^Looks cool enough so far. Is there a little skeleton hand over his face, or is that just me?

I think thats part of his mask. Looks pretty good.
Not much of a picture, but okay. I didn't think Nolan would be going all green and veiny on us for Bane. Unless maybe until the final fight.
A Series of Promotional Viral Videos have been released :

LOL at the people who are claiming these are fake.
Do they know nothing about Chris Nolan? Do they not know what he did for TDK. This is right up his alley.
Plus, if someone was impersonating "The Fire Rises" they are capable of being sued, and since some of the videos have already been out for a week Nolan would have already come out and said they're fake.
Sigh…youtube, win will you get smarter?
Christopher Nolan's superhero sequel allegedly welcomed Liam Neeson to the London set on Monday where he filmed scenes as villain Ra's Al Ghul.
Neeson filmed for the day before jetting off to New York for the premiere of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, reports HitFix.
I jizzed.
I expect possibly flashback scenes as I don't think Nolan would go down the resurrection route.
( I will be very impressed if true cus they've already cast someone as a youthful Ra's, so this seems promising as if very faithful to continuity and details like X Men : First Class and look at how that one's panning out!)
Neeson will come back, half cyborg.
N-N-Neeson?
Yeah, you might have heard my squeal from miles away.
First, for those who didn't know, the teaser for TDK is "said" be attached to the final Harry Potter film. So all of us nerds who are going to midnight screenings of that will get the first look at TDK.
Second, some news for anyone who is interested in behind the scenes stuff, Wollaton Hall in Nottingham, England, is Wayne Manor for this film.
Oh and here's video of them working on a seen for the movie outside Wollaton Hall:
Not terribly exciting, I know, but it gives us some insight to the movie. The channel has other videos of trucks with trailers and what not showing up.
Might be good to keep an eye on the channel in the future though. Something interesting might actually come up.
Nolan hasn't made a bad movie yet, this will be epic.

Thank you very much. I want it now damn it.
I don't think this movie will end exactly on a good note. It might end on a somber and more bittersweet way.
Which I want. Man, this movie will surpass the Dark Knight judging from the opinions on the cast members who've read the script
I wonder how much money this will make, maybe it can beat Avatar.
I preferred Begins to Dark Knight. Begins was more a story where Dark Knight was a spectacle. I mean It was good don't get me wrong but Heath Ledger can't really carry the whole film.
I preferred Begins to Dark Knight. Begins was more a story where Dark Knight was a spectacle. I mean It was good don't get me wrong but Heath Ledger can't really carry the whole film.
Heath did carry the film(at least for me) he brought that pressure cooker suspense to the entire thing. Part of the message of end of Begins was about Batman and this influence on Gotham and how he might might be making the city better, but at the same time he might be making it worse as he keeps doing this crazy vigilante thing. That message was carried over excellently over into the Dark Knight which Heath brought a completely frightening figure who was a manifestation of chaos Batman fought and presented the feasibility of the 'Batman' symbol being distorted, and warped to the opposite of its intended doing.
Begins was good, it was amazing on how it delved deep into the psyche of a person that would put on an animal suit and portray it in a very believable fashion. I feel that Dark Knight takes that basis of Batman and challenges it in its story and I feel its a better film for that since it expands on it.
Granted The Dark Knight is too long, and the love interest is bit dull(better than Holmes IMO). I think people who say Begins is more of a Batman film than the Dark Knight was because Heath outperformed Christan even though he isn't in it very much. But really Begins was merely telling the origin story of how Batman became who he is, while Dark Knight challenges who is through a great force of unrelenting evil that test his limits.
And personally found it a better film since again it expands the story into more greater level.
No I agree Heath was amazing in it, but my point was one actor, even at his best, can't account for a whole film. Compared to Begins, the story for Dark Knight was all over the place.
There was nothing wrong with the story, it's the characters (with the exception of Joker and Dent) that fell flat and were hardly developed. When a movie is called The Dark Knight, I'd appreciate it if it was actually about the dark knight. I still consider it at the very top of comic book movies together with some others.
Still looking more forward to The Avengers. TDK's weakness is Whedon's speciality.
Agreed. I felt Batman wasn't really there. It was more a Joker movie.
For me, "Return of the joker " succeeds in being a batman and a Joker film. During the ending, Bruce's speech to Terry is very touching and simple.

Imo he carriethe film while sprinting. The only bad thing was Bale voice in that last scene. I was pissed because Heath was saying some great things, and you could barley understand the bat. I think they focused more on the villains in Dark knight rather then the hero. The 3rd film seems to be doing both through. I heard Batman parents graves will be built. I was Drob he never went to their graves in dark knight.
That reminds me; Adam West was spotted around filming. Apparently in-line for a quick cameo.

I think Batman was in it as much as he needed to be. I half agree with you the hardly developed part at least with Rachael, and damn I wanted to know more of Alfred(which I think they'll reveal more about in this one).

I think this is a misconception it was more a Dent film, then a Joker or Batman film in a lot of ways.
The Joker doesn't even appear that much, and gets less screen time than Batman and Dent. Its just that Heath did such a remarkable creating memorable frightening creature of chaos he outplayed both Christan and Ecklhart.
Plus you have to understand this movie is not just a Batman and Joker film, but a Batman and Dent film. Its arguably a Dent film more since Harvey is like the only one that actually has an arc that changes him.
Dent is this films greatest victim, and Jokers ultimate 'ace in the hole' in his sick game of nihilism vs order.
That reminds me; Adam West was spotted around filming. Apparently in-line for a quick cameo.
Wrong.

Thanks .
I agree, Joker was trying to prove a point with Dent, though it fell flat on it's nose when the prisoners threw the control into the ocean. (I loved that scene so much)
I loved how weak it made the Joker and Dent seem.
I still would like to know if Harvey died or not though. They shouldn't have killed him….
I'd still prefer the real story of the Joker anyday. TDK's Joker's motivation and obsession with Batman was kind of just there, but the comic Joker is very well connected with Batman. He's Batman's first mistake that constantly haunts him, and his foil in everyway.
They could've at least kept that in there instead of that mouth cutting thing...

Its an interesting take on the Killing Joke, but goddamn that scene could have been trimmed some.

.
He's obviously dead. In the very last scenes of the last movie show Gordon talking at his funeral and even Jonathan Nolan

Really? that's how it originally was in the comics(before they retconed it to that origin) The Joker is an absolute he has no real origin. In Batman #1 he just appears with no explanation for how he got that way, in the the Killing Joke press the message that this devil has true beginning. Also Batman was most likely not responsible for the Joker being the monster he is, its really left ambiguous whether Batman created him or not even in the comics.
Joker: If I'm going to have a past I'd prefer multiple choice!
Hell, you can even say that Batman in the Nolan verse is even somewhat connected to Joker in a way. It may be because of Bat's vigilantism that made this Joker anyway. They could've at least kept that in there instead of that mouth cutting thing…
That is an amalgamation of the lack of a real origin for the character, and the message of the Killing Joke.
Joker: If I'm going to have a past I'd prefer multiple choice!
In this version he's constantly telling lies about his origin, conflicting stories on how he came to be much like the Killing Joke. The Joker is scarier when he doesn't have an origin. Batman may or may not have created him, the ambiguity is scary. In fact
. 10:33
The Joker never true origin, and does not need one IMO.
I thought the red hood was his origin….
And the reason he couldn't stop laughing was because of the chemicals...
I've never read the killing joke.
I thought the red hood was his origin…
Its his most speculated origin of being.
And the reason he couldn't stop laughing was because of the chemicals…
There have been stories that claimed he's faking being more mentally insane then he actually is just to escape the death penalty, and torment Batman. Then some stories that suggested he was always fucked up in the head(and the chemicals are just icing on the cake). In both Batman Mask of Phantasm and the Burton version he was a murdering psychopath before the accident. Remember
Personally I never liked the idea of the chemicals, as person in real life if they fell in a vat of chemicals they not become insane.
I've never read the killing joke
.Its pretty overrated, and not Moore's best(
but I recommend you read it, if not for the story, which is pretty meh but the great art by Bolland(who's one of my favorite comics artist).Personally I never liked the idea of the chemicals, as person in real life if they fell in a vat of chemicals they not become insane.
QUOTE]I never thought it was the reason he was insane, but rather, the fact that he couldn't stop laughing (I believe he said it hurts to stop) was his motivation with pursuing Batman.
He did do it to him. Also without that origin, the Joker's main form of execution and Jason Todd's story doesn't make much sense. Albeit it doesn't make sense how the Joker survived, when a little dosage kills everyone else.
I understand your point though, it is creepier when you don't know what a makes a person tick sometimes.
The riddler's interview in Arkham Asylum was my favorite because of that."I showed my dad that I aced the test. He said I cheated, and he beat me until I admitted it."
"So you're upset your father didn't believe you?"
"Oh no. He shouldn't have, he was right."I don't know why that creeps me out, but it does.
But I actually prefer when there's at least some method to the madness.
My god I just found a way for Riddler to work in Nolan's verse!

Sweet poster, and it made me feel dumb… I didn't notice the Batman symbol for a while. I just thought the buildings were set and falling apart at random.
Great poster, love the design.
The Dark Knight was flames which represent the Joker's love for explosion and chaos.
Buildings destroyed: It could be Bane's signature destruction move. I wonder if he will be hired by someone to hunt batman. The batman sign is covered in light. I wonder if it means a light of hope. Maybe it represents Batman's redemption.
That poster was confirmed by DC to be legit.
Also, apparently, we'll be getting a stadium scene in this movie. Because, well, look: http://www.steelers.com/news/article-1/Fans-can-be-a-part-of-The-Dark-Knight-Rises-filming/a85c4719-2615-41a7-9aaa-021db31d069d
So, will this movie actually have Batman in it this time?

Actually it represents symbolically the theme of escalation seeds planting at the end of the Batman Begins and blossoming in the beginning of the Dark Knight. It may even signal Batman's possible negative influence on the city, which might have made it worse then better leading to its current poor state.
I expect this movie to ask that question
''Is Batman bad for Gotham city?''
This movie may include a doubtful Bruce Wayne, pondering whether taking up the life vigilantism was even a good idea in the first place.
So, will this movie actually have Batman in it this time?
Nah. It will have women dressing up like cats, steroid pumping men and a politician named 'Nixon'.

Doesn't seem all that different to me.
@Badass:
Doesn't seem all that different to me.
Well, its a more slightly redesigned bat suit incorporating a little bit of those gray colors that he wears in the comics version.
I'd say its looks better than the last one. It kinda looks like a militarized/modern version of his classic bat-suit(at least to me).

Hey folks, the site has changed, and according to Batman on film there might be trailer coming.
Here is the teaser!!!
http://gothamasylum.blogspot.com/2011/07/dark-knight-rises-teaser-trailer.html
I have a hard time hearing what Gordon says but it looks sweet.
Damn, this is going to end badly or bittersweet.
Nice thematic tie-in with the other films by using clips from the previous films.
It really nails into your head that their really concluding this story rather than making just a continuation .
Too bad the franchise gets another reboot treatment after this.
Looks pretty good for a teaser.
Although, I could barely hear what that voice(was it Bale) was saying.
And what were those people shouting at the end?

Bruce was saying: What if he doesn't exist anymore?
I'm refusing to watch till tomorrow night at my Harry Potter showing.
Alright. So it seems Bruce is going to quit being the Batman or fake his own death maybe?
That trailer felt exactly like I was thinking the story would be.
Is Batman good for Gotham?
This film will have him question that, and that trailer seems to be pressing it.
The Batman legend, is it good or bad?

Alright. So it seems Bruce is going to quit being the Batman or fake his own death maybe?
Nah, he might quit it near the end though. The psychological damage caused by the events of The Dark Knight might make him more 'Millerish'(if you know what I mean)
He might question his sanity, and might even blame Batman for attracting the criminals, and for the death of innocents(Rachael and Harvey).
Either way this film will not focus on Batman, but the man behind the mask Bruce Wayne.
Its kinda of sad, but he definitely won't be as happy as he was in the first two.
Bruce Wayne in Begins( lost, angry uncontrolled at the end more in control
Bruce Wayne in the Dark Knight(hopeful, optimistic and at the end of grieving,)
Bruce Wayne in Dark Knight Rises(Angry, grieving, more brooding and most importantly guilty.) He's in danger of becoming more obsessive, and more paranoid.
