It wasn't a very good puppet show. There were some bad Christopher Walken impressions, and a narcoleptic puppet.
And the highlights will probably be up later, they've bene youtubing most (but not all) of the skits.
it was an interesting social experiment… testing how long people will sit and watch a staircase...and some fun stuff in between. Stupid, but fun.
-
Andy Warhol would be proud.
-
I hope they do it again sometime. From when I was watching it live it was fun. I'm kinda mad that I missed the Zombie attack and the Geogre Lopez and Dog the Bounty Hunter segments live.
-
Just found out Max isn't returning, I'm quite disappointed by that. I realize he's not always there due to touring with Bruce, and he was barely there at all during Tonight, but… when he was there... it was pure gold, always has been. Conan and Max's interactions were always classic, where as Conan and Andy's are... awkward at best.

Other way around. Andy has always had comic timing. Max was always akward and seemed embarassed to be performing in a bit. Practically every time he did anything, they'd have to follow up with a joke about how bad he just did it. There's a reason they ended up focusing more on Labamba compared to anyone else in the band.
I do wish they'd bring back the staring contests with Andy tho.
-
Cause I know better than to argue with you, I'll just say "agree to disagree".
-
Eh, Andy and Max have very different strengths.
And I didn't see all that much of Conan's Tonight Show. So most of my impressions of Andy are from a decade ago and the anniversary clip shows. He might not be as sharp as I remember.
-
He's not, least I don't think so. I think I could count the amount of times he was actually "funny" on Tonight with one hand.
-
Conan O'Brien and Max Weinberg always cashed in on its awkwardness
Conan O'Brien and Andy Richter is one of those Hit or Miss cases
I like both interactions -
This is a interesting artcle about the entire Conan/Leno Feud that just came out.

Conan Presents: Show Zero!

Darn, Jack Nicholson is ahead of the polls? Lame. I see him enough on TV from Lakers games.
I was hoping that the first guest would be Norm MacDonald. He's always funny.
-
So wait, Conan's keeping the beard? I thought he was only doing in protest/whateveryouwannacallit like he did back during the Writers Guild strike. Is he shaving before the very first show, or is it actually something he is tying to his TBS-era?
-
Conan's had the beard on his tour for the last 9 months and for all the TBS promos, apparently he likes it. I'd imagine he's keeping it. He looks better with it and more mature, closer to his age.
It's a good easy way to seperate the shows and make it more distinct, and makes an instant point that he's been at it for a while. No more of the "I'm just this babyfaced guy that doesn't know what he's doing."
I hope he keeps it.
-
Fear the be(v)ard?
-
Sure. Why not.
-
Well, I was certainly taken aback because Conan's appearance and voice in that video strongly resembled my old pastor, except like 20 years younger.
The video was amusing. Predictable, but amusing.
Maybe there's potential after-all.
-
I dunno, the baby-faced look is just… Conan. It's part of who he is. Conan doesn't need to be mature. The kinda antics he gets into are gonna seem kinda ridiculous (more so, rather) with that beard. Eh, I'll get use to it, but feel he should shave.

I was a bit like that in June, but I got over it and kinda like it at this point. I will miss none hairy Conan, but I can get use to him like this.
-
I got over that beard as soon as I saw how good he looks with it
-
the beard looks great leave him alone etc.
-
The beard is manly and thus it should stay. Conan's becoming a real barbarian!
-
Tonights the night be sure to watch the episode on TeamCoco.com if you do not have "TBS" by the way.
-
I didn't say the beard looked bad or that he didn't look good with it. Quite the opposite. I'm just so use to the shaved look. Seeing him shirtless with that beard will never be the same. Instead of being hilarious, it'll be hot.
-
Is it just me, or is Conan modeling himself after Hank Scorpio?
-
Thank god Conan is back.
-
Conan is already on fire tonight.

This.
It warms my heart to see him back. I hope he kicked Leno's ass into the ground.
-
Conan should be great tomarrow with Tom Hanks. The question will be. Will Tom Hanks get hit by the metor again or not.
-
Conan being shot by 1920's mobsters with Tommy guns after the credits is one of the greatest things ever.
-
I'm about to be torn to shreds but… I thought the episode fell pretty flat, and it's not because my expectations were high either. S'okay, once things get settled there they'll be on the ball again. I was laughing for most of the episode, problem is Conan usually has me in stitches.
-
eh, it was alright…the guest stars weren't that entertaining
-
I'm very pleased to say that this is good ol' Conan, and that hardly anything about his humor has changed. I loved the NBC jokes xD
-
I need to find the full episode somewhere or I will cry.
Also it seems that Conan won't be aired in Finland, unfortunately. :<

Well, it didn't have me in stitches, but I thought it was pretty funny overall. And I thought he had a great dynamic going with his guests, especially Seth Rogan.
Looking forward to the future! (I'm waiting for another showdown between him, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert, since now he's competing with them in their time slots)
-
It started losing me in the second half, probably because it was a Glee actress, but that's a result of the format. Talk show is talk show, I'm sure if I had been paying more attention he would've been working with her as well as he could for someone who stars in Glee.
And then Glee actress was followed up with Jack White on my least favorite portion of any late night show: the musical guest, which was just a triple whammy of "I couldn't give less of a fuck" and I kind of just zoned out of it for the rest of the night. I was hoping that Conan would always jam with whoever the musical guest was, because that instantly makes it all the more interesting, but I guess it was a one-time deal.
I'll try watching this when I can, but it airs at midnight on my time zone so fat chance.
I don't think I gave enough praise to the actual show itself, which I felt was pretty strong, even with the guests he had. This is the first time I've really watched a talk show. I've seen things like Jimmy Fallon (it had a nice stage, The Roots, and apparently interesting musical guests so I was suckered in thinking it would be good) and I've seen Letterman a few times, but they weren't things I really ended up _watch-_watching.
But this was the first time I really sat down, watched a late night talk show and I was actually surprised by how I enjoyed the format, even as something in the background when it was focusing on people I didn't care about. This is why I'm kind of bummed I probably won't be able to regularly watch it, airing so late. I'll watch episodes on TBS's website at least, but it doesn't seem something that lends itself to watching on the computer.

The ratings are in…and Conan beat now only Stephen and Jon, but Jay Leno too!

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/__-Ky4UmDAUE/R54RsnIPzmI/AAAAAAAAAQw/SNinfqyATf0/s320/Hank+Scorpio.bmpDAMN. THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME.
SOMEONE GET CONAN A FLAMETROWER.

Didn't Conan WRITE the episode with Hank Scorpio?

First show, doesn't mean much. Where the ratings sit in 3 or 4 weeks is where the interest lies. He'll probably be behind all of them at that point.
-
Not a particularly funny episode, not a bad episode too.
The Conan average, gave me some laughs -
@RobbyBevard:

Actually the four episodes he's credited for are Marge vs. the Monorail, New Kid on the Block, Homes Goes to College, and the wraparounds for Treehouse of Horror IV (the parts where Bart presents the paintings).
By the time You Only Move Twice came around Conan was already 3 years into Late Night (in fact, he already had a cameo in the Season 5 episode Bart Gets Famous).
I am such a nerd.
-
Coco is on now! And he is giving people pieces of his beard.
-
I laughed at that India satin commercial Conan did. Not bad stuff, certainly better than his old material.
Unfortunately, this show is on at the worst time of night for me, so I'll probably never get a chance to see it.
-
@LUFFY#1:
The full episodes on that site are not available for Europeans, but thanks anyway. I found a torrent so I'm a-okay.
Can't wait to watch it~
-
For the Europeans:
! go to tvshack.cc if you want to watch the episodes.
Anyway, Conan looks great, he lost weight, kept the beard, and Andy's comedy was on fire. I mean seriously, he's never been funnier, he almost overtook Conan's routine.
-
Last nights episode was great, everything Monday's shoulda been. I knew once they get settled in things would get better, and this was confirmed when Conan said it himself last night.
