And Garp is a bit strange as well… All the time he could save Ace or do something... He hasn't reacted 2 times as the 2 fodder marines tried to cut Ace's head off. (one save by croc second by Luffy's haki)

he wanted a quick painless death for his son he didnt want him burned from the inside out by someone and i always thought that garp knew whitebeard would come and had intended to take a fall at some point or another… but watching someone die and not being able to help is when people feel... cant put it into words i would say raw?? because u feel like all your walls and barriers are crushed and everything that happens around u effects you oda captured this whole chapter so well it was chilling

Actually Oda didn't say no one would die in One Piece, in fact he said quite the opposite. He said "if" a death was called for to move the plot along, than a death will happen, if the plot can move forward without the person actually dieing, than he will probably have them live. Example Pell and Wyper living has no real consequences other than on the readers morale. Ace dieing actually has storyline consequences that eats at the very core of the protagonists journey itself. I just assumed it would be Whitebeard only because of all the foreshadowing to the 'era' ending, but the foreshadowing was for era of Roger dieing with the death of his son. Now it shall be passed to Luffy, Ace has said it so with his final breath!
You're right. With Ace, the son of the Pirate King, saying that he knows that Luffy can become the Pirate King because he is his brother and then dying in a way made Luffy the true heir of the Pirate King. And I think some people will realize that with Luffy being the son of Dragon and the brother of the late son of the late Pirate King, that he is the person with the greatest chance to become the next Pirate King.

The WB crew will disband after the death of their captain and second division commander. The individual captains and their crews will either join up with the other Yonkous (like Marco joining up with Shanks…he did invite him once after all) or will try to take WBs place and fail.
They will disappear for a while…and re-emerge when the time calls for it. Thats how i see it playing out. Right now, It'd be too dangerous for them to split up and form their own crews. All of them are wanted criminals, even more so after they participated in a WAR against the World government which is a serious crime.
Plus, everyone will fancy their chances against them..now that there is no risk of Whitebeard enacting retribution against them.umm he's logia and has been shown to be luffy's main rivel within the marines….. seriously like wtf manga have u been reading i mean its not gunna happen instantly but its called heavy forshadowing dip shit take highschool english..... and the akainu defeated by luffy??? yaaa ur not worth debating with

I gues I was late in hearing of the idea. totally hate it, praying it will not happen. The arc has been too long and epic just to end with his dying and then "rebirth" as a different person.

I'm unfathomably sad over this. I've had a silly fangirl crush on Ace for eight years and while I always hoped he'd come back into the story, I definitely never expected Oda to kill him off. I actually texted more money to the Red Cross this morning because I felt guilty for being so tattered over something as bourgeois as the death of a fictional character. I'm going to mope for days. Poor Ace.

As long as Joz is okay and recovers… Marco-Joz-Vista isn't exactly a bad team to have is it? Most people would think twice about attackin them even with them...and all the other commanders who've proven they're no pushovers.

No I know both, Smoker and Boa, are very skilled and Boa kave king haki…
But I highly doubt that Boa or Smoker are admiral level...
I'm not doubting that Smoker will it be one day... just not know, if Akainu is truly killed by someone like WB next chapter.
But I doubt Akainu will be killed here and now... Luffy has to face him in the future... Akainu is the most cruel bastard so far and being hyped big times.

Well I disagree that Akainu will fall now but if yes… I still can't see Smoker now as an admiral.
In the future of course but not for now... Or he will get a massive power-up or training like you said.
His fruit however really is a pro for it

As much as I love Ace, I would loose all faith in Oda if he somehow was brought back to life. This major twist in Luffy's life needed to happen. I expect there to be a major change in Luffy after this. (Hopefully that isn't him being a vegetable for who knows how long taking an eternity to snap him out of it).

Marco and Joz had their moments in the beggining and now Oda is just laughing in their faces.I mean..come on he gave them very cool DFs (joz's is not so cool but still) and now they look so pathetic.With his fruit Marco should have been able to defeat someone not to mention WB..I never thought I'd say this but I'm praying for BB to come and kick some admiral's ass..

thinking about making my own dragon discussion thread but im not sure if their is one lol ;).. but anyway i think because its been revealed in the manga that the gov's involved with the WG work in their own way seperate from the gov that they have they're own militarys / agenda's and i think dragon is currently at war with one of these gov. who likely has DF users in its army… side note anyone else think that most of the governments involved with the World Governtment are in the new world?? i mean it would only make sense lol

Late to the party. I guess I didn't care enough about Ace to cry this time, but I was moved and surprised/glad? that Oda finally decided to kill of an important character in the current timeline. I would've liked a complete flashback to Luffy and Ace's childhood that revealed Dadan as well, but Oda seems to have other plans. Wonder how Luffy will deal with this..
