@Darkstorm:
Who are you even talking to here.
The guy up there, the whole post was for him.
How can something we don't know hurt him? By it's very definition it's entirely neutral.
Yes, I'm just trying to re-emphasize that due to the very small number of FISHMAN species that we've seen on panel, in the history of the manga, and the obviousness that Jinbei is probably the first "Hero" type character of that whole race, it's just that it makes you worry about the "high" chances that a highly overpopulated place full of those creatures could somehow have a character that overshadows Jinbei and joins over him, due to the idea that he's but one of like 7 fishman in the whole series.
But, it would ultimately remain neutral in a conversation that is prematurely neutral overall.
Seriously stop making this point if you want to cease being the laughing stock of this forum.
It's the only feasible "con" that you could provide given the known information and what massive unknowns keep you from claiming he won't join due to Fishman Island being so secretive.
Aside from his physical attributes, you cannot claim he "fails" at anything else because there's nothing else to whine/ bicker over since he literally cannot fail at anything that could change from the revealing of Fishman Island.
@Jacoobus:
This why it is important that Jinbei is so humble. He is not the kind of character to lord authority over the rest of the crew just because he can. At the same time he is far more experienced than anyone else on the crew and it would make no sense for that not to be utilized in some capacity as a leader. This is not about making the rest of the crew into minions, it's about providing them with proper guidance and direction when neccisary. Also while for now you can say he's coming out of nowhere I specified in my post that I didn't expect this to happen until towards the end of the FI arc. This means that by the time it happens he will not only have gone through thick and thin with Luffy, but will likely have at least one full arc to get familiar with the crew. I don't think anything else you had to say is worth responding to so I'll refrain from further comment.
You're ignoring "real" time in the manga, arcs may only be but a mere day long if not less… Having a day pass doesn't automatically account for this situation to suddenly become feasible. It's just a waste and a sad excuse for lack of detail and attention; carelessness. Characters need "time" to make such decisions, and like Oda explained, the crew does think this way because of the Usopp situation and the Robin situation where they waited patiently for the "time" factor.
To say that Jinbei joins merely to be a vice-captain is insulting not only to the crew, but to every other character around...
Even so, he might have MORE experience, but he's a "greenhorn" compared to Brook and we didn't see any sudden change when Brook joined the crew, now did we?
Oda isn't going to add any "vice-captain" because he doesn't need to add a chain of command when the whole crew acts as a "brotherhood" to basically thrive.
Zoro is about as "vice-captain" as you can ever pick up from the manga, and there's no emphasis on a need to replace that, at all.
He was talking to me.
Ditto.
@herr_sebbe:
No. AGOG just provided alternate solutions that don't inquire Jinbei joining.
I did.
Similiar to how some people suggest Perona could join Law or Buggy, or how she'll stay behind in Kuragaina, as a counter-solution to her joining Luffy.
Law is out of the picture, thankfully…
It's not an actual counter-argument, but it takes away the "This character will join 100%" by providing other ways the character could have his role played out.
Well, it's just a reality check because there's not many fishman around and with the future island basically have a populace of only those guys, it makes some people wonder and turn head when they find that their "first" revealed hero-fishman isn't their favorite due to some of the others, in the background, seemingly a better choice.
@JERK:
lol, don't you dare fucking bitch about people not letting AGOG talk about hypothetical alternatives when he pulled that exact shit on me earlier in this very thread.
Ummm… You do know that your thing was horrible. "Oda writes shitty plots, and never plans anything...." which I couldn't bear to stain my eyes reading, at least not for long.
Super Connard, Herr Sebe, bitch about this.

Yes, and do realize that saying, "Oda does it for the fuck of it!!" isn't accurate in hell, or anything.
You've got to be kidding when you assume that was even close to answering the question. Clearly, it wasn't.
