Fire/Psychic sounds interesting and would probably make that Pokémon godlike.
I guess another Water/Fighting wouldn't hurt. But, at least, make it fast.
Grass/Dark, just because Shiftry and Cactune sucks.
A group of starters that, in their second evolution, gain the attributes of the Fighting-Psychic-Dark triangle would be interesting. Make it so that the final evolutions are:
Water-Psychic
Fire-Dark
Grass-Fighting
Slowpoke
Houndour
Breloom

Grass/Dark^^^^ fixed.
Poliwrath
Nuzleaf
Ok, if you want never-before-officially-done type combos, how about:
Water-Ghost
Fire-Psychic
Grass-Electric
I'd love to see a Water/Rock or a Water/Fire. Just to see the hilarity of it.
Oh wait….Relincanth....

No, it's not that.
I was using Pri: "Grass/Fire/Water" and Sec: "Fighting/Psychic/Dark."
However, Water/Ghost sounds very creepy.
Water-Grass, Grass-Fire, and Fire-Water starters.
For the hax.

And Corsola.
But yeah, they need to go crazy and start mix and matching these types. And for god's sake, tone down the water pokemon! (Finneon is the dumbest, most pointless pokemon in existence)
@robbybedfart:
coughUnowncough
Agreed.
I was going to say "Chatot".
Nintendo DS' Pokémon mascot.
@robbybedfart:
coughUnowncough
Pfft, at least Unown had a gimmick to it. Finneon is just…"Hey, I've got a great idea guys, let's add a completely generic-looking fish pokemon to add to the already grotesque amount of water pokemon we already have! It won't even have a second type! Just plain old water."
Honestly, it doesn't even look like a pokemon. It looks like it could be a real life fish.
@robbybedfart:
coughUnowncough
This is why I found the fake Unown key pokemon so amusing… such a stupid idea. Maybe if they made a good legendary worth catching all the different Unown... but that'd be something way overdue at this point and they're better off making a FEW new legendaries. None of that 4th generation legendary craziness...
And I agree that they've made way too many fish pokemon now... if they're gonna make water types, at least be more creative than generic-fish#X
They should make a "Fire-type" Fish Pokémon…
Has there been a Psychic/Rock-type yet?
@robbybedfart:
coughUnowncough
Unown come with the gimmick of being able to spell your name with them. Finneon does not have that.
@KingofSarus:
I was going to say "Chatot".
But Chatot's awesome…

Yeah, but…. finneon can...it can...evolve into Luminneon?
@Badass:

Everyone knows Luminneon is a anorexic Seaking that cut off its horn.
@Cyan:

Lunatone and Solrock… well technically they are Rock/Psychic but its the same difference.
We need a Fire Dragon. It'll eliminate that annoying weakness to Ice.

Wuttya got against ice types?

Got nothin' against Ice, but the Draggies sure do.

FUCK NO, LUMINNEON!
Lunatone and Solrock… well technically they are Rock/Psychic but its the same difference.
Rock/Dragon, then. It's what Onix should've been typed as.
A Grass/Steel type would be interesting. Just don't set it near any open flames…
Pokemon's been stale after Gen II.
Gen III was ok, Emerald was fun but the Pokemon pretty much sucked, not many memorable Pokemon besides the 400th legendary ones.
Pokemon Black and White just announced
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/bw/index.html
And no, he's not kidding. Pokemon Black and White.
Wasn't there supposed to be some big info today?
April 15th the website says, Corocoro will leak on Sunday along with Pokemon Sunday information
Seriously? april 15? Is the launch of the page right?
Bah, they'll just release Pokemon Grey a year after.
New pokemon games are black and white…?
http://www.pokemon.co.jp/bw/index.html
Hm, guess they'll be using the old Game Boy-era graphics to provide the authentic monochrome experience.
Sigh… let the race wars begin.

And no, he's not kidding. Pokemon Black and White.
Well, whatever. Actually, now that I think about it, the whole black and white thing may come into play with some new legendaries (perhaps the opposing forces of good and evil?)

Seriously doubt it. One of the forever unchanging staples of Pokemon is the fact that the two versions of each generation are basically exactly the same, save for a few version exclusive pokes. Ho-Oh/Lugia, Groudon/Kyogre, and Dialga/Palkia were constructed in very symmetrical ways (without the influence of villains, both are always good, or at least neutral), and although it's not impossible to imagine Gamefreak messing with the formula, it seems like a bit much to ask.
And associating white with good and black with evil is not something that the Japanese would be nearly as inclined to do as Westerners. It's simply not as prevalent in that culture the same way it is here…
Although honestly I hope you're right! After all, where can they go after god, besides such fundamental "concepts" as good and evil?
The third version will be Pokemon Grey. Watch it.
The third version will be Pokemon Grey. Watch it.
Of course!
Now, if they do some stupid shit… like brown. lmao
or Pink... :getlost:
They better be glad the logo looks badass repeling each other.
lol everyones gonna choose black.
lol everyones gonna choose black.
Haha, the funny thing is that it's true.
"I want Black version because nig-, I mean, black people are cool!"
"I want Black version because it represents Sasuke…"
...
For some reason, I want White version now...
Make this thread to give it a proper name for fifth generation discussion.

I'm not saying they're going to change the formula. I'm just speculating that the two legendaries might represent the opposing forces of good and evil.

I don't claim to be an expert in Japanese culture, so I'll take your word for it. However, even if it isn't as prevalent, it doesn't mean it doesn't happen (take Bleach for example). Also, they know that Pokemon is a worldwide phenomenon, and even if Japan doesn't focus on black and white very much, they know plenty of other countries do.
Although honestly I hope you're right! After all, where can they go after god, besides such fundamental "concepts" as good and evil?
Eh, I think it would be a neat idea.

Well, Asia in general is big on the 'no true evil' concept. The philosophy of balance is widespread as well, so all that may be considered evil is just as necessary and inherently 'good' as things that we might consider to be righteous and vice versa. I'm guessing the duality will be played out in their designs, but not in their behaviors. They'll both probably follow the neutral trend of version legendaries as CCC suggested.
To those going on about race: You ever think about the Yin and Yang symbol? What colors are on there, pray tell? ;)
So in total for every game:
Red/Blue/green/yellow-Primary
Gold/Silver/Crystal
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
Pearl/Diamond/Platinum
now black and white? man the listings for pokemon get odder and odder now XD
LOL..the new team enemies will be Team Dark and Team Light maybe? O.o
You know this game probably won't do anything innovative or new in anyway whatsoever but who the hell gives a shit. Pokemon's a big cow and it keeps getting milk but goddamn it it's some mighty fine-tasting milk and as long as it ain't spoiled I'll keep drinking it.
I think the teams in this game will pull a Ruby/Magma and Sapphire/Aqua.
Instead of weather, they'll fuck with time.

Hope their selection of Pokemon is better than Magma/Aqua. And Galactic, for that matter.
