B/c shonen manga makes a whole lot of sense. I'm all for acknowledging the flaws of the manga but your argument can be used against OP as well.
Not to this extreme

hey hey, i take offense to that. I like fairy tail and LOVE OP, I'd like to think I'm not as bad as that.
on topic: I loved this chapter and I can't wait for them to kick ass. maybe the fruit contains the person's soul, like how a new fruit can be produced is by using the soul of the dead person to manifest the new DF.

It is never "what" is done but "how" it is done. I think Lucci vs Luffy is the best example of "nakama power" in One Piece. Go back and look at the emotional impact of that scene, Usopp forgetting about his pride, considering that he left the crew and so forth, and screaming his lungs out to help Luffy while you can see how the latter gathers his last strength upon those words. What does Fairy Tail do?
Opponent: How can you have so much power?
Erza: You hurt too many people i care for, here is your reward!
and that´s that. Honestly, i don´t want this thread to turn into a Fairy Tail bashing thread, this discussion has nothing to do here.
How in the world did Fairy Tail invade this thread?
My point was less about Fairy tail and more about how there was a guy who thought that enemies haven't gotten more impressive and powerful after the grand line
This moment is what MADE Hody a villain, and one of the better villains compared to Nazi Caesar.
Agreed, in that respect it made him much better IMO, he didnt have some ridiculous thought out plan. He was like a real racist person in that theres no reason hes filled with hate, its just based on how he was raised as a product of his bad environment. That was different and what made him better than past tyrants in a similar postion
THis seems like the best place to put this, but I just ran into a guy with the an incredibly nonsensical opinion on One Piece on another forum
Seriously, the guy thinks the current opponents (and probably more directly the guys at marineford) didn't seem much stronger than east blue villains. It's actually hilarious considering how often it's been hammered out that the case is exactly the opposite. It's even more funny when you see the last part of the comment and realize Toriyama technically did follow the Freeza arc with a Red Ribbon Arc
This was written on animenews network by that Titan XL guy right? I swore i read this there, hes a known OP hater that ruins pretty much every thread or article that brings it up, and i would have written something in response but i dont have an account there. I think MasterKing JC set him straight though with his response.
I think Hordy was a better villain in the sense that the danger he presented due to Noah was real unlike shinokuni which was harmless. I enjoyed PH much more because despite CC being lackluster as a threat he was more interesting as a person. Hordy > villian, CC > character overall. PH also brought in better characters than FI and connected directly with the next arc and power level of characters also was much higher.

I'm afraid I don't get this at all.
If nothing had been done about Noah, it would have crashed into the island and killed pretty much everyone. Since it was stopped, it ended up not hurting anyone.
If nothing had been done to save people from Shinokuni, it would have killed nearly everyone on the island. Since they were able to be saved from it, it ended up not hurting anyone.
I don't see the difference?

Shinokuni's victims had to suffer being poisoned and trapped inside their own bodies? Dunno. Though Noah would've killed a lot more people…

Well yeah, I over generalized, but it doesn't change my point. I don't see how someone can call Shinokuni 'harmless' as compared to Noah, when they served pretty much identical functions in their arcs.

Yeah, true.

But Noah falling wasn't even caused by Hody. It was Decken. So I don't see how that makes Hody a better villain?

No, it was Hody's fault. He knew that if he stabbed Decken, the ship would fall back towards the island.
@Стрелок:
It's the same by me, I don't know the reason.
It happens to me since my registration. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I assume it makes a difference if you are quoted manually or through the "reply with quote" button, but that's just a wild guess.
Edit: Here is a thread dedicated to it (at least the last few pages)

! …And it seems I've missed another island in my New World compilation. Maybe I'll redo the whole pic to make things a bit clearer.
New World Island Collection
! *Updated again. I forgot the island where some of the kids were kidnapped, so I decided to redo the whole thing. Now it tells what chapters the pics were taken from.
The following places have been named:
Raftel
Wano
Punk Hazard
Dressrosa
Risky Red
Mistoria
Raijin
Green Bit
Foodvalten
Yukiryuu
Whole Cake
Elbaf (is it in New World?)
Zou
The island I've marked as "Mystoria island?" is the island where Kid was seen before the TS. It would make sense because Kid couldn't have gotten very far at that point, and the island looks kinda "mysterious".
We still havent seen a wind logia. Its an obvious choice like fire and ice which oda introduced very early in the manga. Clearly he's saving the ability for someone special.
And save the "oh logias arent as godly as they used to be since haki came into the picture". Please, Just because its physically possible to make contact with your opponent doesnt mean you stand a chance of touching them. Logias still present a real threat and the potential for immense power and destruction. That goes without saying.
So the wind wind fruit will go to?…...

If a wind fruit appears, it won't be a logia. Caesar already has that covered.
