It's disappointing that chopper is not a man yet D:<
now that you mentions it, it would have been cool if luffy did grow taller
Actually, if any of you have noticed, he has grown slightly taller.
http://www.mangareader.net/103-57916-2/one-piece/chapter-599.html
But Oda's usually inconsistent with character height, so try not to think much of it.
Post disregarded :( Chopper is still 17
I think that is probably just the angle. even if he is slightly taller after the timeskip, it's not something that is immediately noticeable like Usopp's dramatic change. Luffy needs a more prominent change to his height to expel my disappointment. Just hope Oda doesn't forget.
I don't know if you guys watched Gundam 00. Setsuna's change after a 3-year timeskip is what I call change. He still had the same personality. I believe Oda can make luffy taller and look more mature and authoritative and yet still retain his boyish attitude. a pirate king who looks like a kid is quite annoying.
I don't know about you guys, but everytime I read this thread's title I immediately think on Naruto P2…and the war...and the swordsmen shinobi...and a shit load of stuff...is like if I can't correlate deception with OP...amd I sick?
Most disappointing thing for me in the FI arc was the Luffy vs Jinbei cliffhanger. Up until that point I'd had 100% faith in Oda but I have no idea why he made that a cliffhanger just to end it the way he did. It completely got a lot of people's hopes up for no reason.

Well, he was up to her belly button before the timeskip and now he's almost as tall as her. That's quite a lot but then again, we know Oda likes to fuck with sizes.
Pell not dieing…
That is all.
Most of the filler episodes.
I tend to skip them.

That is all.
This is like the 20th time I read this, but no one explains why? I kinda don't get, because it was not like he suddenly appeared out of nowhere a few arcs later? Him surviving the blast was part of the story (the presumed dead man standing before his own grave).
Is it because the bomb was supposed to be strong enough to demolish the plaza but not him?
Sorry, but if this baffles anyone than we read a different manga. Since the beginning of the series there were clear distinctions between regular fodder (that die from even one bullet) and those that survive incredible amounts of damage and force. Pell was the strongest fighter of the royal guard, with a Zoan devil fruit to boot. How is it weird if he can barely survive the explosion?

Maybe if Pell was an Awakened Zoan type it'll make a bit more sense?
Maybe if Pell's ''death'' hadn't been treated like a serious death, complete with touching final farewell and sacrifice, people wouldn't have so much of a problem with it.

Exactly.
I was also disappointed with the fact Luffy disnt change physically after the timeskip. He still looks like a kid.He could have got taller.I wanted him to look like that in the oneshothttp://www.mangahere.com/manga/one_piece/v00/c001.1/8.html
Exactly.

Fat luffy? You mean the gag moments?
Why should he get taller? 170+cm its normal height.
Luffy's like what, 5'7''-5'8''? That's a decent height, infact, that's in the same neighborhood as my height, and I'm older than Luffy is. It's just that Oda's art tends to skew torwards looking shorter when Luffy's involved (like, usually, you'll never know that Luffy's just a bit taller than Nami unless they're standing right next to each other).

But if they didn't threat it serious there would be no grave, thus no "dead man standing before his own gravestone" scenario. I mean you don't dig graves for people that are merely missing in action.
As for his farewell…well I guess he thought he would really die, and after all he nearly did.
I mean I would understand if people simply didn't like the grave scene itself (because it is really overused), but "the most disappointing" thing?

That lanky look definetly doesn't work for Luffy. He just looks like he hasn't grown into his body in that picture

I am going to keep on Jabras statement and other statements
There are enough basis to believe why he survived, he is a zoan, Chaka didnt believe that the bomb was enough to kill him and a doctor operated on him shortly after the bomb. But those reasons dont explain why to cheapen the sacrifice (Vivis flashback of him and etc.) with his survival. His death was to early for a fruit user, that would start going through the readers thought, and that would influence the story. What would happen to fruits after a person dies, and how it manifests ( why is a falcon and jackal alabastas animals, do they have some method to harvest the fruits, we know that is possible, with blackbeards method)
The only disappointing thing about post-timeskip Luffy is his new shirt.

The point isn't whether or not it's a respectable height(which given some of the height's we've seen in OPverse it really isn't) it's that in 2 years all that changed was his shirt.

he also has a sash at his waste
but what strawhats made huge changes? the only channges are slightly longer hair and different outfits
zoro and luffy also have new scars.
dragonball and naruto screwed you guys up too much. remember the strawhats were all of age where growing is pretty much done, they were not 12 year old kids like Goku or Naruto. a 17 - 19 doesn't change much.
but 5'7" is pretty short in america i know. average person is like 6' tall.

Nami, Usopp, Chopper(not brain point but other forms) and Franky(in particular) all have drastically different looks.
zoro and luffy also have new scars.
In one of the SBS Oda said his scar was from Akainu's attack during the war so Luffy's isn't new from the timeskip.

People don't stop growing when they turn 17, men can continue growing into their mid-20's. Also I was saying his height is not average for the OPverse not America…it's not uncommon for characters to be over 8' in OP.

nami is just longer hair, and franky would look same if he didn't do his body different. he is 37 years old or whatever he ain't going to change physically
chopper on other hand i agree with, but as i said he is like goku and naruto in that he was much YOUNGER
everyone but chopper is in an age that 2 years is not going to make them change much.
and i know luffy's scar is from aikanu, was just stating that due to the 590 some chapters he did not have it so its a new look for the time skip.
yea its not uncommon, but i can guarantee that those 8' character were like 8' when they were 17. any person that thinks luffy or any crewmate was going to be as tall as say whitebeard needs special help. they are seriously mentally handicapped and retarded.

Nami has noticeably grown somewhat taller(and sluttier) and overall had nearly a full character redesign. The point with Franky was that if Oda would do a complete redesign of his character he could have done more than give Luffy a new shirt.
chopper on other hand i agree with, but as i said he is like goku and naruto in that he was much YOUNGER
Chopper is only 2 years younger than Luffy and also he's a reindeer…they're supposed to be fully grown when they're like 5 years old.

Again, men can grow well into their twenties.

No one is arguing Luffy would be as tall as Whitebeard or even 8', just taller than he currently is.

If by 6 feet you mean 5'9''-5'10'' then yes
Feet measure confuses me ( meter rules ).
Anyway Luffy has good height for his persona and combat style , agile monkey :)
All this talk about height reminds me that that i barely got taller after the age 16 hahaha ( currently 1.61 cms).
If by 6 feet you mean 5'9''-5'10'' then yes
not fat enough to be an average american person either.

OH god don't make me think about that, it always brings up the thought of the new specialty dish of Iowa, Fried Butter!
Once again, this thread has reached new lows.
I haven't read the manga in a while (waiting until Fishman Isle finishes, no way am I reading that weekly again) but I was majorly disappointed with Zoro losing an eye, it seems. I know it was supposed to look "cool", but I look at an injury like that and see him as a cripple. No way does he get "stronger" from losing an organ - Zoro is the kind of guy who trains like a beast and has the mental prowess to attain Nirvanna. If he were, say, to focus on other senses like his hearing (which, incidentally, isn't as much an advantage as it is a trade-off to vision) he could do it without losing depth perception in his eye.
In other manga stories, blind swordsmen, while powerful, are not "the" most powerful swordsmen. There are trade-offs to be had relying on hearing, and the most powerful swordsmen are usually portrayed as having all the skill and knowledge of the blind one, but lack the weaknesses (Makoto Shishioh vs. Usui).
A 1-armed swordsman is a rival to a giant viking who generates earthquakes that can't be measured on the Richter scale. Zoro will be fine.
It's to look cool. Doubtful it will have any negative or positive effects on his combat power.

I shared your disappointment and it took me a lot of time to come around to the 'loss'. But,
personally most dissapointing things at moment for me are the lack of fishWOMEN. i see tons of fishmen and tons of mermaids and even a good amount of mermen, but there has been a huge lack of fishwomen in this arc. heck i don't recal seeing a fishwomen at all in this entire series BESIDES that one that was shown in hatchi's cover story

Losing an eye is hardly a major handicap for a warrior. Plenty of great historical warriors were one eyed, with Philip of Macedonia and Date Masamune immediately springing to mind
Plus it was probably done more for honor reasons to show his resolve to MIhawk rather than training.
I agree. I would have liked to have seen fishwomen. I don't understand why there wasn't more drawn in the recent arc.
Random but my friend likes those monster high dolls. I'm not into them but I thought the sea nymph character looked kind of like a fish woman. She still looks somewhat sexy if that was what Oda was concerned about. (Though I doubt it considering we get females that look like Lola, the mermaid lady from EL, and Ingram's wife.) Though she might look a little too human if that makes any sense. http://browse.deviantart.com/?qh=§ion=&global=1&q=Lagoona+blue#/d2xkenc
Yeah, the lack of good looking fishwomen is odd. I was hoping to see at least one that would allow me to erase the bad memory of Octopako. Kind of like how they all forgot about Kokoro after they met Caimie.
Maybe Sanji gets crowded by some at the end of the arc. He'll have such conflicted feelings.
Most disappointing thing in OP is not enough deaths. Can Oda kill some of the villians or good guys off? The fact Walpol is still alive kills me.

….................
Seriously?
I always thought that they should have killed Enel. What's to stop him from going back to Sky Island and take over it once again when Luffy is gone? And I wouldn't have minded if Wapol had died. He is the only canon villian to actually annoy me. I've never been able to watch the Wapol fight in its entirety a second time because I just don't like him. The only part I watch is where Luffy wins.

Enel can't be killed (or maybe he can, but it would be ridiculously hard to do) as he can just restart his heartbeats after "dying". Having him go to the moon was pretty much the only way to get rid of him (and even that might not be enough due to his very implied return).
