Is there a chapter this upcoming week? Just wondering.
I can see the next chapter like this:
(After eating)
Luffy: I am going to rescue Ace.
Kama-People: Are you crazy? You cannot do anything against Magellan and Shiryu.
(Kama-People are blocking the exit to level 6)
Luffy: GO AWAY!!
All the Kama-People with the exception of Bentham and Ivankov faints.
That would be superetarded.
Is there a chapter this upcoming week? Just wondering.
i think golden week is at the end of the month so we should have 2 or 3 more weeks of one piece before the break unless oda decides to take a break before that.
Luffy needs to defeat either Shiryuu or Magellan
Now, it all come down whether Luffy will finish eating first or Magellan finish his business first
I believe Golden Week starts on April 29th and goes through the 5th(I got this from Wikipedia). If that's correct, we'll have like 3 more chapters(because I'm assuming there won't be one the week of the 29th).
Golden Week may be a week of celebration in Japan, but for us in America who are waiting for a new chapter, it's not as much fun. Sigh, but the manga-ka's are all doing a great job so they deserve a bit of a break.
The introduction of a new boss of this prison makes me wonder–what will the fights be like?
It's near established that Luffy has to beat one of these guys (I'm leaning toward Magellan). But what about Shiryuu? Who will fight him?
This feels like a normal Strawhat arc where enemies are being established, and normally I'd say Zoro would fight this guy...but he's not here. So who would fight him? I can't see any other use for this character but a fight.
A bit late, but this chapter was pretty good (read: awesome). Definitely looking forward to post treatment Luffy (pretty sure there's going to be some kind of design change, otherwise he would only have been in that room to make his screaming less intense to everyone else and keep his haki at bay(supposedly, because I highly doubt that those shrivelled up arms could have banged on that door in such a manner).
As for who will fight Shiryuu, maybe somehow Luffy convinces Iva to assist and he ends up fighting him while Luffy takes on Magellan again. I doubt Iva is there just for the sole purpose of healing Luffy and meeting Bon Kurei, he almost has to fight somebody (I don't count the guy who got turned into a woman). Also, I hope they have more than enough meat for Luffy to eat to get his strength back.
Now that the transport ship has arrived to take ace away
has anyone realised that even if luffy breaks ace out the numbers of enemies increased which sould include VAs if not an Admiral
and people still think Luffy could escape with ace
There's a slim chance he could, if there's enough prisoners trying to escape at one time they could just kind of mix in with them. That's assuming that Shiryuu, Magellan and maybe Domino and her Mino****s are taken care of.
Now that the transport ship has arrived to take ace away

i've been saying this for a while now. somebody very strong is going to come for ace because the world government wouldn't risk sending somebody weak to pick him up and then have one of whitebeards guy attack and ambush the boat and take ace away. i'm expecting an admiral or at least a few vice admirals including garp. imo luffy's final battle in impel down is gonna be with whoever is on that ship. i theorized that it could end up being garp and luffy will have to fight him to take ace away.
btw don't you guys think blackbeard is going to come out out of this battle a much stronger man? not just in strength but in man power. i wouldn't be surprised if some of the names you heard that are down in level 6 end up becoming part of blackbeards crew. maybe shiryuu will end up being blackbeards swordsman?
Probably be Akainu that will escort Ace if it's an Admiral. Or the some of the VA's that were a part of the Buster Call sans Momonga. Sending Garp would be stupid since he'll half-ass it like he did in W7 and would let Ace escape if someone tried to free him.
Oh thank God. This part of the arc is finally wrapping up. The war will probably begin after the Goldenweek break??? That'd be my bet. It'd be just like Oda to do that.
Awesome chapter. I love the countdown build-up to Ace's transport. Really emotional. And I'm glad it went so fast.
Can't wait for the next chapter!
The bit about the prisoners of level 6 is intriguing. I wonder if Oda will use them. I feel the battleship guy is some kind of giant fishman.
anybody want this gif for their sig or something?
Look at that lovely gif… Look at my empty sig... can I use it?

ha ones putting shit into his mouth while the other is pushing it out.
magdalen is like the opposite of Luffy. Luffy eats 15 meals a day and magdallen shits 15 times a day, lol.
Perhaps that Ivan will understand that luffys haki is so strong that it helped him to speed up the healing process. That would be a great introduction to a haki discussion…
Ivan: "What was that? I can't believe he healed ... that fast?"
luffy: "Food!! Please"
Okamas: "Straw-chaannnnn"
Ivan: "I've never seen someone like that... Unless straw-chan you have the king haki?"
blablabla haki details blablabla....
Or something like that so that Bon chan and ivan can talk about it.
I can't wait for infos about it so i'm using every situation to predict how details about it will be revealed :D
Seriously i can't imagine that they won't discuss the healing process... I mean ivan would want to understand what happened :)

yea i know, i so miss zoro when i read this chapter. He was on the cover and then we see some badass with no regard to prisoners who had a sword. he was just screaming for zoro to fight him.

while i wouldn't mind for blackbeard to get this new chick, shiryuu and what others mentioned become of his crew. since his crew is smaller than the strawhats right now. but not exactly sure how they would get invovled with blackbeard and join up. so don't see it happening. also blackbeards crew seems really strong for most of the strawhats to solo fight. so guessing if they end up fighting there will be some teamwork fights like you know when chopper and ussop fougth together. lately there has been a lot of teaming up fighting. imagine top three will slowly go back to solo fighting, but the rest seem like they are better in teams.
franky seems to be a great team fighter as with Usopp. Robin has always been a supporter. and i don't see too many more underestimating Nami. You know like how the cp9 chick didn't just soru over there and kill her instantly.
I wanted to say that yesterday already-From the last chapter expirience of Iva-san I thought-what an ugly and unfunny **********er.But now I fund him pretty nice. Not that I'm his fan,or he has a deep character-He is just very nice guy for me.Same first reaction thing I had when Moria's voice actor was shown in the end of episode.
It's near established that Luffy has to beat one of these guys (I'm leaning toward Magellan). But what about Shiryuu? Who will fight him?
You know Jinbei also wants to save Ace.
@Muscle:
You know Jinbei also wants to save Ace.
I keep forgeting that Jinbei is there…I can't wait to see his power.
Why do people think Luffy won't be able to beat Shiryuu? The main reason Luffy couldn't beat Magellan was because of the poison. Without that, I believe Luffy would have beaten Magellan. And since Shiryuu is as strong or stronger than Magellan but without the poison, I see Luffy beating him rather quickly.
Right, because we have seen that if you don't use poison you don't count as a good fighter in the One Piece world. :P
Ok, didn't read the whole thread so forgive CB if this was already stated!
Now, this chapter got me thinking about a few things:
1. Does anyone notice that the SH's never stay down for the time their meant to stay down, for ex. Moria and the shadow stealing stuff, Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji we're only down for a few hours, when in fact Moria stated that they we're suppose to be down for what 3 days, even when Robin got her shadow taken, she was down for what a few mintues until luffy called her and she got up!
Now, this chapter we see that Luffy was suppose to be healing for 2 plus days, and he was up in a few hours! Now, does this whole time thing apply to the SH's, I don't ever remember a time they stayed down for whatever time they we're suppose to be down!
2. I noticed that Iva said that the prisoners on Lvl 6 are on death row or there for life, so does this mean Impel Down actually let prisoners out after a certain amount of time????? If Luffy would have never poped up, could Buggy, Mr. 2, and Mr. 3 be let out sooner or later without Luffy's help?
(P.S. looks like if Robin would of went to Impel Down, she would be put on Lvl 6, since nobody could talk about the burning of Ohara)
Anyway, this was a great chapter, lots of info, and it acutally took me time to read unlike other mangas you can read in 30secs!

on this post, i will say that luffy might scare us.
seriously

actually people forget that luffy only has to get ace's cuffs off.
none of those guys are admiral level, ace is.

well if people complained about recent power up
i wonder what people would say if after this arc luffy could beat both of the top men in ID 1 after another or roughly at the same time
I can see Luffy getting a power up here.
He essentially just got pumped full of steroids.. and his body is breaking down / repairing itself at a massive rate which is how muscle is built.
I predict a battle btw Shyriu and Mallegan and Hannyball will take advantage of this… Luffy will create a Chaos that will make every warden battle each other.... maybe Ivan will sacrifice himself so Luffy could escape ID and go save Ace from his execution... His Final Miracle...
If Sengoku want to get rid of Garp, then he should send Garp to ID
If Garp fail, He can put all the blame on Garp due to family issue.
Look at that lovely gif… Look at my empty sig... can I use it?
yeah go ahead if you want.
Some ppl need to allow themselves to see more possibilities to this arc. Its possible Luffy doesn't necessarily beats or fights Magellan or Shiryuu but just happens to escape.
The last person Luffy beat was Moria and that was some time ago. Oda may just continue that. We've seen Luffy can still kinda go forward even after a loss.

I'm thinking that Oda-sensei might just not want Luffy to fight a major villian without his nakama. If you think about it, for every other great big fight out there, heck, even for the rest of the story in general, Luffy has not been in the story without his nakama since the beginning of One Piece. A major theme in this manga is 'nakama' and although Bon-chan is awesome, he's not an official member of the Strawhat pirates. Sensei is probably waiting until at least a few other members of the crew show up to have the grand battle.

This could be true but I do not think the SHs will show up at ID; I'd find that too convenient, cliche', and cheesy. At the most they show up at Ace's execution location. Although this Luffy only arc(since the separation really) is arguably not the best OP can offer I still like that Oda took this risk and I like what he's done in general. I mean this basically shows us how the manga would be if Luffy was just making temporary nakama arc after arc. Lets be honest this entire arc has a completely different feel from past arcs even with shounen-esque must's.
Besides this arc could still hold true to the nakama theme and we end this with Luffy having a new nakama (Bentham but there's still chance of someone else).
I can see Luffy getting a power up here.

i don't know if you know but the super soldier serum that created captain america was a hormone that was irradiated.
in fact most human performance enhancement research is going in the direction of hormones and retro-viruses.
luffy went through the vulcanization process, i don't care what anyone says.
he got a huge haki upgrade.
th hormone treatment in my eyes is a "captain america" nod.
luffy is gonna be a beast.
actually people forget that luffy only has to get ace's cuffs off.

i have a feeling luffy won't be able to take aces cuffs off until his battle is over. it would be to much of an advantage for luffy if ace was able to back him up.

While that definitely is possible I really don't see it happening (nor do I hope that it happens). That for the sole reason that with Kuma at Thriller Bark and with Borsalino & Co. at Sabaody the Strawhat's had enough of guys they can't surpass for know (as far as I'm concerned). I think that it should be time right now for Luffy to show that albeit all the recent defeats he can still emerge victorious against opponents who appear to be that superior.
However I'm quite curious how this entire Shiryuu thing is going to play out. I mean Impel Down is this gruesome place where you torture and kill people. And out of a sudden Shiryuu get's put into Level 6 because he killed prisoners? I mean from what we've seen so far ID's theme seems to fit Shiryuu much more then Magellan. So perhaps in the end when Luffy & Co. escaped the WG will say that it all happened because Shiryuu got imprisoned himself and that he is to be released again. Just thinking out loud.
Prisoners are tortured for punishment and are put down if the situation calls for it. Shiryuu went around killing prisoners to get off, that's kind of a different situation
I know what you're saying and in general I do get the difference (though I might not approve of it). However for a place like Impel Down I really don't see that much of a difference. At least not how it has been portrayed so far.
i think the whole level 5.5 new kama land can sorta be linked to how the prison system in real life is lol you guys know like how the hardest swolest dudes are always the ones who do the gayest things. anyone ever seen oz? but seriously though oda wrote the gaol fantastically what prison system dosnt have its trannies and homosexuals who still kick ass

Maybe Shiryuu's killing some of those prisoners the WG wants alive at the moment/or not; Ace etc.

Ok, that would make sense then.

I don't know what you all have with Garp !? And why some even want Luffy to beat Garp !?
Garp is one of the strongest men in OP, I'm sure he is way stonger than admirals, he must be on WB level.
I'm sure that even when Luffy will make it to PK, Garp will still be able to beat him with love fists and all.

why on earth do you think garp is on whitebeards level? no way is he stronger than the admirals either. his strength maybe close to an admirals but i doubt he is as strong. i want luffy to fight garp as that may be the last time luffy gets to fight him. don't know if garp will have much of a role in one piece after this whole war is over.
There's no way Luffy is going to be fighting Garp this arc. He's one of the survivors of the old times, along with Whitebeard, Rayleigh and SenGoku.
@Sven:

yeah but a whole new generation of pirates are emerging and will surpass those old fighters. whitebeard is likely to be replaced by blackbeard and rayleigh is gonna remain retired after this is over and sengoku will likely remain doing what he is doing now. after this war is over i see garp protecting the first half of the grandline from all the new pirates that are likely to emerge if whitebeard dies. garps role in the end will be to make coby into a great marine.
Probably be Akainu that will escort Ace if it's an Admiral. Or the some of the VA's that were a part of the Buster Call sans Momonga. Sending Garp would be stupid since he'll half-ass it like he did in W7 and would let Ace escape if someone tried to free him.
garp may of went easy on luffy but i don't think he would screw around with the transportation of ace since he knows so much is riding on this. he may sometimes be lazy but garp seems like the kinda guy that when given a serious order he follows it till the end. even if it means transporting his own grandson to his execution or killing luffy for getting in the way of ace's execution.
I somehow don't think Sengoku would let Garp go escort Ace… Garp is serious about his duties, yes, but completely unpredictable as well (and he does love his grandsons, even if in a weird way ^^")
Garp is the man who cornered GDR several times. When you realize that 20+ (23 ?) of the strongest marines ships were annihilated in one blink of an eye by WB, so fast that even the marine HQ have no idea of what happened, you can guess that Garp is top notch. Also, but that proves nothing, he is Ace and Luffy's grandpa, Dragon's father.
And whatever happens, he always ends laughing, it shows to me that nothing can make him worry because he is really confident in his own strength. Strong + experimented + knowledge (I'm sure he knows as much as Rayleigh), to me he may even be the strongest man in OP. You know, like in all those japanese kungfu movies, where in the end you realize that the little old man that was all the time sitting in the background of the bar is in fact the ultimate master…
And by the way, he is now training Coby who will probably become some day the chief admiral...
Probably, in next chapter we will see Ace's flashback or Mr 2's Flashback.
What makes you think that there's going to be a flashback :?
