You sure about that? I remember reading in an interview that Gaimon is his favorite character. But Buggy is definitely his favourite villain though.
Things that you would hate to see in the manga?

So thanks to that we have this:
-
"And then Luffy woke up from a very long dream"
That would be hilariously awesome, actually.

No, Gaimon is his favorite character to draw. I think he's better off not saying who his overall favorite character is, as it would probably cause very heated debates and fan letters about why this character is getting too much/too little focus, is not getting enough character development etc.

I would hate to see the mermaid princess joining the crew would be stupid because she has the same head as Nami.

Any sane person would as well.
-
There are other reasons why the mermaid princess is unlikely to join the crew aside from the fact that she looks sort of like Nami.
-
Yeah, there's several reasons:
She is too young I think.
She has not pants, think of the children!
She can't go to the toilet on the ship because she can't fit in the door. -

She can't go to the toilet on the ship because she can't fit in the door.I don't think she'll join, but I'd like to point out that Chopper is only 17. Since she's been stalked for 10 years she's probably in her late 20's.
-
Chopper is 17 already?
They grow so fast.
-
@Sonic:
Yeah, there's several reasons:
She has not pants, think of the children!this made me laugh for some reason.
but her being "too young" and "too big" are bullshit. Chopper was 15 when he joined. She may act immature, but doesn't luffy? and as for size, that's such a stupid reason. Franky is like 10 feet tall and 8 feet wide these days, that don't in in a door either. Plus, the enemies of One Piece have been getting progressively bigger and bigger. So size might be something positive?
but I still doubt she'll join, if only because she seems like someone who can't do anything.
-

Franky has no pants!
She can poop in the ocean. She can also swim alongside the ship. -
@Mr.:
She can poop in the ocean. She can also swim alongside the ship.
But hypotheticaly she's supposed to be the next crew member, not the strawhat Laboon.
-
Luffy doesn't like her, he can't pronounce her name, she's a crybaby, she's a coward, and most likely is nothing to the Strawhats who just spent two years training.

Luffy said pretty much the same thing to Coby when they met, but he immediately started liking him the moment he showed some spine.
But you are right in the regard that who ever joins next is going to have to be crazy strong. Especially since four members of the crew took entire castle hostage! -

He would ask him, but Luffy thinks his growth spurt has prevented him from using doors.

Who needs doors anyway? (These posts will not doubt be deleted as off topic, lol)

On topic! Hmm things I would hate….Nami's real family not being seen or at least mentioned. This there is still a good chance Oda will not cover, as he stresses family is not blood relatives, but those your close to, but Nami and Nojiko were both orphaned, I'm a bit curious about this, especially since Nami has that weird connection to weather, and can sense it.
-
I would hate not seeing what the SH's have done these past two years.
-
@Cyan:
Well, too fucking bad, Bon will turn out to be alive, there's going to be two more crewmates, and Bleach will still suck.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Am i the only one who laughed out like crazy at this?
Anyway, I'd hate the SH overpowered but at the right middle between week and powered

Someone's got it right. Gee wiz. :P
Still, I think it's too soon for the crew to get a new member when we haven't seen what they're fully capable of. Maybe next arc. :D

I was just trying to point out how easily swayed Luffy's opinion can be.
-
I was just trying to point out how easily swayed Luffy's opinion can be.
Oh. I missed that somehow (skimming, sorry). However, I would respectfully disagree with you on that point, regardless. Luffy has a solid ability to make judgement calls about people–it's one of the uncanny abilities that makes him who he is--and he is never wrong.
While he can develop a respect for someone who becomes brave after being a coward, that doesn't change his fundamental feeling about who they are as a person in OP, if that makes sense.
In other words, I do not feel that his opinion about a person can be fundamentally swayed, never mind easily.
It took some time and circumstances that left him with no choice, for example, before he accepted Franky. A more recent example is Croc, who, when last he voiced an opinion, he absolutely did not trust at all, no matter what actions he took or what Jinbe said.
-
Ace comes back
Crocodile as a good guy; also would be weak if he actually was naive in the past and doesn't have some sort of bigger plan, and doesn't get better
Anything where Luffy, whether it be Hancock or Nami, gets romantically involved with a character
Hancock joining
Blackbeard sucking
No more deaths
Also, too many deaths, caused by weak characters -
I'm good so long as Oda doesn't pull any Kishimotos.
-

Zoro just killed about 500 hundred people that just threw Luffy a party, and Luffy didn't know why. That's the kind of thing that could make anyone easily chang their mind. Besides he made amends with him as soon as he heard Zoro's side of the story.

Doesn't change the fact that how easily swayed Luffy's opinion can be.
He also did that with robin
Franky
Buggy
Bon Clay
SmokerLuffy's not the intellectual type…
his opinion of people change a lot in the story. -

his opinion of people change a lot in the story. The Zoro thing was a bad example. Who in the story wouldn't change their opinion on someone who just killed all the people being friendly to them.
He was never really hostile with Robin in the first place.
He only accepted Franky after he helped take down the CP9 and build the thousand sunny.
He did change his opinion on Buggy, I don't know why exactly.
He liked Bon Clay when he first saw him, and then liked him again when he sacrificed himself the first time.
I don't think that his opinion on Smoker has changed at all, sure he saved him, but he still thinks of him as an enemy. -
I don't think Luffy regards Smoker exactly as an enemy, clearly not as much as he regarded Blackbeard as an enemy. They're actually 2 opposite reactions from someone that was hunting him, and someone that was just giving him moral after the bar's grudge.
For luffy, smoker is more of an obstacle then exactly an enemy.
He kinda knows that Smoker is mostly doing his job on trying to capture him, and he never actually made a point of wanting to have bad feeling about smoker. Most of their interactions was basicly resumed to:
"Luffy: Oh, hai! mr. marine."
"Smoker: I cant haz u free, little pirate kiddo."
"Luffy: aaaaaww! Let me run away, i still needz to be pirate kingz :P. kkthxbai"His behaviour is more like the behaviour he has on Garp. He knows he's lawful good but, despite being his grandson, he just wants to run away before Garp changes his mind and beats him up for choosing to be a pirate, or at least avoid any possibility of a fight.
I think Luffy and smoker will still obviously meet sometime on the new world, and i believe they'll actually meet twice. While on the first time i think Smoker will actually make a last attempt on capturing luffy, and actually think that on the second time Smoker will somehow help/give a hand to luffy on some point of the history.
I say it's bound to happen since Smoker already realized Luffy's not exactly the pirate stereotype that lives upon stealing or ruinning people's life, as he reckoned on the Alabasta's arc. He actually may someday trust to ruffy his duty of changing the things he seems to hate much on the modern pirates and marines' worlds
-
I'd believe Coby would be with Smoker in the final war arc, maybe fighting alongside Luffy or after the fight they'll be going to build the new marine with new aspects and without the WG to say things.
-
I'll be pissed if Jazz Boner laughs.
-
If anyone introduced in the Fishman arc so long becomes nakama.
Be honest you guys, you know they all suck :(
-
@Sonic:

Well Jinbe has the biggest chance to join anyways so the chars that we just meet can be discarded
-
But I thought Jimbei had his own pirate clan, which is still active?
-
I didn't see a crew. Where is this crew people keep mentioning? I'm starting to think it was just him, fisher, and arlong.
Now he's all by his lonesome. Unless the remaining members of the sunny pirates are just a bunch of fodder….
-
Well, I don't think Jinbe will be the next SHs, since all the previous SHs, were introduced and recruited in the same arc (I think).
-
-Ace alive
-(serious) pairings of any kind. I like OP better without the pairing warsBoa Hancock or Perona joining the SH's!!!!
WB living thru this war
Luffy turning emo like Sasuke
I'm sure I could think of more…but I'm too tired...
-
Oda starting to kill more people off. Death is fine, but it Oda should only use it for those big significant moments.
