I think someone should cosplay as Akainu with a dummy dressed as Ace attached to their wrist.
For some reason it amuses me to picture this.
I would hope he had a very fat friend dressed as "Gomu-Gomu no Fuusen" Luffy.

I feel sorry for Luffy. The amount of people that make fun of his "my brother is dead" face is horrible. To be honest, fictional character or no, it takes quite a mass of balls to make fun of someone who just lost the closest person to them and laugh about it.
On some degree, you gotta admit that's pretty f'ed up.

I know, i'm a little disturbed by that, but i suppose it's just their way of dealing with things. some people have trouble comprehending his pain, and thus escape with the "it's just a story excuse." But, it's ok, we are all understanding people, i'm sure.

Yeah, I notice this in RL too. Like when someone is crying everyone sort of snubs that person and calls them "emo" or what not. Then we turn around and wonder why we can't all get along.

Oh WOW!!!
I've just caught up to this chapter and when I read the end, I felt like a huge hole had just been punched through my chest, poor Luffy! I can't believe that Oda-sensei killed Ace! He was my favourite character :cwy: I've spent the whole of Impel Down believing that Whitebeard would die saving him in battle but wow, this was a huge shock!
I've been doing tones of reading on different opinions and even though I will be fine with whatever Oda chooses to do with the future story I am going to stay strong and believe in a possible miracle. I mean this has only just happened and even though Ace is dead right now, he may not be completely dead just yet, I mean once something dies, doesn't the body take some time to actually completely stop! A lot can happen in a few chapters!
I know that lots of people are sceptical of Oda pulling a revival trick or maybe they are just scared to admit that he might just do something like this after taking the entire fan community by shock but why did he make his famous statement on his character deaths in the first place! I don’t know, it’s such a tough call.
I mean this may be One Piece, and it may be Oda but the story is Shonen and Shonen alone fallows certain aspects, there HAS to be a reason for certain characters who MIGHT be able to do something to be in involved in the current events. Iva shows a great concern for Luffy, I mean whatever happens they will certainly take Ace’s body with them, maybe there will be a miracle and a unexpected met up in the future but whatever happens I completely trust that Oda-sensei will make the best choice. Maybe he wants us to believe that Ace won't come back by doing this and then completely shock us again with a revival, not a magical revival but something else, again who knows!
Also Whitebeard looks like he is one his last legs and would Oda-sensei really throw 2 major character deaths at us in such a short time when we’ve never had any before now?
I'm just super worried about Luffy right now, if someone looks and reacts like that after something so tragic happens in his life, will his Nakama even be able to help him out.
I don't know, please don't flame me, sorry for this being so long but I'm just so sad that this has happened and throwing out ideas that I've read around the place just make me feel a little bit better. I know that Ace probably won't come back to life but it brings that happy little glimmer of hope into this tragic ending.
Random question though, if Ace was as hugely popular as he was, does anyone know how the Japanese fans are reacting to this?

No Ace will stay dead.
Iva can't heal dead persons with burned internals… If yes he could heal anyone and wouldn't be afraid about Luffy's condition
And Marco can't revive people. If he could, he wouldn't be that shocked and could revive Thatch way back.
This isn't DragonBall. Ace is dead and he is better for the story now and the preogression of Luffy.
