Are you suggesting his scissors could cut what Zoro's best cutting attack could not…?
Zoro's strongest attack (as of now) isn't even worth passing my mind when discussing shichi.

@Mark:
moria is a pretty smart person. im pretty sure he wud use doppelman to escape if his life is in danger
Moria can escape from anyone, using Doppelman. Therefore Moria can't be killed by anyone. Moria is unkillable. Moria is number one. Moria FTW~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!

When were Moria's scissors shown to be super proficient blade weapons?

You could have gone with "Doflamingo can also control people's limbs, so he took out the Pacifistas with their own laser beams" but you chose "Moria's scissors > Zoro's swords"?
Come on.

ANYONE?…DID YOU JUST SAY CAN'T BE KILLED BY ANYONE?
HMMM…
Moria, or rather the shadow fruit, has an interesting service to provide to the goverment.
The pacifistas are puppets aren't they? Practicaly corpses modified to fight? Putting a soul in a weapon has its cons (loyalty, weak points, it's not neded for them to work) but also it's pros (adaptability, loyalty, the boost in power that a shadow implies).
That's a reason for why the goverment could have wanted moria alive at some point, but as I ponder this, the scene couldn't go "D: Now you die! nah, just kidding, we need you alive" or a knock out after intimidation.
I like this idea kinda. It would be a bit shocking to see Moria being altered into a drone by Vagapunk…(with his history cleaned, there could be use for a pasifista without any government given status) But I'm not sure on this one yet. Still leaning dead.
Moria had no purpose in the war. Oda made him survive kuma only to die a few chapters later?
@JERK:

They weren't.
@SuperJew:

Come on.
Apparently Doflamingo doing it is bending backwards but I didn't get to think of more ways he or both of them could've taken them out.
If anything, this further cements in my mind that Bellamy is dead. Dofla present for both Bellamy and Moria in what both looked like/implied offscreen deaths. Hmm….

Honestly though, it's beside the point. No corpse to verify. 5v1 against a guy who lost to a rookie and was OHKO'd by Jinbei, and we are supposed to believe the WG/Marines would buy a story where in such odds he conveniently destroys all four Pacifista before having his corpse disintegrated? But for the sake of argumentation, laser holes would be even more telling since Moria controls shadows and zombies, not cyborgs.

@JERK:
The scene was a small chilling hint at what lies above. The Gorusei. It's showing their power in how they can simply erase even a Shichibukai. Moria's death too insignificant for a Shichibukai? Sure. Because he's getting swallowed up by narrative momentum of a far more powerful entity.
^^ Is this not sufficient?

Are you serious?
Careful Zik, this could become a meme like Spandam's shoes, you don't want your name attached to something like that.

LOL. It's not like I don't understand the other side of the argument as far as what the scene represents. I just don't feel it being in the paper cements Moria's fate.
I'll probably be sold on this the next time we see Doflamingo or if Oda gives us another cameo of the Gorousei.
how come on OP wiki gecko moria's status is already deceased when its not even confirmed whether he is alive or not??
Because he's dead.
The WG aren't the type of people to make such a big mistake on such a public document.
Who gives a fuck what's on the OP wiki? Aint there like a dissertation on Hancock's character on there?
I still want to hope that he's alive but after WB and Ace… I just doubt it though I can't imagine why Oda would have Mihawk say that and give us very VERY few Moria fans a little hope...
you guys should be praying EVERY NIGHT that he's still alive D: cause without a crew to go back to... Perona could join the Strahats... NOBODY WANTS THAT D:
@Mark:

I think the bigger question is why are you expecting accuracy from the wiki.

SOOOrryy u dont have to be a douche about it …im just a lil kid with no life and luvs to read stuff

Mihawk is simply repeating knowledge we are already aware of : moria was alive at the end of the war.

That is a bad joke.
^^ Is this not sufficient?
Well I never thought i needed that to be told how powerful they are… But if Oda needs to cement it that way then i can't say anything against.
Doflamingo is going to have to dominate his arc with no shadow. :ninja:
I feel really bad for Beka. He unluckily decided to obsess over one of the VERY, VERY few One Piece characters who has died in the present time.
Gecko Moria is alive on Shadowisland. And do you know where Shadowisland is located?
Right next to sniper island deep in our hearts.

Oh, I agree with you that Moria's gone. Just pointing out the stupidity of basing a key point around Gekko Moria's famous scissors.
But for the sake of arguing…
Based off of the Strawhat's fight with the Kuma Bot, whenever that beam touches a solid object, shit blows up. You'd have charred remains rather than bullet holes if this were the case and that's a lot easier to manipulate than cutting through PX's. (Again, for the sake of arguing. I don't think this scenario has a snowball's chance in hell. If anything, he's using Doppleman to get the hell outta there.)
So we need three new schichibukais
IMO Moria not dead, there only 2 big character die beside people die in flashback.
1. Ace died because he complete his dream which is want to be accept by people.
2. Whitebeard died because he already completed his dream which is to have a family.
Have Moria complete his dream? I don't think so. Oda only let big name character die once they complete their dream….
He's alive and currently being turn into pacifista against his will. :ninja:
He's alive, he managed to flee somehow. I can't believe Oda just kill him off-screen. He is a Shichibukai, so I don't think Oda wouldn't have given him a Crowning moment of awesomeness before he died.

Then Moria will never die because he will never become PK.
That dream shut only apply to protagonists.
He's death. But will see him again when the SH will have to go to the Hell Island.
of course he is not dead, he will be there for the final war as one of luffy's allies
I'm not convinced because I'm not sure why Oda would choose to kill him. He was brought back from TB (even Hogback said something about it not being the time for Moria to be turned upside down), then underperformed in the war, and instead of a number of options from there.. simply killed? I don't buy the idea that Oda didn't know what else to do with him. For example, he has a connection with Kaidou, a future plot element so how can Oda run out of ideas when Kaidou hasn't even appeared yet? I'm not even saying Moria would play an important role if he were to appear during Kaidou's arc, but if he was to reappear, that'd probably be a good time. Not to mention Dofla may be defeated by then, so none of his hype is lost. Pardon my slight ramble..
And I seriously don't know why there must be all this ambiguity if he's just dead. If he is dead, Oda's a big jerk for leaving our hopes up, pfft. I really think it's possible for him to become another ally, as a few people have guessed.

The ambiguity is not for Moria's survival, it's for the means of his death.
If Moria is dead, then it's not because Oda ran out of ideas. It's rather because something else is being foreshadowed that has something to do with why he died.
Moria's role is kinda done guys.
He is alive and he will return stronger than ever b4
He is alive and he will return stronger than ever b4
And just how do you expect him to be stronger? He was scary, Luffy beat him. He went to the giant war, Doflamingo beat him. He's gone, he has no potential.
BekaDidAct is reading this thread
Shit just got real

There's plenty of ambiguity still around his survival if people keep having to say "if he's dead"
And I was saying that if he died (heh), Oda having run out of ideas for him couldn't have been the reason, as someone suggested in the spoiler thread. But I'm not sure what the reason for Oda choosing this would be, since he has never resorted to killing an established character without having to.
Technicaly Luffy didn't beat him as they both passed out in the end.
…
ARE YOU SERIOUS?
Moria had the entire situational advantage, the whole place was created for him, and even then, Luffy beat his ass and destroyed him, no matter what he did.
And you aren't gonna count it just because Luffy passed out after the fight? He would have obviously continue standing up if Moria survived after that, he only passed out because he finally did what had to be done.
DoFlamingo with the help of an army of Pacifistas may have beat him
but Moria may have escaped somehow.Like he did with Kaidou.Why the heck would they say he died, then?
- U say he has no potential but in the same time he is the only Pirate who was so close to become a Yonku.
WHAT? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
He got dominated and ragdolled like a bitch by Kaidou, and we don't even know if he was a Younkou at the time, he didn't even manage to stay in the New World, which a lot of pirates who aren't Younkou did, what the heck are you talking bout?
A guy with a penis for a head is really dead
I think moria is now dofla's puppet. When the SH will face dofla, we will see moria on his knee just to prove how strong dofla is…but i'm sure when the SH (and I hope Robin because I want my dofla vs robin) beat the crap out of dofla, moria will have his vengeance big time!
…
He would have obviously continue standing up if Moria survived after that, he only passed out because he finally did what had to be done.
Ofcourse he wouldnt be able to continue fighting Moria :blink: If he would then by the time Kuma showed up Luffy would have given everything to stand up and help his friends out.But instead what happened is that Luffy was unconscious and unaware of what was happening.
So face it.It was a tie and Moria would have beaten him (even without playing his cards right) if it wasn't for this huge tower falling on his head
Why the heck would they say he died, then?
Because WG like Mihawk said isn't a credible source.For example they haven't announced the fact that some LVL 6 famous prisoners r out of their cages.
WHAT? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

No Kaidou wasn't a Yonku at that time but the winner would have become a Yonku.Moria fought equally with Kaidou (not my words) ,who btw lets face it he is prolly stronger than Dofla but eventually he lost the battle probably because after he saw that all his crew was slaughtered he had no other choice but to skip this battle.Not to mention that by that time Moria wasn't using his DF full potentials as he wasnt using any Zombies.However he was in a much better fit than today :happy:
