@Double-Dudes:
I'd like it most if we'd get chapters dedicated to the SHs alone, as they'd work to put their pack back together. But being scattered around the Grand Line, I don't see how they'll be able to run into one another in any way other than following them vivrecards until they reach SA. Which could take a while, sure. But no more than a year, I'd assume.
That's what I have in mind though. If the calculation of Luffy's journey through the Grand Line is somewhat accurate, then it's been +4 month for him to reached Shabondy Archipelago. Not only the crews are been separated far enough from each other, some of the Straw Hat are outside the Grand Line (Nami is at Sky Island, perhaps she will take a route through High West to get to Shabondy ASAP), so it makes sense if they also took +4-5 month to get to Shabondy.
Add their own adventure with their adventure with Luffy together, it will total almost a year in One Piece. After all the crew member finally arrived to Shabondy, the rest of the month probably focusing on Luffy's healing or something and the crews are waiting for Luffy to wake up and continue their sailing.
Unless of course, Oda decides to use "one year later" and having all of the crew member already reunites with each other within that time skip.
I'm just curious, I know the statement is "Luffy's Last Adventure as a 17 year old", but does that mean we can't include the crew member time to get back and reunites with Luffy as well? Because if we do, it will makes more sense for the story development.
Having Luffy in coma (as suggested by most people) and using the time skip "one year later" to show him wakened up is somewhat poor writing IMO. Oda can always develop the other Straw Hat within the that time.
I don't have anything against the time skip anyway. I just hope there are something going on during that time skip. I want some development instead of "one year later" text box in the panel.
Kishi uses two and half year time skip in Naruto, but does the story and character progressed during that time? No. Naruto still need to train some more in Shippuden eventhough Kishi made it clear the time skip was made solely for Naruto training with Jiraiya.
edit
That of course, if this time skip were made after the crew got back together.
