So you win/inherit a large amout of money. (1million for arguments sake)
What would you spend it on, and how would you change your life as a result?

I'd save it, invest some of it, and spend the rest of my life living off of it. If handled smartly, I have no reason to ever actually work again. Meaning I can spend the rest of my life pursuing my hobbies. A bit of a boring answer really, as when I think about things I want that I can't afford, there's a very general list.
1. Get a sailing license
2. Buy a boat
3. Invite friends
4. Sail until money runs out
5. Back to normal life.
Buy a Mansion.
Chill out with David Bowie.
Mingle with the Honeys of the Showbiz industry.
Get a Butler. Found some companies.
Order strong materials and construct an impenetrable costume.
Fight Crime by night.
Rent a hooker for the rest of my life.
Edit: Obviously change when they start to get old too.

I'd do this. I don't care for work that I can't direct the creative flow of so being able to spend my days on nothing but what I want would be cool.

Br0s b4 H0ez.
If you kept a lot of the cash, I could have you and Gekko round for Caviar.
First I'd convert it to US dollars.
What?
^ That'd actually be pretty smart. 1 mil pounds is 1.5 mil dollars.
buy gold… lots of...
and then use it as per normal need
1. Convert it to US dollars.
2. Buy 2 houses, 1 for my parents and 1 for myself.
3. Buy furniture for the houses
4. Save the rest.
Pay any debts my family members have and share the rest between me and my siblings.
1. chill out
2. convert to €
3. party
4. Trip to Ireland with friends
5. nice car
6. Some money for family
7. buy ps3 & games
8. Buy every goddam manga volumes/anime DVDs i've read/watched online so far
9. Do something smart like saving or investing… dunno
Make sure I did not get it from Mafias or Yakuzas.

Better plan: I buy C cup breasts.
Working as a mangaka in Japan with that save.
I will be like…as lazy as Togashi ...not.
Put in my back account with my 39 million dollars.
Randomly die.
Become a ghost.
Haunt Whoopie Goldberg.
Convince her to empty my back account.
Force her to donate the amount to charity.
A few things I'd like
State of the art computer
Massive DVD & PS3 games collection
My face carved onto Mt.Rushmour
Porsche
Upgrade & decorate house
New TV (THINK BIG)
New clothes
400,000 goes into savings account.
pay Dads debts, donate Money to People I love (My Brother, Family Friends… well, that's all), pay my Mode-Design education that starts next year, go shopping, buy lots of stuff in IKEA for my flat, buy lots of CDs and Concert Tickets, don't go to work or just for fun, develop my Story and print it and well.. sale it if there are people who wants it... and just.. live the whole day like I want to. Oh and Travel.
EDIT: Make my driving license and buy an old Mercedes or an Audi 80/90 and color it black with pink skulls on it.
And go to cinema every week.
Pay all my parent's debts and my upcoming university + dorm fees.
Buy myself some brand-name clothes, a new car, a super-computer and whatever gadgets/toys I so desire.
Go on a vacation around the world next summer.
Invest the rest and continue working hard (hopefully)
1. Convert to USD.
2. Pay off debts.
3. Reserve 100k to play with (shopping, travel, ect).
4. Buy new house/car/furniture
5. Invest the rest.

I love it very good !
I'm such a boring person, I think I'd just put it into my savings account and continue living like nothing ever happened. I don't have any debts, there's nothing I would want to have atm that I just don't buy because I can't afford it. Sure, I'd buy some new clothes and stuff, but nothing really extravagant.
I certainly wouldn't stop working and/or studying.
Oh. Withdraw it all in $1 bills and bath in them. After waiting a long time for it all to come out.
Send mom dad on a world tour.
Invest the rest
Flee from Brazil. Then give some to my family and donate some to still have atleast 70% of it.
What to do with the rest? Now it's a big list and I'm tired to do it.
Convert to money I can actually use
Invest half in something
Spend rest on Skittles, hookers, and Mick Jagger
I'd probably share it among my family and some friends. Then invest my part in some properties, take 6 months off and travel all around the world. And continue life as normal as possible.
I don't really know what I would do, I just know It wouldn't end good for anyone.
I'll slap myself and wake up,because I know it never happens to me.

Atheists are buzz-kills.
I'd build a home recording studio and stock it with plenty of great instruments.
Donate 1/10th to Charity, as per a deal I made if I ever made that much.
Buy a new car that I constantly don't have to fix. Save enough to finish school, and enough for a good down payment on a house. I guess invest some too.
Oh, and every one of my friends gets to go out with me and get a nice hat of any style, because everyone deserves a nice hat.

this, completely. oh, and I'd go get a really nice and good hat too, cause they cost way too much nowadays. and give some to charity.
Start a mafia bossiness for more doe.
convert to useful money then burn it in front of homeless people
1. Convert to USD
2. Buy a PS3
3. Put the rest in a relatively risk free asset earning ~2-3%
4. Go on with the plans I already have for my life, maybe spending it when I wanted to buy a house.

Hehe I'm sorry. Because I'm a negative guy. If I have £1,000,000,perhaps I'd go around the world to make myself more optimistic and self-confident
1. Buy a house for my mom so she won't bug me.
2. Donate the rest to political campaigns or certain organizations.
The answer for this thread is: Give it to Sea.
End/
Pay off debts and fly to Jamaica.
No my bad, what am I thinking? I'd give it all to Sea. Everyone should do the same.
! So I can rob him and take the collective amount.
Best computer EVER
University fees
Nice car
Save+wait for when housing prices fall to buy myself a decent house (Not a mansion or whatever)
Tell Sea that I've deposited £1m in his account and that the bank must have made an error or whatever.

And Sea is stolen 99,99% by Atheist. I'd invite all of you to a big party and make you drunk
I'd invite all of you to a big party and make you drunk
Why would you want to make us all drunk?
Smells like a sinister ulterior motivation.
to steal all OUR money, obviously.
i predict that there will soon be a poll with 'give everything to Sea' as a poll option.
Pay off all debts me and my family have.
Then immediately afterwards reserve flight tickets to Japan for me and my four best friends.
Treat myself to some cool stuff.
Save the rest until next summer, without having to worry about paying the rent and all that. Also visit all my friends who live far away from me.
When summer 2011 comes around, go traveling again: Britain, USA, Hungary.
If there's anything left after all of this, save it.
Probably give away 90 percent of it to trusted charities.
Living a life of luxury sounds boring.
convert it to the cheapest currency and the lowest amount they use"1 something"
then get a pool and fill it with the money, and then I just jump in and I'll be
literally swimming in a pool of money!!
edit: spend it for the rest of my life.
I'd add it to the pile. Maybe roll it up and smoke it. It'll be enough to cover one weekend of shareholder expenses.
But in all seriousness, i'd buy a new car that's reliable (nothing fancy), start a good trust fund for my nephew… be cool and take trips to see my family around the country and get em all something nice. I'd buy a good house or condo and put the rest in savings and work my normal job strees free.
