Dofla you stinking son of a pig~!!Huh? ! ô_o
What's wrong with you?
Btw i've added a mediafire link to my post above.
Can someone edit the fisrt post please? -
You posted it first

Now we're near to luffys revelation. He should show his new powers. Oda has hinted it so much in the last chapters. It's time now. I can't wait for it anymore. The next chapters will show if this arc is really great or if it's a complete failure. IDs images are great. I love the guards there. They're really evil. It's also time for hancock to show her true power. Not this love shit.
-
Thx for the raw guys, what an epic chapter. The best thing is to see ID, there is so much brutality going on. I've said this in the spoiler thread, the next chapters will show us Odas dark side.
BTW the first on screen death in OP -

BTW the first on screen death in OP
Don't be ridiculous; the prisoners were just taken away to think about what they'd done and how much they really didn't need that part of their brain that was just scrambled.
Also: first on-screen death, eh? Perhaps you're forgetting about this. That ain't no cap gun. Or this. Chomp.
-
Huh? ! ô_o What's wrong with you?
You posted the raw like 15 seconds before I did. Once I realized that I struck out the text in my post and insulted you like a gentleman. In a friendly way of course =)
-
Admit it, brennen: you went to do your laundry again and you were beaten to posting the RAW.
On topic, though: I tried lightening the picture to see if I could discern the pattern on the back of Ace's shirt but I couldn't do it. It could be a Marine shirt but it might not be either. I can't really say either way. However, I was glad to see a picture of Whitebeard from a time where he was walking around freely instead of being confined to that chair of his (save for when he and Shanks had their little spat).

^^ Actually I had just come from upstairs this time, where my wife needed me to grab something from my sons bedroom. Dofla was just faster than me. In any case, I decided to do a quick clean of the LQ release. Tomorrow I will clean the HQ and join the spreads cleaner and repost, but for now:
Japanese RAW; LQ Basic Clean (3MB):
Sendspace || Megaupload || RapidshareEdit: If someone could please PM me a polite way to say I cleaned the chapter in Japanese, I would appreciate it. That way I don't have to post the cleaned RAW with English text on 2ch anymore. Hehe. I don't think they really care anyways (about the cleaned raw), but I figured I might as well toss it their way. Meh.
-
Now I know why those marine in Mariejoa can be so relaxed. Impel Down itself is full of monster. This ain't gonna be Enies Lobby 2 or anything.
-
Higher quality RAW from Brankie:
-
Ho crap! 32 MB! That must be exceptionally high quality!!!
-
Not really necessary for casual reading, but it'll be great for scanners.
-
Edit: Dammit! I'm always a few minutes behind! I WILL NEVER GO DOWN STAIRS AGAIN!!
Edit: Ugh; This one will be time consuming~!! I will finish cleaning it tomorrow. Sorry folks! -
You also said that when one tenryuubito shot a pirate?
no, i didn't say that. But now i think its clear to assume that, did you see that weapon and the pool of blood.
-
I noticed this after looking through chapter 516 on my PC. Thanks for the help though. By the way, I edited my previous post: http://www.apforums.net/showpost.php?p=1004801&postcount=7
But 516 HAS 19 pages, since the colour spread and double page count as two each. This chapter (at least the LQ version I have) has 17 pages including counting all the double page spreads as two. There are two pages missing no?
-
Sometimes it appears that oda just draws 17 pages instead of 19 I think..
In Thriller Bark there was another chapter like this and also 516 -
-
According to the map we have on page 4 they entered the whirlpool in between EL and ID; the Gates of Justice that they pass through is the entrance to ID.
According to the map, you practically can enter the currents only if you go through those gates. The arrows practically show that there's no way in.
Otherwise if you could enter the current from everywhere those three gates would be obsolete.

516 got 19 pages: pages 1-2 - colorspread, pages 12-13 - double page = 17 files. This time we have 3 double pages and 17 files too.

The thing here is though, that the spreads are seperated, meaning each part of the spread counts as one page. So yeah, it's still 17 pages, spreads or not.

no, i didn't say that. But now i think its clear to assume that, did you see that weapon and the pool of blood.
We don't know if the prisoner is heavily wounded at the brink of death or even dead. If you have said "i assume that he is dead" in your first post about this subject it would have been fine to me.

Someone brought that up to me a while back. Here is a map for reference. It's true that the currents push away from the whirlpool, but I don't think that means you cannot enter the whirlpool. The danger of the whirlpool lies in getting out more than getting in. I could be wrong, as I have not checked into the particular chapter it was discussed, but I believe it was said that if you get inside the whirlpool there is no way out except through the Gates of Justice. So if you are a pirate and get stuck in there, you will just keep going in circles or something until you crash or sink. Errm, I don't quite recall though. Tomorrow I will look into it. I shouldn't even be awake right now!
-
Thanks for the huge raw! That's a whole lot easier to read!
Ace saying that his only father was Shirohige was pretty cool. The scene before it with Shirohige asking him to become one of his sons was also neat. I was completely surprised by Alvida showing up. And I was thoroughly impressed with all the character designs. Oda gets better and better as time goes on.
Impel Down reminds me of Berserk. It's a whole lot darker than any of the stuff Oda has done so far, and I like it.
Thanks again for the raws everyone!
-
Wow, Impel Down is full of Nazis.
-

Pages merged in raw, so they counts like 2 pages - 1 image. More like 17 images, spreads or not, but 19-20 pages. :) Ahh never mind. No big deal…
-
Nice chapter, I like how Ace is thinking. He'll prolly be pissed at the fact that Luffy is trying to save him. The top eh?
-
I'm sure there's only 17 pages…
I was also astonished when I got WSJ.By the way, there's really no OP's Ad this time.
So, no chapter next week is confirmed. -
Well they have to kill some pirates there, with all the pirates going through the Gates of Justice they have to hold up some free capacity. Doesn't surprise me that the pirates all around the globe fear Impel Down. Even Firefist Ace was tortured there… and he is a very important prisoner, because of his role in putting an end to the Pirate Age.
A pirates life ends when he enters the Gates of Justice, pretty dark how Oda helps us to get an idea what awaits the pirates in there.

what do you mean is confirmed? source?

Or they can send them to the huge bridge after having weaken them.
Thanks to cnet128 at mangahelpers for the english translation of chapter 525 here

^
thanks magnetic,,,I can't wait scanlation…so just looking the raw and read the trans. -
Hey, makerror. Where did you get that sig from?
-
Isn't there normally some little text stating that there will be no One Piece next week?
There's always some type of advertisement for One Piece among the other top tier Jump series in the preview section.
If its not featured, then its not in next week's issue.
-
@ Battle Franky: so this means? It was not featured?
-
Going on what fgcsk said, I'd assume not.
-
Hooray for seeing the Buggy Pirates again!
Y'know, I've been thinking; this is the second rescue arc that we've seen in One Piece. That's not necesarilly a bad thing, though. I enjoyed Enies Lobby, mostly because I felt it was different from most shonen mangas that use the same cliche. And I've got a feeling that the Impel Down arc will be just as unique for a shonen staple.
-
Hey, makerror. Where did you get that sig from?
I found it at danbooru donmai sites. just type one piece at searchbox, u could find many good onepiece fanart there.
-
I needs a translation, but yeah if I wasn't for the water mark I would really enjoy the chapter more than I already am.
-
Look at all them merry Gestapo lined up like that. And seeing that Gestapo chick at the end ushering Hancock inside seems to confirm that Oda is bent on wringing every last drop of fanservice he can from her. This comic has been rather kinky as of late…
Anyway, Impel Down. Not a pleasant place, with minotaurs, lions, spikes, etc. That unfortunate guy's head wound was actually kind of nasty. Man, Luffy really has no idea what he's getting himself into, does he?
Nice to see that Buggy has relevance again. It's great to see all those losers again after all this time. Kind of wonder how he got captured in the first place, but at least he got out. That's quite an impressive feat, regardless of circumstance. Funnt how Alvida just convinced everyone to abandon him. Heh heh. She and Hancock have to meet at least once. Both of them are so massively stuck up.

Well i hope that he does. But the chances are getting smaller that he indeed was a fool… And if he still doesn't use any haki attack in the upcoming war then that would be imo odas failure... I just hoped that luffy had a plan when he talked with nyon about his brother.

Now I see why ace was so bady beaten up and wounded. ID is a freakin' torture chamber. Just shows how evil the WG really is, not content with merely suppressing the prisoners but wanting to inflict as much pain and suffering as possible. As Jacko suggested, I think we're gonna see more of Oda's dark side from here on. I bet the new age is going to take on a more serious tone. As many have suggested, I'm damn sure that there's gonna be a MASSIVE turning point at the end of this war (a huge betrayal, death(?) or stuff like that). Who knows? Perhaps the WG will be almost completely shattered. The last few members of the marines (smoker, tashigi, coby and the like) will strive to bring the navy back to it's former glory. Or Dragon could enter and annihilate the WG. I don't see what that will result in as his motives haven't been made clear yet. Or the new age could be devoted to a power struggle among the pirates in a race to reach OP. Whatever happens, let's remember - In Oda we Trust
