A neat thing about sandstorm that the game doesn't tell you, Rock type Pokémon's Special Defense is increased by 50%, which is pretty neat. (And probably why so many of them have good defense and mediocre-terrible special defense)
You have to set up a game sync with your DS game (using a wireless internet connection; I believe the setup is at the start-up menu where you load your save and whatnot) and then in your Pokemon game, go to the c-gear's "Online" section and use Game Sync to "tuck in" a pokemon that you'll explore with in the DreamWorld. When you go to the Dream Isle you can find pokemon that will want you to play a minigame. Do so and you "befriend" them. Eventually you'll reach a tree where you can "wish" for one of the befriended pokes at the cost of a berry. Once you do so you can't return to the island until the next day (you have to wake up your pokemon but can't tuck it back in until 24 hours pass). Once you've woken up your pokemon that made a wish for the poke you want, you use entralink and go to the forest. You'll get a pseudo-Master Ball called "Dream Ball" to catch the pokemon there with.
You can also send items you acquire in the Dream Island/Isle/whatever by selecting them in the treasure chest in your Dream World house. You pick them up in-game from a boy next to the Entralink forest's entrance.

I have a questiom. I noticed Chandelure has Shadow Tag as a hidden ability, but never noticed this before at all. I always switched out when I'm faced with one. Does hidden abilities activate differently or something?

there is no such thing as a hidden ability. its just how they labeled the ability obtained through dream world pokemon.
your Chamdelure has only ONE ability, and so do anyones else chandelure. Chandelure has a possible 3 different abilities thoguh. Yours could be flash fire or flame body if found or bred on your game. IF you got it through the dream world, its ability would be Shadow tag.
Just go to your pokemon summary and look at its stats and you should be able to read what its ability is.
AGAIN REPEAT there is no hidden abilities. your chandelure has ONLY ONE ability. No ones pokemon can have more than one ability. Though as stated above, chandelure has a possible 3 different abilities it could have.
Ah, I get it. In that case Bulbapedia mixed up a few. It lists Darmanitan's Zen Mode as a Hidden Ability, when that's the ability he typically comes with. Geez… I hope this does not mean I gotta get a Sheer Force one in DW.
Edit: Wait wait. Nevermind. If you encounter the statue ones, it has Zen. Evolved ones get Sheer Force. Ah good. Looks like I found someone for my Sunny Day team.

In theory, there will be expansions of a sort to the DW or promotions that allow you to get pokemon that aren't currently available.

I forget the exact explanation but the sprites for the 5th generation pokemon do not exist in the elix forest I believe. Except for the 2 ingame pokemon they will not be available until something like Pokemon Grey, or possibly that new Pokemon for wii that we should be seeing later this year. But there are so few Pokemon left out right now especially ice types, I imagine new areas will be released as time goes by. But man its already been a while.
Hey does anyone have a female Speed Boost Carvanha from the DW? I've been looking and looking but cant find one to save my life. Same with DW female Gligar, anyone?
Just stopping by for some quick advice. Do you guys think it is overkill to have 4 out of 6 pokemon in my rain dance team to know rain dance? Or do you think that is just the right amount? I'm between two moves for my Magnezone right now and I don't know if I should give him rain dance or something else.

While its good for any given critter that benefits from raindance to have access to it for solo journeys, if you've got a dedicated team setup for it, you probably don't need it on that many of them.
Especially if you've got a damp rock.

Usually 2 is fine for a weather team, but you should always have a bulkier pokemon have it.
Yeah. The dedicated raindancers should be able to afford to both take a hit setting up, and potentially switching out, depending on their speed… and the defense of the thing they're switching into.
Auto weather pokemon are good too. Like DW Politoad(seen them a few times on random matchup). But remember, there are other guys out there that would want to fight you for the weather advantages too. You have no idea how many times I have juggled my Sunny Day with a Tyranitar.
Here's the team I'm working on. I got everyone except for Venasuar, so consider that a vacant spot. Note, I'm strictly a double battler.

Liiligant is frail, but outspeeds alot of threats. I use Teeter Dance on random matchups and when I'm successful, I usually get a ton of mad people that rage-quit. So annoying!! Her special attack is okay, but a bit poor since I haven't got the hand of EV training(usually a friend does that for me). She has Teeter Dance, Solarbeam, Growth, and Leech Seed.
Chandellure does not seem to get alot done for me since I'm not using it right. The only thing It does right is taunting spore happy opponents. Has Fire Blast, Taunt, Protect and Shadow Ball.
Volcarona is alright but frail. I need a better moveset for double battles, so I may end up replacing Quiver Dance with something else. Fiery Dance already does alot for me. I'm not too sure about Rage Powder since she's always a target to Rock Slide or Stone Edge…. Luring moves seems useless. Has Quiver Dance, Bug Buzz, Fiery Dance, Rage Powder.
Darmanitan… I'm always a fan of glass cannons, but he breaks soooooooooo easily. The Sheer Force bonuses on Rock Slide or Brick Break don't seem that great either. He's good for taking out bulky setup Pokemon with Flare Blitz with a Fire Gem however. Other than that, I'm thinking of replacing him. He's no team player. Had Flare Blitz, Protect, Rock Slide, Brick Break.
Ninetails. Auto Sunny Day is great, but her moves are a bit lacking. I used more support than an attacking set. Safeguard for people that rely on stat changes, Roar for force switch outs(useless most of the time), and Toxic for a stall fodder(this is when people usually rage-quit). Planning on changing her tactics entirely. Has Flamethrower, Safeguard, Roar and Toxic.
Last spot is vacant. Looking for something that would fit into most situations. Maybe a uber or something annoying. If you guys have any suggestions, shoot.

I'd recommend that you hang on to your Chandelure for the time being and your Venasaur is still an alright candidate for the vacant spot. However if your Darmanitan is not working out for you, I'd recommend you switch him out for a dragon that would benefit from Sunny Day. Like Salamence with Flamethrower for instance.
Really the big problem I see is that you don't really have a good bulky tank on your team. At least not one that compliments your team.
That's why I was hoping Venusuar would fill the spot for a tank. I have seen those things take alot of hits without falling….(maybe because it was within a rain-dance team). Rhyperior seems like a cool tank. I'll consider him. As for dragons, I never used a Salamence since Ruby... mainly because they always seem like frail targets in double battles.
Anyway, I'm going to give these a try. Cresselia, Rhyperior, Selamence, and Swampert(something to murder Tryranitars).
well damnit. been doing mass ev training of pokemon at once. you know having 2 exp shares and thus able to do three at once.
well was working on a dry skin croagunk, and had finshed and was just doing some leveling and went to look at moves recently and noticed that the moves i need are egg moves. fricken a, i think the time it took to find a dry skin and female croagunk must have clouded my mind that once i FINALLY got one i forgot i needed to breed. so now i got a level 60 toxicroak ev trained, but with shitty moves.
i was thinking about starting a few other pokemon, but this incident just turned me off for a while, and i think i'll just play with the pokemon i have right now. have like 15 pokemon i can switch between nicely

well what i have set up is to have 2 pokemon that benefit big from sunny day and 2 that benefit from rainy day. Then i have a castform, and then last position with whatever pokemon i feel like at the time.
then when it comes ot battle, look at their 6 pokemon and its easy to guess what type of build they will do. and then select the 3-4 pokemon to counter or benefit from him.
Yeah, I changed my strategy around a little. Some teams are nothing without Rain Dance, so I replaced one of my Toxics for a backup Sunny Day on someone that isn't Ninetails(Cresslia). Works great! I just now defeated one of those decent Japanese trainers, but he ragequit… OUT-RAGE!! I wanted to save that video too.
yea, seems all people i play online are all from japan, and like 75% of the time if I'm going to win, they QUIT

i mean i can see why he quit, i had my leafeon left and he had only a water guy left and it was sunny day in effect. my leafeon is extremely fast too, and if he knows anything about leafeon's, he would know they are really fast to begin with, but i got a good iv in speed and maxed the ev in speed too for it. so barely any pokemon go before my leafeon.
funny thing though, i decided to do synthesis instead of attacking, so i wouldn't have killed him anyway. it was sunny out, so wanted to use synthesis before i moped the floor with his WATER guy. but big pet peeve there of mine, quitting matches. you get a loss by quitting, so why not just finish?

I'm thinking about running a Golduck in my team to stop all weather effects for fun. Or just the most stall-ly team possible.
^Golduck on its own is fragile against Sunny Day teams with grass moves though. Cloud 9 is good, but I wished he was given something that creates a weather instead. It can work in certian situation, but not many. That, and I'm not too familiar with human single battles.

Record of the match is wiped clean. You gain no win or loss. Which is a shame….

I don't get it either as I never seen this many people ragequit through random wifi(before I use to play in PBR). That last match seemed really fun too, but I guess he was just being a douche… The dude had over 600 wins and he lost to someone with 13(out of 50).
Anyway, I uploaded my last match: 46-42997-07164. I think my changes were good.

thats just dumb, nintendo NEEDS to fix that for the next pokemon game.
sure you'll get a few babies crying wolf saying "but what if i lose connection in a middle of a game" dude its a freaken game. records don't even do anything either. hell when i face someone i seem to recal seeing how many wins they have. thats it. they could be 500/500, or 500/0 and it would be the same to me. all i see if 500 wins. i just don't get how someone feels any more special seeing their record at 500/0, verses 500/500, when they know damn well that they quit 500 games in order to have a spotless record.

Since I didn't played PKMN since the original Gold because of not owning any other Nintendo handheld I was wondering if I should buy B/W now (bought a 3DS).
How high is the possibility that "Grey" (or whatever the next one's name is) is for 3DS?
Don't want to buy B/W and later the 3rd game is 3DS exclusive.
I really want to play this generation, looks really fun. But I can wait if the 3rd is for the 3DS.

i would wait till e3, since we are so close. i see 0% chance of grey being on 3ds, but just the sole fact that grey may be coming out soon, may just want to wait for that.
i would actually be happier if grey was 3ds though. i always feel like i'm missing out when the 3rd game of each generation comes out, cause well i don't want to buy what i feel like is just a patched up pearl or white or ect. but it being on 3ds it would feel like it would have to be a big revision. they would need to actually make 649 3d sprites for each pokemon. the world might start to actually feel more 3d and not just a top down 2d game that has been aroudn since pokemon red.

the 3rd games like grey or platinum have never ADDED pokemon have they? i mean they might add a new item that when a certain pokemon holds it, it's form changes, but its still same pokemon. So really if you just wait for 6th gen game and trade over your pokemon from 5th gen they usually give that item that changes their look in the new game.
for instance in white i was given palkia, and dialga's orb. and also the orb for girattini, which changes his appearance, which was introduced in PLATINUM

Kyurem is likely going to be the inbetween legendary, since he already looks like a fusion of the other two and only has a partially told story. Expect an item that gives him a "complete" form and a different typing in Grey.

Even though it makes me a gigantic whore saying this, I honestly wouldn't mind seeing a R/S/E remake.
A R/S/E remake coming soon followed by Gray version would fit into the cycle of new generation > remake of game two generations past > third version.

Also, i really wish they'd do away with roaming Pokemon. I absolutely hate the fact that the stats & nature of that Poke are all but decided and you can't do anything about it. I also hate the fact that you MUST capture Reshiram/Zekrom straight away….
If they re-make Ruby/Sapphire I hope they tweak the levels of the Pokemon in the large expanse of water before the Ice Twins gym. It took forever to level up to anything resembling a match for them due to all of the pokemon in the surrounding area capping at ~lvl 35. I got so discouraged I stopped playing the game, the only poke-game I never beat.

They wouldn't be doing that any time soon because the whole point behind remaking the first 2 Gens was to make linking the games and trading Pokes easier as the GBA evolved in the DS.
