totally cliche timeskip ending. thus then ch. 596 we can see them like finishing up their training and hopping on boats an going to meet luffy. i'm sure my ch. timing is off cause i can see him drag it out or whatever to have 600 be the reunion. its just too convenient.
-
Oh darn, it's Bonney :(
I have to admit it's interesting she showed no fear at seeing the marines. Hatred and resentment sure, but it seems she knew she wouldn't be killed at the very least.
Other than the obvious theory that she's the daughter of someone important… the only other possibility was that she was part of some sort of government tyke bomb experiment (one of the CPs like CP9) and owed her freedom to WB?
I was curious as hell why Drake left the marines, but now I'm even more curious why he specifically wants to pick a fight with Kaidou?
-
ok guys you first heard it here bonney is the daughter of Akainu gyahahah
well anyway good chapter, Moria is alive tho would he undergo training haha
-
I always loved timeskips, but i hope that this one won't be a disappointment like Naruto's one was{at least for me}…
Especially if their training is gonna be 2 years long, then when they meet again they should have all reached a high enough combat lvl...
I am wondering though,if it is going be that long, how will things be in the New World then,i hope we won't get to see many boring flashbacks or anything :/ ,or maybe nothing serious is gonna happen until then,we never know...
Btw,I think that Zoro isn't gonna ask Mihawk to teach him anything, but i bet that while he will be training with the island's beasts/monkeys or whatever they are,Mihawk is gonna give him some hints etc,and then they even might start training together hehe...quite small chance though...
-
Bahaha. So not only does Moria have a bone to pick with Kaidou, but the entire World Government as well. Surely he'll want revenge, but what he'll do in order to be able to carry it out….that's the mystery.
I must reiterate though, Drake surprised me this chapter with that. I loved how Oda introduced the Supernova as other rookie pirate crews going on the same type of trip as Luffy but with completely different adventures, and they're looking to be quite the interesting group in the New World.
-
My take on the chapter:
(…)
P.S. Oh yeah about Moria...Didnt comment because I already said on several occasions that I really dont get you people who thought he was dead. You have been watching OP for enough time already to know Oda doesnt just kill his characters without a purpose, hack not too long ago people were worried that he doesnt kill them at all.
So Moria dying just like that would be ridiculous by Oda's standardsYeah, Moria survived and its sure that he'll come back to the story, but another character with quite the same situation (got beat by Luffy, got pwned by Dofla) didn't come back to the story yet:
BELLAMY!
I'm no fan of him, I don't even like him as a villain, he was lame. My point is:
You wrote Oda don't kill on purpose. True.
The scene with Moria and Dofla had a meaning 4 the story.
Also the scene with Bellamy and Dofla had a meaning. I just dont know which (Dofla could have said that era crap by pwning Mock Town without killing Bellamy).
Bellamy had been forgotten. For what purpose did he die? If he died after all. -
lol @ everyone thinking they were the first person to propose the idea of Bonney being related to Akainu.
-
Since the training for the nakama so far involves their expertize, I'd say:
-
Zoro, first mate, will train his ability to organize and command people by taming the humandrills, which I speculate will be able to copy some of Zoro's techniques.
-
Nami, navigator, I think it is quite clear what she will learn and gain, the ability to understand the weather, and to control it in large scale. I speculate she will even be able to control the weather in NW and in the calm belt.
-
Usopp, sharpshooter, maybe learning to shoot with and without any weapon? or whatever Heracles does…
-
Robin, archaeologist, ancient knowledge/techniques perhaps?
-
Franky, shipwright, upgrades his engineering skills as he upgrades himself with Vegapunk's knowledge.
-
Brook, musician, I guess he will upgrade his influencing and hypnotic skills, which he will incorporate to his music and fighting style, which so far shown to be effective to be used against a crowd.
-
-
The world's strongest man dieing and the man who can create zombies surviving from certain death…..Almost sounds too good to be true.
