Seriously... I hope that Sabo dies, this FB character has already played his role.

Voted alive. Explosions like that mean nothing in the world of OP.
Sabo is DEAD… I just got all the negativity get into me at the "Sabos Ocean" thread....
This kid is dead, seriously people. I don't care if he was a great character, if he had a great design, this child left this world a long time ago.
Mods, why is there a vote on something that Oda decided years ago?

Exactly, Sabo was created years ago… to be killed. No need to debate
I'm sorry mama, I can't debate the point you're attempting to make. There is no room for debating scientific fact.
However I will gladly accept the equivalent of $200 from you if you're so sure when we see Sabo again.

I won't have to give any money.
Since Sabo's death is scientifically logical.
This wonderful kid has been feeding fish for years.

You all heard it. Accepted. Done and done. My participation here is complete.

Science? In a manga where eating a fruit gives you magical powers?
It can easily go either way. We have had vague deaths in flashbacks before (Tom was just tranquilised and taken away, right?), but I think in this case there's a lot more promise in him being alive.
Just for curiosity: to those who think Sabo will return, what kind of role do you think/wish Sabo will take if he returns to the story? Do you think he will be a villain? Will he just take Ace's role and be the distant and powerful older brother? Will he be a revolutionary? Will he be saved in an arc and have a happy ending? Will he join the crew? What do you think?
I'm on the "dead" camp, but if Sabo would return, I'd like to see him somehow be a villain. A villain with a shared past with Luffy is something we haven't had in One Piece yet.
He lost his memory…

Said it before, will say it again. My money is on him being the rumored eyepatch pirate.

I'm asking more about his role in the story. Okay, eyepatch pirate… I said that before too (when Sabo was introduced and I thought he would betray Ace and Luffy at some point), but what role? Villain? Friend? Nakama?
Sabo is indeed alive and well.
Though I was tempted by the Schrodinger's cat option I do think that Sabo is alive.
well I have to agree Sabo is alive! his suppose death has caused much debate over the last few days and at the moment only one guy knows the outcome, however too much time was spent on Sabos life so I have to agree that he is alive and will play a big role in future chapters.
As for his role he might play a magician would suit him well, luffy always wanted one aswell(he got a musician -brook) and a magician type has yet to apear in one piece
He took a freakin head shot from a cannon at 10 years old with no where to really run :getlost:… DEAD... i love Sabo but there's almost no way he would survive that... until i see a body in some sort of living state I'm saying dead
Franky was hit by a TRAIN and survived when he was younger. This was BEFORE his cyborg upgrade too. After that, I'm never surprised when someone manages to survive a seemingly instant kill shot. Hell, Coby was shot in the chest and got up seconds later. Human's are just hardy in this manga.
On the other hand though; Kuina simply fell down some stairs and died. :getlost:
Flashback character role would indicate dead, but Sabo seems like an unusual case. GAH. Oda's trolling all of us with Sabo's ambigious death scene.
The fact there is doubt over whether he died…probably means he is still alive and well..somewhere. Every other death we've seen we were left in no doubt i.e Ace & Whitebeard.

Franky was Luffy/Zoro and thems age when that happened. he was like 17-20.
the best comparison is Kuina, due to both being flashback characters, both really strong and beating adults. And if someone can die falling down the stairs I dont' see how a cannon ball is so impossible.
btw i'm on the dead team if can't tell. When was Coby shot in the chest?
That kid must be alive.
Heh, I knew a thread like this would pop up sooner or later…ESPECIALLY since there is a break this week.
Well I'll state some of my arguments from the Chapter thread here:
What is the point of Oda, after such a long time in the series, finally showing us a real time death to only drown it with a flashback death RIGHT after? Why even go through the trouble of declaring Sabo as a 3rd brother instead of a good friend? For character development? Ya know what…fuck that...it does't even matter.
Why would Oda set up the meeting between Sabo and Dragon and show how Dragon was truly affected by what Sabo was going through...? He could have gotten Sabo killed and cause the same effect on Ace and Luffy without all the extra shit...it just seems Oda has involved Sabo way too much for him to be killed off now.
Why would Oda create this scene to leave us guessing like this...if he wanted us to know Sabo is dead then he would give us indisputable evidence of such...unless he is going to the next chapter. We can't really argue about this until the flashback is OVER
If Oda were asked if Sabo is dead...no matter what answer he may give...we will know the truth. If Sabo was meant to be dead then he would confirm it...otherwise him not wanting to comment on that most likely means he isn't dead.
The important part is that Luffy and Ace believe he is dead...and as we can see with the chapter release...that is exactly the case.
All this talk about Sabo being dead robs this and robs that...bullshit...Sabo dying robs Ace's death and Luffy's lamentation of it...how bout' that?
The set up for this "death" is just way too easy. There is a reason Oda did it this way as oppose to just giving indisputable evidence of Sabo's death.
Given how Oda is and how he feels about death, it's all common sense that that Sabo is alive. I could be wrong...and if I am...well...that was a shitty end to such a promising character...and I do not see myself saying such words about Oda...never have...never will because I will never underestimate him.
**SABO IS ALIVE!
Join the campaign!Believe it!**
Well but Sabo should have a big memory lose and he can't be a pirate or whatever… If yes he sucks heavily as pirate or Ace and Luffy were really too dumb to ever read the news about a powerful pirate who looks like Sabo
I hope he is dead, however, regardless of what attempt you try to introduce, it can go either direction. Remaining dead is a lot easier, or at least in some sense it could be… Having him survive can be more difficult.
Personally, I feel that it is a lot better to leave him deceased, or "dead" than to have him reappear from this attack.
But, chances are that Oda specifically created this character to bring into play much later, however, you could equally say that this character was created to get Luffy out of his slump, and bring a memory that ought to change him.
I wish for Sabo to stay dead, though.

Somehow I'm dissapointed in that post… I really thought you would have an amazing monster post theory about him being alive...
Really after Ace's will be revived or your Perona posts I really expected something like that
okay I think he's Dead but I don't see how people can be completely convinced he's Dead and not even look at the other side, doesn't anyone recall that when a character is said to be dead from an explosion/wreckage and they don't show there body there is an extremely high chance he's alive
Pell anyone
you know what i think I've changed my mind he's alive

Well I have to agree I would say he is dead for sure… But for now I just believe that... But it can change with next chapter...
Somehow his ending is a bit "strange"
Just BAAAAAAM and gone... Nothing more. that's why I'm waiting for next chapter

If Sabo is alive, I believe he will be a revolutionary. I just have this feeling that Sabo will be tied into story revolving around the King of High Town, whose face was always hidden.
I think we will have a rescue Sabo arc… And after that he will join xD
I thought most of the forum thought he was dead but alive/saved by revolutionaries is winning by a landslide.
@AdmiralYonkouMt.Bandit:

I still think he is dead… And to be honest all theories so far sucked major balls.
Now to that revolutionary theory... We know Dragon didn't came cuz Ace wasn't his true son and he didn't know that Luffy will be there. Iva hinted that if Ace would have been the son of Dragon, he would have come.
Now imagine... Sabo hears about Ace being executed WEEKS before but Dragon somehow said NO asshole you better don't show up like ALL THE YEARS before to save your "brother"... One word that Luffy seeing Ace as "brother" as well and Sabo knows how stubborn Luffy is and he would do all he could for Ace... And BAM Dragon would have shown up like Iva hinted
And please don't say Sabo was too far away or whatever... WB and 41 NW captains + Shanks after fighting Kaidou managed to come to the war. And I doubt they are staying at the beginning of the NW. He didn't showed up all the years and he should be smart enough to know that after being shot down by a huge ass ship everyone in the town would spread the news he have died. So why shouldn't he show up to clear up that he isn't dead over all this years? And I doubt Dragon would say... You can't meet them or whatever
The only thing I really can see is slave... or really a memory lose and he became a revolutionary.
If he would be a pirate at least Ace should know about that.
I think we will have a rescue Sabo arc… And after that he will join xD
oh hell no!!!! Two rescue arc are enough. No more.
This manga is supposed to be about aventure. Not about saving all the princesses who had the misfortune to be kidnapped by the " devilish and horrible" world gouvernment.
Though I think you were joking.

It was a joke but it could be like always.. 90 % of OP are rescue arcs… Rescue Robin, rescue Baratie, rescue Usopp's town, rescue shadows and and and
Why is this poll not public, rage rage rage.
I still think he is dead… And to be honest all theories so far sucked major balls.
I didn't ask if you still thought he was dead. I was just making a general statement regarding the poll and the impression I got prior to it.
You're still hung up on things Oda is capable of handling just because you are unable to imagine alternatives yourself.
@Airflow:

I fucked up and accidentally pressed the enter button and apparently mods can't change polls.
I'd be all for a mod redoing this poll making it public with most of the same options and merging it in to this thread.

No I know Oda can make it very epic and explain all things… but not one of the theories here are good. All of them are full of shit and wishful thinking.
But what I hate... Is that both sides are saying he is dead for sure or alive for sure with not waiting till the next chapter. After that you can speculate... And I doubt Oda will let that point open for the next 200 chapters and suddenly will show Sabo.
Expect to see it next chapter(s)
I think he's alive and is a revolutionary. Don't know what he could do, though…

So why are you telling ppl to waste their time imagining a scenario where Sabo gets a newspaper of Ace's execution date and doesn't go for w/e reason?
What if he didn't know anything about it at all? Or heard about it too late?
Then you go on to pretend like know where WB or the NW pirates were and saying shit like Kaidou was a t the war.

I don't know why so many ppl are sure the flashback is over or the next chapter will conclude this issue.

Well my biggest problem so far isn't the war alone… But the years no one of them ever heard about the other. Don't saying they have to meet. But they atleast could see the face of each other in the papers or Sabo is really a revolutionary and hide himself all the time even from them.
But I won't go to deep into that again and will wait till next week. but really that shit got annoying with Kaidou and Law theories.
The Kaidou and Law jokes are no different than the other jokes. Not sure why you're letting yourself be annoyed by them at this point.
Sabo meeting Ace beforehand depends on the log and eternal poses he has and if he has correct information on Ace's whereabouts. Ace and Luffy met by chance in Alabasta.
So it's not like Sabo could say "Oh look my brothers have bounties now I should go see them" sails boat to their exact location and meets them with no problems at all They didn't meet for w/e reason.

Rescue arcs turned out to be the most favourite ones though. To put it shortly, it does work well with the adventure theme.
do people really believe he's law?
Sabo is Davy Jones. His main attack is Hurt Locker.
Not making a decision until I see a body, but went with Schroedinger for kicks.
do people really believe he's law?
Yeah some do. Truthfully, I really dont get it how can they even come up with such shit even if it is a joke.

Sabo being Law would solve a single mystery… and add a lot of bizarre questions. No, thanks!

well i don't want the flashback to go on to much longer so i hope last chapter was it, which would mean dead sabo
i just want the SH's back together, i want to see what they were up to and how they got back and how much stronger they've become
Sabo met a girl, fell in love, and settled down before becoming an infamous pirate with a bounty.
