Chapter 523 "Hell" Discussion

Nice chapter…
First of all... the way oda fast forward the other stories is a nice touch. Can you imagine reading 10 chapter each for every crew...that's almost 2 years man!!!
Guess nami and franky is gonna get an upgrade in their exile. One thing in my mind... If nami were to escape from the sky island, it will be very cool if she uses flying device like a glider...Avatar like...
Has anybody posted that hancock may join strawhats? Even though it's very unlikely.
-
I like the glider idea! Maybe that could be Dock 4, a type of short range flying machine.
-
Has anybody posted that hancock may join strawhats? Even though it's very unlikely.
Oh, no one has. Nice idea.
-

Nope. Pretty sure you're the first.
-
anyone else find it interesting that nami, sanji and franky's trips seem to have taken four days rather than the three of luffy's.

"A short while earlier!"

Pardon me… where did it says 4 days? It says "turning a clock back a bit" just like zoro vs ryuuma fights.
And also... Give it up with the three days already. It's ONLY 1 day. Check previous chapter will ya

Where do you get four days from? It seems to me that who Oda said "turn back the clock" he meant that he was going back one or two days (depending on how long Luffy was on Amazon Lily), showing us when they first arrived on the Islands.

how did you come to this?
-
I was just reading "Hell", Franky's on a winter island but didn't the little dude say he was at the birthplace of the genius. Since Vegapunk is considered the wrolds smartest scientist, doesn't that pretty much mean Franky is on his home island.
Nami gets an upgraded climatact from the sky island of Weatheria, and Sanji finally learns to control his lust on the transvestite island kingdom. -
there could be more than one genius.

Still havent seen it mentioned any guesses on who managed to get Jimbei to ID

maybe sengoku? sengoku is probably the strongest fighter in the marines.
-
Jimbei chose it.

I think he went there and decide to wreak havok or he was already there kinda like how kuma was at marine HQ already.

my bad, missed the box that said "a short while earlier"

Akainu did. Jinbei's innate attribute is blue and Akainu's is red. It's the most logical choice, really.

This post is deleted!

There is a good question to be held for this Fishman… If he would think well of Luffy because of what he did to the nobles, wouldn't Arlong pretty much be the same? I'm guessing that's why he hates Humans.
That is if Arlong is still alive xD -
So is Jinbei being held at ID or just there coz he wants to be?
-
Jinbei's a yonkou.
(Hopefully) YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST! >:3
Right picture, Garp's explanation on the Yonkou.
Left picture, Jinbei's silhouette.
-
They might be brother and sister.
-
I'm still going for the Yonkou.

http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n214/Williampetty/JinbeiisYonkou.jpgThe Silhouette of the Shichibukai in the East Blue Saga was all kinds of inaccurate. Also, by the same logic, there's a chance that the silhouette of the Yonkou, save for Shanks and Whitebeard, are also inaccurate.
That being said (and probably denounced later), There is no way WG would hire a Yonkou. Also, if Jimbei was a Yonkou, there is no way he would join the Shichibukai.

I always figured that to be Lola's mom, while the guy with the mustache at the bottom was Kaidou. But since Kai can mean large (Side note, what Kanji are used to make up Kaidou's name?), that could very well be Kaidou himself.
But as for that being Jimbei, I doubt it. I think they'd notice if one of the Shichibukai was a Yonkou.
And as for how he got to ID, My guess is that Doflamingo used his puppetry ability to walk him straight into there. We don't know the range on Doflamingo's power, but I'm guessing it was either him of Akainu. Unless, of course, Kurohige put him in there.

You know, if Lola's mother is a Yonkou, that would be so amazing.
Also, as far as I can tell, Doflamingo's puppetry is only to the extent of controlling bodies, not minds. But I could easily be wrong.

We'll see because if he is, everyone will be like "OMG ODA'S DA GENIUS!"
Also, i'm going to throw in they might be relative's which does mean my guess is CLOSE. <__<
And, you have no proof at all these two pictures are "inaccurate." -

Not at all really, making Jinbei a shichibukai and yonkou doesn't make much sense.
I'm not gonna even consider a yonkou being caught that easily, let alone him being ordered to fight another yonkou and his crew is no where in sight.
If you guys aren't trying to make Jinbei Fisher Tiger or Kuma he's a yonkou, shichi, a gorusei, Akainu, Franky's father, Gold Roger's son, and on and on and on…........

Um… he IS a shichi? Like for certain, right?
"Now we have six of the Shichibukai. One more left... the one we sent to prison. Has he cooled his head yet?"
"Ah, no... at the moment he seems firm in his decision to fight us...!!
He's even prepared to lose his Shichibukai status…"Jinbei is definitely a Shichibukai. Now, whether he's GOING to be in a few chapters is debatable... How mucha wanna bet he escapes with Ace? ...Not together, of course, but during the same time. He'd be a great guide to Fishman Island.
-
I must say I'm alot less annoyed about the "love sickness" element since it turned out to not be a real illness.
Also, Hancock kicking a puppy and a baby seal at the same time was pretty god damn funny.

No one said he wasn't. Zik was just listing all the titles people are sticking on Jinbei. All of which are retarded. Save for Shichi.

-
@robbybevard:
Now, with THAT out of the way…. Really, we know NOTHING about Jimbei yet except that Arlong used to work under him.
Jimbei and Arlong used to work under Tiger Fish.(well that's what i think since Hancock told that after TF freed the slaves,TF made a pirate crew.

It's Fisher Tiger, not Tiger Fish! And I think Arlong served under Jinbei until Jinbei left the sun pirates but I'm not sure.

to get a slightly different subject than jinbei and hancock to this threat again (i'm really sick of hearing those dull arguments for either bullshit stories)…
anyone with me when i claim that nami was also sent to weatharia because she posseses the log pose which can't be altered by a "normal" sky island such as weatharia?
we all know that the log set for skypia in the past, but that was only due to the fact that the upper yard was thrown there and so skypia was able to emit a magnetic field like the waterislands always do. when nami would have landed on a traditional island she would have to leave as soon as possible because of the danger that the log could change any other day and the course to fishmen island would be lost (not so sure if it would be that hard to get the log back on track/get to FI after that happens because fishman island is assumedly the only island right beneath or near red line and we have to go through FI anyway to get to the NW??! also hacchi, camie and pappage would be able to lend them a hand[which they'll do in due time anyway]).
considering this i also think that the SHs are staying on their respective islands for a little while, because oda included this in his thoughts as well to make it work.
nami would also be the very first to arrive wherever rayleigh is when she would have landed somewhere else than an isolated sky island since she is a skilled navigator, so it all points towards a late reunion of the strawhats, imo. -

You are forgeting that their ship also has a giant log pose on it as well. Which is chilling back at shabondy isles.

Remember, the archipelago is formed by the mangroves. There was no problem when they got there and had to search Rayleigh.

i actually never saw/noticed that giant log pose on the sunny-go but i trust you when you say there is one. cool… sunny-go is even greater than i thought she was!
but still, i think one of the navigators prior missions is to keep the log on track so nami would definitely fullfill her duty.

we all know that SA doesn't effect the log, that was set in stone. but we can't really be sure if the log will automaticly face towards FI (after a while) when you're at SA.
edit: can someone point out where the giant log pose is? can't seem to find it.

oh my bad just got a liking of Tiger Fish because it's easy to remember oh well
well my little not sure unsure little evidence Nyon said that "Fisher Tiger the Adventurer" passed away and split off into individual crews. -

well looking through the manga is a bitch to do when i don't have chapters downloaded except non animated ones.
But not sure if you will like this post, but check 328 (yea i know its filler episode) at like 5:04 and you can see a log pose sitting right in front of the steering helm thing. which makes sense, be the perfect place to put it.
I'll try and find a better example like manga for sure, but not sure if find it quickly or not
here you can see it in front of the helm in these two pages. though you can't see the needle, it is pretty obvious if you look at the anime example i showed that it is a pose

yeah i suppose that is a log pose and it totally makes sense to put one on the ship and exactly at that perticular point of the ship. (basing stuff out of fillers material is fubar though, but never mind that in this case.)still holding on to my "namis duty"-argument and of couse the possibility that the sunny might travel anywhere with anyone when the SHs are punied away, meanwhile adepting to many other magnetic fields, which would also be considered a possibility by nami.

the thing i like about the log pose being on the ship as well is that in the case of like Jaya. They could have kept the ship far enough away and used mini merry, or dropped some people off and went back out into ocean and wait for den den call.
so then they don't have to worry about the log of nami's resetting while they get information. Also i'm sure be nice to be able to steer the ship without having to check with nami constantly if htey are heading the right direction.
