Why wouldn't they fight??
remember when suigetsu confronted kisame? yeah
remember that fight? yeah…it didn't happen and that pissed me off. -
Has it been brought up yet that Troy Baker is playing Pain and Yamato, Travis Willingham is Zetsu, and Scott McNeil is Tobi?
-
who is who and a what now?
-
who is who and a what now?
Scott McNeil is a voice acting god.
You may know his as Ratrap, Dinobot, Waspinator and Silverbolt from Beast Wars.
He was also the original English voice for Piccollo in Dragonball Z, one of the voices for Wolverine, Duo Maxwell in Gundam Wing, Captain Harlock, and a whole mess of other things.
The other guys are insignificant.
-
The guy playing Roy Mustang and Ace is insignificant?
I just thought it was worth mentioning, since there are now three voice actors from FMA in Naruto.
-
@Super-Franky:
The guy playing Roy Mustang and Ace is insignificant?
Yes .
-
And there are like 38 actors from Dragonball in One Piece.
If Naruto was dubbed by FUNimation, this wouldn't any big deal. …But it's not.
Don't most FUNimation VA"s only do voice overs for them? (ex: as far as anime goes, Chris Sabat has never been in a dub that wasn't by FUNimation)
-

It a location thing. Funimation and the former ADV studios are in texas, Ocean group is in Canada. Other agencies are in New York or LA.
Its not that there isn't overlap, but mostly that studios tend to keep going to the same local pool and keep the talent in-town. (Which is why, say, Gundam, Zoids, Ranma, and Inu Yasha will have the same dozen names in the credits for all the duties and voices.). But sometimes travel or multi-studio or phone recordings will go through if voices are desired enough.
McNeil at least has been around and been to a bunch of places, but is mostly in the Canada group. His greatest role is of course…
Mr. Yoshi, the man afraid of chickens on Hamtaro.
But then, of course, the best character on Hamtaro itself was of course, the hamster Panda. He was awesome.

Whatever happened in that love triangle of Hamtaro, the french one and the old shovel guy?

Boss continued to swoon over Bijou throughout the series, while Bijou only had eyes for Hamtaro. Unfortunately, Hamtaro is a plucky kids show lead character, and was thus completely oblivious to her affections and just treated her like one of the guys.
Of course, the american airings never got to NINJA HAM…. which is a shame.
-
Aww I loved Boss in Hamtaro~ So grumpy! ^^ And I loved Panda toooo <33
-
I never watched Hamtaro. Mainly because I thought that there would be an episode where one of them would get sucked into a vacuum.

I always liked Hamtaro as a kid but now that I'm an adult, I don't know my feelings towards it. Robby, would you guide me on this issue by giving me a critique on the series on its strengths and weaknesses and whether all around it's good or bad?
-
remember when suigetsu confronted kisame? yeah
remember that fight? yeah…it didn't happen and that pissed me off. This was different. They just didn't want anyone interfering in Sasuke vs Itachi. This is Kisame vs Killerbee now. Plus the next chapter says they will fight.

hey juju, what do you think of the latest spoilers?
pretty epic amirite

If there is a hell, Hamtaro sings the theme music for the torturing.

The rarely heard second season theme, which was only on like… 2 episodes. Also catchy.

Its cute in that Pokemonish way, where you know its aimed towards five year olds, jokes repeat, nothing really happens and theres never really any danger or a bigger plot than the non-problem of the day, and its incredibly saccharine sweet in a Totoro sort of way, but its comforting to be around a bunch of goofy characters with likeable personalities that you come to know and remember.
It works when there were a hundred episodes on the air so it cycled for months and its just all these characters doing… stuff. I dunno if its any good at all with less than 20 or 30 eps tho.
(Also, it came on when I was really heavy into Berserk, and thus it was like, its calming exact polar opposite. Horrible bloody violence and human drama on one end, cute innocent nothing could ever go wrong hamsters on the other. Not the greatest of mixes, but... So I might have liked it more as the other extreme.)

No, you're thinking of the Hamster Dance. THAT is suffering. But totally different.

So Hamtaro is similar like Teletubbies that domiated TV couple years ago?
Seriosly when I saw Teletubbies in TV at first time I went at took some medicine because I thought I was seeing shit…
Speaking about Teletubbies I punish you for tormenting me with Hamtaro.
Brace yourself mentally.

-
i have a feeling i should be very glad that i can't see any of these videos right now
-
What did Teletubbies even teach kids? That their sun is a creepy laughing baby?
-
I am thankful Teletubbies wasn't aired in Greece or Cyprus. I barely could stand watching 10 seconds on yt. I mean wtf was that shit?! :/
-
@dirt:

No, but you should be glad you can't see THIS one. Its probably one of the most horrible evil thing to ever come from my mind.
This one is behind a tag because uhm… NSFW. And Berserk spoilers. And all around evil.

….What did I just watch? X_X
-
-
Puck would fit in with Hamtaro perfectly.
-
@robbybevard:
It's cute in that Pokemonish way.
Hmm? What's this?
-
….What did I just watch? X_X
Well, the opening was Whistle Stop to Monster Rancher 2 footage, for a logo thing. The rest… As I explained before, I was really into Berserk... and Hamtaro... at the same time, at least partially because they're polar opposites. One late, semi drunken night, that video was born.
If you've seen Berserk, there's extra horror. If you haven't seen Berserk, then that was a random montage of horrible horrible-ness.
Uhm, more Berserk spoilers.
! Some of the lyrics were just padded with footage to fill space with horrific violence, but a lot of them were specific.
! Cries of "Hamtaro" or "Little Hamsters Big Adventures" were inevitably Guts slaughtering.
when we work together its much better- Naked gay Griffith is just funny
_sunflower seeds=_behelts
If she heads for trouble, we won't let her!- Caska about to get raped
_Laura's gone to school-_Caska about to get raped again
_let's go to our Ham-Ham Clubhouse!-_Griffith about to get gay raped
_We can fix their troubles just be quiet as a mouse-_Assassin missions should be quiet
Watch out for those cats- Cats equal demons. This joke carried over through other videos.
But if we work together we can make their plans sink!- Pretty much the goofiest facial expression of Corkus on the computer available
! Tried to get the most absurd stupid looking images of any given character to
match them up to a different hamster, and it worked pretty well.
! _Snoozer-_Pippin "falling asleep"
Howdy- Howdy is annoying. Corkus is annoying.
_Penelope-_Caska, on account of being in love with Guts… and female.
Panda- Judeu was my favorite badass, Panda was my favorite badass. It was REALLY hard to find a goofy looking Judeu pic tho
! My best friends!- Horrible dying violence
! _Oxnard-_Oxnard loves sunflowers, Griffith loves Behelts. And he's Hamtaro/Gut's best friend. Puts a whole new spin on Oxnard tho, doesn't it?
Bijou- Princess is the default other girl in the series, with ribbons.
Cappy- Cappy was the youngest in Hamtaro, Rickerts was youngest
_Maxwell-_Maxwell had a big funky head. Gaston had a big funky head… in that shot.
! And by the next verse there were no more Hawks to use really, so it went to the god hand. "My Ham Hams" were of course, "breasts" in this case. No real meaning otherwise.
! Dexter, Boss, Pashmina, Jingle
! 'scuse me while I work out, gotta run on my wheel- Cutting off your own arm is exactly the same as regular running exercise, right? RIGHT?
! WHEEE!- That sound effect+that facial expression=classic.
! And then the end montage was just the most horrendous bloody, violent, naked, mind scarring visuals the series had to offer, combined with Guts chopping stuff up. (Including logs.)
! Yeah. Basically the most violent, rape filled horrible combination me and one of my friends could come up with at 3 am one night. It was a bad, bad thing.
…Okay, here's something a little less mentally scarring. The badass Berserk opening, by PENPALS.! pYLmMcKZZ_c
Hmm? What's this?
Did you post just to show off your new avatar, which is shooting my wolf Bobart? Neat!

Okay, over in the final fantasy XIII discussion, it came up that one of the end bosses was a tree. Which led to a discussion about how an ultimate villain could be a wicker basket. Which led to this, which needs to be in here. Apologies to those following both threads and thus seeing this twice.
I can see it now:
Tobi: You fools, believing I was Madara till the very end. I didn't even need to use my sharingan to pull off this illusion.
Kakashi: I knew it! REVEAL YOURSELF OBITO!!!
Tobi: wuhhh??? Who the fuck is he??? No, what you all failed to realise is that-
Narubo: But of course! Only one person could be as evil and twisted as you! REVEAL YOURSELF DANZO!
Tobi: wtf no! How can you all be so stupid? I even foreshadowed this as far back as Chapter 1… No there is only one person evil enough to be me... And that is...
Sakura: Kabutomaru?
Sasuke: Suigetsu?
Sai: The Jyubi?
Tobi: NO!!!! BOW BEFORE ME FOR YOU FACE THE MIGHTY WICKET BASKET AS FIRST SEEN IN PANEL 4 OF PAGE 39 OF CHAPTER 1 OF THIS ALMIGHTY MANGA!!!!!!!1111
*cue Kishimoto pleasuring himself while muttering "I've done it again"You know, the cast DID transform into logs awfully often early on…
@Thousand:
So…you think it'd be ok for an adult to watch it and enjoy it?O_O
If you enjoy a series, it really doesn't matter what genre it is, or what anyone else thinks, does it? Nodame Cantabile is a josei (totally intended for women) series, but that doesn't stop it from being awesome, and one of my favorites.
Hamtaro is not deep at all, so you're not going to get any drama out of it, and every episode is pretty much the same, but theres nothing wrong with 18 minutes of comfortable familiarity with amusing characters sometimes. Sometimes you need a little bit of random harmless cute to counterbalance the world. Like I said earlier, if you're okay with admitting to liking pokemon, or Inu Yasha after the first 30 episodes, this is in the same sort of area.
Its not in the same vein as saying "I still watch Sesame Street", which is entirely an educational for 5 year olds show and has a wholly different context to it.
Now, if you start buying artbooks and the dvds and plushies of it, that might be a bit much. But its all about what you enjoy. I'm 27 and talking about the series like an expert and have made a horrendously evil AMV to it, so take from that what you will.

Lion-chan, you don't need to quote entire posts, especially when they're lengthy like mine tend to be, and they come right before yours. You can probably trim that down a bit and still get the gist across, or even take out the quote entirely.
In other news…
ON PANEL 4 OF PAGE 39 OF CHAPTER 1 AND EVERYTHING!
It's even got just one black eye slit, just like Tobidara!
-
Foreshadowing at it's best?
-
Chekhov's gun, maybe?
-
That looks more like a pot, not a wicker basket. That would be awesome if that was actually Madara. And I missed Berserk's opening  . It is awesome though . I hope they make an OVA for Berserk just like they did with Hellsing.
