I loved Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu before, but damn. The second season has easily launched it into my top 10 - no, probably top 5 - anime shows I've ever seen. I just fucking love it so much like godDAMN.

RE: Kaiji
"The Kaiji thread has been revived. Maybe… Oh my god...! Was a new season of Kaiji announced?"
My heart leaps as I read the latest posts.
"Oh... I guess not."
I'll just take this as a sign that I really need to read more of Fukumoto. Gonna start with Kurosawa.
(Also I find it funny that this thread was revived just as I'm watching through Kaiji for the third time. I'm trying to get my boyfriend into it. Zawa zawa has become a frequent phrase we use. :D )

RE: Silver Spoon by Arakawa Hiromu (Fullmetal Alchemist)
The feels of chapter 120 made me clutch my chest <3 And apparently my grin was so wide that my boyfriend had to ask whether I had just seen a very cute dog.

RE: Cats Vs Dog: Why don't people understand cats and dogs are not as great as goats
I really love both, but if you force me to pick one with a gun to my head I will say dogs. I've dealt with dogs way more and I've never seen their attention seeking as bothersome. Seeing a dog anywhere at any time instantly cheers me up and I love my friends' dogs to death.
That being said, cats are really great, too. I've had the pleasure of knowing three incredibly friendly and affectionate cats and they were awesome. I wish I wasn't so allergic to cats. I'd love to have both cats and dogs in my lifetime, but what can ya do. (Then again, I used to be slightly allergic to dogs too but got rid of it by working at a dog kennel for half a year.)
When it comes to pet owners though… Yeah, sure, there are "crazy cat ladies" and the like, but man, some dog owners can be beyond stupid. They humanize their dogs to a point where the dogs can do whatever they want and I will admit that badly behaved dogs annoy me, even if it's not their fault. When my two best friends, a couple, got their first dog, they had the luxury of an entire summer vacation to train her properly. Now she's super chill and will leave you alone if you want. When they got their second dog, they didn't get to arrange nearly as much time for puppy training and boy, he's a mess. It's even worse now that they have a baby and even less time or energy to focus on a dog that jumps against you, pulls on a leash, screams when hungry or lonely, will get in your face to lick you whenever you sit down and eats your stuff if you're not careful. Well, at least my friends KNOW they have neglected his training so they're not oblivious.
Also, when I get my own dog someday, I'm not getting a puppy. I'd rather rescue an older dog. Puppies are really friggin' cute, but I just know I wouldn't have the patience to deal with the pissing, pooping, biting and destroying. (Though I do recognize that it would be up to me to make sure that they become well-behaved as soon as possible.)

RE: Magi
I just finished reading volume 17 so up to chapter 168. I love this series so much dammit!! The urge to read ahead… rising... 100000%... I could just read and read for well over a hundred chapters.
I have a feeling I won't be able to resist much longer.

RE: Chapter 839: "I Shall Never Forget The Debt That I Owe You"
For old time's sake:
This scene still makes me cry, apparently. I love how there's a new layer added to this with the recent development of Sanji. I can't be a 100% sure of course, but Zeff's "don't catch a cold" might be the first fatherly thing Sanji has ever heard and that's what makes him so emotional in the farewell. Zeff was a father figure to him for many years prior, of course, but especially with this chapter it's cemented how important Zeff is to Sanji. The Vinsmokes are perhaps a little bit too evil and assholish to my liking, but eh, that's a minor complaint since I've mostly really enjoyed this arc.

RE: Your duration as a One Piece fan
For me the chapter where I caught up with the Japanese schedule was 423: Mermaid Legend. (It was also the first chapter of which I read spoilers and I remember laughing out loud when I saw the last page spread.) OP Wiki says that it was released in August 21st, 2006. Oh man… That was ten years ago... I feel old now...

RE: Silver Spoon by Arakawa Hiromu (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Oh man, chapter 117 was excellent. I don't remember if Mikage had previously acknowledged that she likes Hachiken out loud, so that was a really nice moment. Also the ending had me laughing in tears. Ahhhh, I'm gonna miss this series so much once it's finished!

RE: Bleach Discussion █: Soul Society, but not!
I stopped reading Bleach somewhere around the Fullbringer (?) arc, when Chad said something about his skin being his pride. He used to be my favorite character and by that point I just gave up. And now Bleach is finally ending… Wow. I'm not at all surprised that it never got any better, judging by the comments in this thread.
I might watch the rest of the series in anime form, even if its just for laughs. I'm slightly interested in how much of a clusterfuck Bleach came to be.
