@KiShiDo:
Could someone tell me and Mihawk-fanboys which translation is correct.
The "to test how far I'm away from that man"
or that range thing
well i personally don't care, and assume it was him wanting to see how far strength wise he was from whitebeard, not just testing attack range. That just seems dumb.
But still not sure why everyone is clamoring over how this shuts down mihawk fanboys. Everyone should know whitebeard is the strongest. It said so in his intro box.
And to me it seems common sense that his attack would be stopped by a diamond guy. Since we have been watching a swordsman grow and learn moves from day 1, so far we know that to cut steel zoro has to use an attack for that. And also to hear the breath of the thing he wants to cut. Hell I would assume that if zoro is planning to cut something steel and someone quickly blocks it with a steel sword, he would not cut through the steel, cause he was only hearing the breath of the other steel he was planning on cutting.
so why would it be any different with mihawk. Clearly a ranged attack is weaker than a sword physically touching something. And he also was not expecting to have to cut to diamond.
Now can he cut diamond, who knows. I coudl care less. By showing this Oda could have been doing a few different things.
1. Showing that Mihawk can't cut diamond, thus giving Zoro something to accomplish that Mihawk never was able to. Though of course if this is true, then that means Mihawk must either 1. Loose to this guy, yet escape or 2. get bored and leave
2. Show us that Mihawk can indeed cut diamond and just another way of showing us how much further Zoro needs to go. In this senerio though it means that the diamond guy looses, but then he has to survive you would think or what way would Oda use for Zoro to cut diamond.
Which both ways it seems like we almost need Zoro to fight this diamond guy sometime, but just seems weird if whitebeard does indeed die. So whitebeard either wins this, or as been hinted by sengoku. Whitebeard wanted to make Ace Pirate King, and the other's may have also been under this impression and believing to. So then whitebeard dies, but Ace takes over as the new leader. And we still have our diamond guy for zoro to beat later.
But again curious on what Oda does with Mihawk, will he have him cut diamond or not. I kind of want him to and not want him too. Be nice to have Zoro accomplish something even greater than any before him, and diamond could be that. But also want Mihawk to, so then it shows us how much more Zoro needs to go. Plus then it won't make diamond seem like the plateau, but leave it open for zoro to possibly go even greater limits than just cutting diamond. Like how some have always said, elements, or logia or something.
