My God.
I'm not asking for spoilers,i just want to know if we are going to have this week,an early release like the last one,or are things turned to it's normal order. -
Anything new about spoilers,or it releases?!!
Battle Franky or someone else quicker will put it up when it comes up. Himajin tends to post no later than 2 AM PST and often earlier. And sometimes we get spoilers before that from other sources like Brankie. If for some reason there is no One Piece/shonen jump this week (which I doubt by the way) than Battle Franky or someone else will confirm it before the end of the night. So I say be patient :P we have been spoiled the last couple of weeks for One Piece. Enjoy it while you can too, because next month we are going to have a 2 week break for sure.
Also last week was a saturday release. Expect it to go back to the same order unless specified… and yeah don't post anything that could be spoilers if you got them. BF will get to them if they are legitimate.
-
@Battle:
Well, I'll take this opportunity to say, if anyone even leaks one line of a spoiler be it legitimate or not into this thread. It'll be a straight up one month ban from the forum.
^^ @lightcrowler. Best to just wait until a thread comes out. We should have a chapter though, yes.

Can a fish drown in water?
Completely irrelevant to the arguement at hand.
–-------------------------------
Judging from the text in the chapter when it said "backtrack" or whatever, The other SH's have already landed in their destined location so I think Oda was just giving us a look into where they are at. I don't think he's going to actually show us their complete story like he did for Luffy. -

Pretty much all i wanted to know was written here.
Thx dude.

I don't think he's going to actually show us their complete story like he did for Luffy.Yeah I don't think so either. In fact I predicted he would do something like this a while back. If you can, its best to not dwell on the stories of the other strawhats especially if its a mission to learn new tricks. Better to just wait till they show up again and than they get to show off the fruits of their labor AND you it doesn't take up a ton of plot development time and adds needed tension and joy for when they finally show it off. Win, win for him no matter what. Makes each coming chapter that much more epic and to dwell on those events in long chapters would just slow the pace down, no matter how nice it is to see the events.
I expect we might get info on almost all the other strawhats this next chapter… some more setup material (Maybe info on what shanks is up to) and than the final half of the chapter dedicated once again to Luffy and Hancock as they approach Enies Lobby. Probably also have something mysterious (like a person in the shadows) just as they are entering the place to add a cliff hanger tension to it too.
-
If it isn't stated, and the WG isn't shown to be suspicious, then I will be disappointed.
Agreed.
I would suggest perhaps you wait a few chapters for things to shape up a bit before you pass judgement like that.
…? So I can't say if I think it's a bad idea IF he doesn't address it?
They should be suspicious as f*ck, but as you can see, Sengoku's eyes are rivetted on Whitebeard!
Okay. I guess this means it's time for me to bail as we've found ourselves in the below vicious circle that is inevitable in multiple-page threads.
Greg: I don't like this idea and won't orally satisfy Oda this week because X. That is, if he doesn't address X.
Poster A: Well what about Y?
Greg: Yes, that would be assuming he addresses it.
Poster B: Well this character has Z motivation so it makes sense.
Greg: But having Z motivation makes the move even more absurd because of X's existence.
Poster C: Well maybe Oda wants to do W.
Greg: Yes, that would be considered addressing X.
Poster D: Well what about Y?
and so on
-
…? So I can't say if I think it's a bad idea IF he doesn't address it?
Who said that? I only said that perhaps you should wait to see if it's actually addressed later on since there was so much information packed into this one chapter that maybe the particular details of things would be expanded upon later (such as what Hancock's reason for visiting Impel Down was, what Ace and Garp talk about, etc.). I don't think it's unreasonable to think that smaller details like that would be saved for later chapters just so Oda could get the ball rolling a little faster.
For the record, though, I would also be disappointed if her reasoning to the WG was never told to us, but I do expect it to be revealed a little later (if not in 524 then sometime within the next 4 or 5 chapters).
-
Who said that?
You're absolutely right. I apologize, I'm touchy for being battered by similar points but it's no excuse for me to be a little bitch.

Hold up. You quoted multiple people but didn't specify who it was you quoted or who you are referring to in your closing statements. Do I fall under this category you speak of? I thought I brought matters up in a fair manner without showing any form of groveling for Oda.

No offense but that would be one boring chapter.
Everyone is ready for this war to set off!
We are all Braced for the main event
Were impatiently waitin
It's like an AIDS test, what's the results?
Who's the best? Whitebeard, Mihawk or Blackbeard?I rather we just get more setup chapters towards the big event.

+1 for the Ether reference.

I too think Oda will touch on the rest of the Straw Hats for at least this chapter, and maybe more. The war is coming up a LOT faster than I once thought it would and it's definitely going to be one huge slug out between the most powerful people that the One Piece world has to offer. Something like that will be worth the build up. Right now we are on the tip of that, so going on the last chapter we will probably see more of the crew, and when that's over we'll go back to Impel Down, and how things will spill out from there into the war is still up in the air since there are many things that can happen.

I already said there would be more setup chapters towards the "big event" both after the strawhats stuff and at the end with the cliffhanger. The reason everyone loves this chapter is it paces all the details out without being too heavy handed on one subject. I never said I would predict what was in the chapter rather how the chapter would play out :P thats where all the unpredictable stuff comes in. Oda is actually fairly predictable from a story plotting perspective, its just you can't tell what he is going to do with the more juicier details in the transition.

@Shaman:
im sorry things like this bothers the shit out of but since when did he ever talk about the strength of the crew members from top to bottom except for certain individuals.i believe he never created or talked about a tier or whatever you call it for the crew and in my opinion i dont think he cares who he makes stronger and again for certain individuals.
if you have cant post a link cause i really dont remember.wait since when was this stated in thriller bark
I can't say when it might have been posted in Thriller Bark, and for the info I'm providing, at least Brooke is excluded (possibly Franky too). I don't have time to go looking for links (someone with more time might do that for you), but if you look the the Red, Blue, and Yellow Books somewhere here on the AP Forums, there is a diagram used to show the strengths and weaknesses of each crew member.
This illustration in itself caused many an argument, since the scale has a max value for each attribute, and several characters might max the same value, and people therefore assumed that if they maxed out the value, they are all equal. Make your own decisions regarding the info in the books….

?
I wasn't quoting, I just conjured up statements similar to what was being brought up time and again. It's like:
X: "Whitebeard would want Boa there."
Greg: "Well maybe if Oda explains it thoroughly but he didn't and it doesn't seem to be a strategic advantage."
two pages later out of the blue in a response to my post
Y: "Whitebeard would want Boa there."
It's literally getting repetative and that's only because posters are coming into the thread mid-conversation so it can't be helped. You brought up new points so it doesn't have anything to do with you.
And if you thought this:
http://apforums.net/showpost.php?p=997727&postcount=1087
was sarcasm I assure you it wasn't. Denim was absolutely right. I was really touchy. -

Yo Greg, mind explaining again what exactly seems to be the thing that bothers you? I've been away for the weekend so I missed it and this thread is one of the hugest talkback thread's I've ever seen so I really wouldn't like to read through everything.
Just curious what point you adress.^^
-
Sorry guyz but I have question about Luffy and Boa!
I'm really not sure but I think Boa is not in love with Luffy!
I think is just controlling Boas feelings with his Haki
Well I am confused! Is that what really happens or it's a silly thought of mine? -
I wish she would suffer to his Ambition because then the "my heart hurts am I going to die" thing wouldn't be half as retarded as it is with this Hollywood path it's taken down. But we're talking about Luffy here you a) doesn't know to use Ambition yet, b) has not even the slightest understanding of a romatic relationship between man and woman and c) even if he would such an approach would never be his style of doing things.

No point. That was a dumb post on my behalf. I'm leaving it there as a testament to ignorance. But how it started was many pages back I mentioned that I didn't like the half-assed way Oda dealt with Boa getting to go to ID which for all intensive purposes from all sides is a HORRIFICICALLY HORRIBLE AND BAD IDEA unless you're Luffy.
A few people suggested some reasons which I agreed with but clarified it wasn't that reasons couldn't be believable, simply that they hadn't been brought up.
And it went on like this with reasons being presented, me agreeing, but continuing to point out, they hadn't been addressed and if they remain as such, it's a weak story point that I'm unhappy with.
Every time I don't lick the salt from Oda's balls there seems to be a massive movement to get me to shove them down my throat. And that got to me which resulted in my childish bitch-post above.
And they all lived happily ever after.
-
I see. Thanks for the explenation.^^
-
And that got to me which resulted in my childish bitch-post above.
This is what I was referring to. Was I really part of the group that was "forcing Oda's balls down your throat"? I mean, I am all for criticizing someones work – in this case Oda's -- when there is warrant for it, but I simply saw a few reasons that made the situation and conditions a little more understandable. Ultimately we agreed to the heart of the issue though. I guess I just feel that while there is nothing wrong with challenging issues in a chapter, there should be nothing wrong with challenging a challenge of issues in a chapter.
-
Greg is a little cry baby.

If it makes you feel better the name brennen didn't enter my mind at any time when I posted.

sobs heavily

Like I said in my edit comment for that post, it wasn't really a big deal. I was just shocked at first because I thought you were referring to me.
I was like: :shocked::cwy::sad::unsure::wassat::ermm::silly:

Everyone's looking at this the wrong way, honestly.
Basically, Teach showed up at the WG doorstep with Ace in tow. Sengoku probably flipped out, because:
A. Teach walloped a Logia user AND a member of Shirohige's crew
B. He knew Shirohige was gonna shit a whale-sized brick.
At this point, the execution of Ace is pointless. If Whitebeard's running around sinking ships left and right, you know he's pissed; the whole announcement of Ace's execution was simply bait; even if they go through with it, there'd be no point, because they'd still accomplish their goal: getting Shirohige, Joz, and Marco to a specific location, so that they can fight him on their terms. The problem is, Sengoku didn't expect Shirohige to be as strong as he is, nor did he expect Jinbei to throw a temper-tantrum. So, at the moment, he's pretty much low on actual options. The five Shichibukai that are there already (Doflamingo, Teach, Kuma, Moria, Mihawk) and the Three Admirals (Aokiji, Kizaru, and Akainu) sound like more than enough, but assuming that the Red-Haired Pirates joined up with the Shirohige Pirates, You can tell there's some serious shit about to go down.
So, Sengoku acting as crazed as he is, to me, is not suspicious in the least.
-

Well that's just stupid. If the simple ass use Ace as bait plan was all he had in mind to take down WG by luring him and his crew some place they might as well have just went out and attacked him anyway. I don't think it's so much as they want WG to be in a certain place but now they have something on their side that can assure they win the war as long as they have all of the other fire powered they'd assume they had.
Plus since there's no going back now they can tend to be scared shitless since you can't hit the redo button on this one.

Psh? Are you kidding me? Not even all the Shickibukai will be able to even lick Whitebeard's boots let alone just 5 of them beating him.

Ok, Rayleigh is Jinbei !
And Kuma was indeed a bad boy before becoming Shichi, he only changed after he discovered he suffered some lethal disease; and that's when he was about to die that he accepted to be "healed" by Vegapunk…
-
I really don't see the Shanks getting involved in this. That would seem like something way too upsetting for two Yonkou to work together on this matter. Besides, even though the Shichibukai are all strong and so are the Admirals, we have yet to see who else is on Whitebeard's crew. I mean, him by himself will need a lot of super powerful people to hold him off, but his other top crewmen aren't chump change either and are likely to be matches for the Shichibukai as well. They are going to need to go about this carefully if they're going to bring down Whitebeard, but things are already going awry…

First off, "The Shanks."
Seriously though, I can easily see Shanks getting involved. He presumably knows about Ace being Luffy's brother and he already expressed some sort of concern for Ace's safety when he risked Whitebeard's wrath by asking him to recall Ace (although this could have been entirely a political move, but I don't think so).
It was also stated that other pirates in the new World are on the move. What do you want to bet his ship was one of them?
-
Oh, wow. I just realized that. I was going to put the Red Haired Pirates but decided to put Shanks instead. Didn't erase the. XD
Anyway, although Shanks was obviously worried that Whitebeard didn't fully understand the threat that was Blackbeard and knew something like this was going to happen I don't think he'll show up here. Sure, it's possible, but with all of the things going on I don't know if it would be exactly wise for him and his men to get mixed up in Whitebeard's affair. He may very well get angrier at Shanks for showing up and meddling once again.
As for the other pirates, I was thinking more of the other Yonkou and such trying to position themselves to claim some of Whitebeard's territory since he(and likely his most powerful crew members) isn't there to protect it. Really, it's a prime time because the other Yonkou have a great opportunity here. If Whitebeard is taken down then they have all of that territory to get without too much problems. If Whitebeard wins and gets Ace back he would have just come from an enormous battle with the World Government and may be easy pickings for the other two Yonkou to knock him off. That's what I was thinking anyway.
-
do the yonkous really want power or territory.i know this is a bad example but shanks doesnt look like he want territory also those pirates that are coming are probablly allies of white beard who are actually coming to help.if you think about this also gives pirates the perfect chance to fight and get rid of the world government or make a big blow on them.also if shanks isn't going for white beard he certainy will go for ace
-
The Yonkou rule the New World like Emperors, correct? And Shanks, I think, is a special case. I don't think the other Yonkou would stay at a small town and never harm a soul. Whatever their goals are, it would behoove them to take territory from a rival and get them out of the picture, and the only allies of Whitebeard would in fact be Whitebeard. I don't see the other Yonkou coming in to topple the World Gov. I think that is more of Dragon's responsibility(he is the most wanted man in the world and a revolutionary with this specific goal). Besides, Shanks has his own worries because he's a Yonkou too. I suppose he could show up to save Ace, but I don't know if that would be a smart move, or what his largest incentive for it would be. Get Ace before Whitebeard does or while he's busy fighting? Ehh…...
-
i mean you can't really bring up "he's a special case" card because like luffy and shanks there has been proof that there are a number of good pirates and one of the other yonkous could easily be just as nice.for shanks to save ace is simple as apple pie the only reasons he needs is that he wants ace and that's it like luffy i don't think he's looking at the big picture he's only looking at that single target that he wants to hit.
also it's not so farfetched to think white beard to have allies.i mean if you been out in the seas for that long you must have made some allies.anti social or not if you have alot of power that will attract some people to your side out of respect or fear.
-
I know that saying he's a special case may be a bit of flimsy evidence in the court of law, but although there are some nice pirates most of them aren't. Also, I don't think it would be as easy as pie because there are some other factors that would go into it than him just waltzing up and getting Ace out of jail. Shanks is certainly a thinking man and doesn't run on impulses to do what he wants like Luffy. He most certainly looks at the big picture or else he wouldn't have tried to warn Whitebeard to begin with.
And I'm not saying that it's a far thrown stone in the pond for Whitebeard to have allies, but that if they were his allies in the New World that would go so far as to leave their positions and try to help the strongest man in the world with his crew(however many he brought) fight off the Shichibukai, Admirals and marines then I'd think that they would be pirates under his flag. I don't see much of the other Yonkou members helping out or just pirates that are in search of One Piece under their own flags going to help Whitebeard.
