Oh, I'd like to try frog's legs, alligator/crocodile, and whatever other reptile is normally eaten. And sushi from Japan.
-
Frog's legs are pretty good. I've been dying for some gator or crocodile meat. It sounds delicious.
-
Fish is meat .
Ramen in Japan, that poisoned blowfish thing, fermented soybeans, and caviar.
Fish is awesome!! High five! Though I hate having to deal with too many small bones. I'm rather good at picking meat from those delicate bones, but it's a hassle when every other second you have to pluck another bone from your mouth. Fugu and natto eh? My mom eats natto all the time. You know what's fascinating is the amount of effort a chef needs to exert to get a special license for preparing fugu. I had gyudon in Japan and even though it was 90% rice and onions, it was delicious.
-
Snakes and iguana are good, but then agian… The guy that cooked it used alot of spices. Spices make anything good.
-
And you are an islander? Shame.
been an islander for 11 years
Ich bin ein berliner.
I just lived on an island but never wanted to, though
And we dont have exotic animals. -
When I went to Spain we were served some ham type thing that wasn't very good but two of the people in the group were pescatarians (one not by choice) and they got a whole fish, bones and all, unskinned. I should have said I was a vegetarian, their meals 90% of the time looked better than what the rest of the people ate.

Whatever happened to beef, pork, poultry, and seafood?

Whatever happened to beef, pork, poultry, and seafood?
Don't like, like, only if it's chicken and don't like
-
minced meat and steaks and chicken drools
-
All this talk about reptile meat is making my taste buds cry.
-
The thought of people eating Crocodiles make me laugh…

The thought of people eating Crocodiles make me laugh…
Are you implying something there? :ninja:
-
They taste like banana.

@post move
What's the point of having a general discussion thread, then? Might as well just make endless threads about stuff if this is going to continue. -
Yeah I'm starting to get the feeling we can't talk about anything anymore without it getting moved to some thread I didn't even know we had. What, are we supposed to check every single thread ever made to be sure we can talk about it?
-
Well… Food is like always the main topic there.
-
Huh… I honestly never knew this thread existed. Ah well. I wonder if exotic birds taste good.. Flamingos anyone? :ninja:
-
They probably taste like shrimp since that's pretty much all they eat.
-
Shrimp turns them pink~
-
Yes… yes it does.
-
Would a flamingo eating something else turn them into a different color? :ninja:
-
I'm pretty sure that's how it works, yes.
-
I wanna see a flamingo eat blueberries now.
-
note to self: don't ever come to this thread before eating lunch.
but since this is a food thread, I will now complain about the disastrous fact that so few people have heard of or eaten durians before. they're called the King of Fruits, for crying out loud.
here's a picture:
edit: changed the picture to a hopefully better-looking one.
-
It looks kinda gross to be honest.
I've been vegetarian for 9 days now and I haven't even noticed it. However, sooner or later the meat will claim my soul again.
I even lived on an island for 10years… I was surrounded from fish...
What island did you live on?
-
Fried crocodile taste pretty good actually. A bit like fried chicken, but with a sweet and sour tang. A little bit like calamari, but with more meat.
@Mr.:
Would a flamingo eating something else turn them into a different color? :ninja:
In the world of Vivi Pinata, yes.
-
I eat pretty much anything
I'm very open and would love to try a massive amount of different foods and shit.
I love Mexican food, Japanese food, Italian food and French food.
My favorite Mexican dishes would probably be lengua [de vaca] (cow's tongue), enchiladas verdes, tamales, and carne asada. As for Italian food, I'd love to try duck spaghetti. Sounds really fucking good. Looks it, as well. I fucking love duck.
Yum yummy
And don't even get me started on Benihana's.
I'd love to try fried crocodile and Roo burgers (kangaroo) as well as an ostrich omelet

My favorite Mexican dishes would probably be lengua [de vaca] (cow's tongue), enchiladas verdes, tamales, and carne asada. This Cuban restaurant not far from my house makes the best carne asade. They give the freaking steak on top of a large pile of mash potatoes. Both taste so damn good.
Cuban food does vary in taste. I'm not the biggest fan of wet cake, but DAMN can they have a good sandwhich. Cuban sandwhich: pig, mustard, pig, pickles, pig, cheese, pig, put between two slices of Cuban bread, pressed down with heat to perfection, and more pig.
I may stray from my heritage in many ways, but GOD pork tastes so fucking good!

I wanted to live vegetarian the whole april. 3 weeks went by, then I desperately needed a Döner with much meat…..
I tried Tofu often and it never tasted good to me... So it really was a pain in the Ass.What island did you live on?
Rügen
-
Carne assada is delicious
here we have "bife rolê"
that is wrapped steak around a cooked carrot
..
but i also like yakisoba (a lot)
and tempura -
What's not to love about tofu? Try frying it. Or have marble dofu. Mmm~
Anyone here a fan of lamb? I live in America, and I get the feeling that none of my friends like it. They say it tastes weird or that it smells funny. :l
-
i do like lamb pizza
or lamb gyoza -
I gotta try lamb pizza. It sounds awesome. I also wanna eat roast mutton for some reason. I think this is LOTR's fault. :P
What's the best kind of pizza out there? Or the weirdest kind? I swear, there's nothing someone out there in the world wouldn't put on a pizza.
-
The weirdest ones for me:
Pineappple
M&M´s
Cheetosthe best ones:
Catupiry
pepperoni
Tuscanhow about a square pizza ?
-
Lamb's good. Though I like pretty much every meat that I've ever tried.
-
Same here Sakon, I'll eat pretty much any type of meat. Vegetables on the other hand… :X
-
I'll eat the majority of vegetables. Carrots are one of my least favorites but I'll still eat them. Water chestnuts I cannot stand, though. I don't know if they're a vegetable or not but I just can't stand them.
-
I hate onions.
That is all.
-
I've always been weird about vegetables. I love eating raw onion pieces, but when they're cooked I can't stand them. I was also one of the only kids I knew who loved to eat broccoli and spinach.
There was a time when I only ate corn niblets. I don't even remember. I guess I was just weird like that. -

the same goes for me! :D
I love broccoli and spinach _ and broussels sprouts and peas:wub:
My Dad hates peas but everytime he cooks and makes something with meat and Potatoes he makes peas just for me, too. -
My mom bought this fruitcake for 1.50…. After eating a piece, all those American cartoon parodies of people throwing fruitcake away made sense. The ones my mom makes are really good.
-
Real talk (also known as "no bullshit") you guys.
What is the best side order for chicken?
Where have you been.
Where have you been? I miss your fucking stalking.
-
depends what kind of chicken we're talking about here.
-
Real talk (also known as "no bullshit") you guys.
What is the best side order for chicken?
If it's fried, either mashed potatoes or biscuits.
If it's, like, roasted, I like having either green beans or some sort of roll.
-
Either or actually.
-
Considering the only safe chicken joint here is KFC, I'm really fond of their mac and cheese. At the same time, it's just not KFC without a side of potatoes and gravy. And biscuits.
So… Potatoes and gravy above all else, the mac and cheese if the order calls for additional sides or I feel like tacking on another side anyhow.
EDIT: If its homemade, it's gotta be green beans. Everything is better with green beans.
