Thanks for the chapter…though I"m not in this section that much anymore, I am still a massive OP fan.
Dang this is just epic stuff going on...I'm still a bit worried at Oda's pace but it hasn't felt as bad as in Impel Down. But at least we finally know the full story on Ace and about Whitebeard's true plan to succeed his father...though Garp should have said something sooner. At the same time, Donflamingo and Moria were just sick this time.

Okay now i'm confused or rather surprised.Sengoku said that it was two years since Ace took his mum name wouldnt they have noticed Gol D Ace's name any sooner since he was a pirate captain especially with a grandfather as Garp.And wow Ace was offered a division leader of WB's pirates in less then 2 years.And damn those WB's allies looks so awesome. There was no grand entrance of WB smashing the gate but still it was nice.

Maybe Ace's name was Gol D. Ace and it's not Gold Ace like everyone would assume. The people still think Roger's name was Gold not Gol. D.

If it is Garp, why show him in a different set of clothes and why hide his face?

Quite some chapter this! To see the world top assembled. So many things revealed. Such a big buildup. We can expect a massive battle!
Garp really has a heart of gold. And was a rival to Gold Roger. He is even stronger than we've thought!
Still some things remain hidden from us. As to, as Blue-san has suggested in the Spoiler section, who opened the Gate of Justice, how and why? WB and the new world pirates did not have a reason for opening it as they come from the New World already.
One can enter to Marinefold through the Gates of Justice only if he is coming from Impel Down (The routes on the Currai Current in Chapter 549 suggest that it is one way only). So is someone mystically backing up Luffy or we can expect someone else?
Ah well. Let's trust in Oda to surprise us! -

I've already mentioned this in the Chapter Discussion thread, but Kuma was the only Shichibukai in Marineford who was not seen until after the gates opened. With his power, he could pull it off.

I actually agree. The pacing in this chapter was too high. Last chapter had an incredible amount of tension and Whitebeard's appearance happened to fast, so all that tension was for nothing. Hopefully, the next chapter will make up for all that.
This is honestly the first time since mid-Skypiea I can say I'm disappointed in a chapter. :(

Wow, this war just seems to be getting better and better - especially since there's no fighting going on yet. I don't want One Piece to turn into bleach, even if it's for a couple of chapters only.

So 1- who and 2- why ? Easier to answer 2 first, and deduct 1 from it…
If the doors were opened for Luffy, then it someone who knows he is coming. Then it could be one spy from Dragon, but I don't think Kuma could leave the front of the battle field as easily even with his power without being noticed. Then we have Garp, he knew that Sengoku was going to make the big reveal which would let everyone astounded and give him time to move. But why would Garp or Kuma, or even Dragon do that, they know that Luffy is just nothing compared to the forces already present.
Then the door may have open for someone else... who else is crazy/strong enough to be willing to enter MarineFord in such a moment ? Probably only BB. If so, then he must have left one of his men in MarineFord to do the job. -

how much of this war do you think we will be witness to? i personally think we will witness the war through the eyes of luffy. i'd say 85 percent of the war will be focused on luffy and what he is doing with the other focused on whitebeard and other guys. i don't think oda wants to make one piece into bleach and have a ton of battles going on and dedicating a chapter to each and making things way to long. next week we will probably witness whitebeard performing a huge attack and then things will shift into what luffy and his men are doing and it will stay focused on him.

Yeah i agree..no.Let Oda show all the 14 division captains one by one in 1-1 chapters, introduce the 4 mentioned captains one by one in 1-1 chapters, all the vice captains, commanders etc. Then hopefully 50 chapter trash talk will come like jajaja i'm so gonna kill you my power level is so high that even the 100k marines worth nothing…Who cares? Just fight. There are too many important characters involved in this. Theres no time to show each one's priceless face like : "!!!!" or "!!??" or "how can this be?" or "impossible!!". That's the Bleach's style. And this war has to be end sooner or later. Luffy has still a long way to go.
