We've seen marks inside of the auction houses though. Most recognizably Do Flamingo's smiley. Not much of a stretch to think that people do brand slaves. So even if it's not one of the more likely theories it could be possible seeing as there isn''t anything predominant that seems likely. So I think it's a bit much to say that his theory sucks.

Just because we see a symbol on a wall this leads to the logical next step that this same symbol is branded unto people? Symbol on a wall does not lead to the next step that very same symbol is branded on all slaves. In fact that's a horrible jump in logic. and yeah that makes a theory "suck." I think people are bringing their other Manga/Movie experiences where they've seen slaves branded. We've seen like 20~30+ slaves in OP… never have we seen one branded... never has their been any mentioning of marking or branding... we have no indication that Hancock has ever been a slave...

You're ignoring what I'm saying. I'm saying that the mark gives it as much credibility as any other theory that's been posted about the mark. So stop bashing people who are just trying to think of what it could be. Say why you don't think it won't happen, don't say this sucks in an insulting way. And about the whole, a shichibukai can't be a slave thing, if they were young it'd be possible, it's just as likely as a shichibukai being humiliated in any other way. And they're very humiliated by the mark obviously.

Saying some one's theory "sucks" isn't an insult. I didn't call them dumb or stupid. or personally insult them in any way. They presented a theory and I just told them why I think it's unlikely and that it "sucks". Please calm yourself. before I start insulting you for being so emotional. I just wanted to move the discussion along different lines.. because people seem pretty sure it's a slave mark now.. and are really set on this theory.. and stop coming up with other theories.

Ugh, now you're trolling, and posting things with nothing to do with the topic, in short one sentence posts. At least have something relevant to the topic then add these things as like little side notes to your posts. Edit- If you want the topic to move along a different line, say that it's unlikely then suggest a different theory. Whitebeard's mark and a slave mark are the most dominant theories because people just don't have many clues to try to figure out what it would be. There's no evidence for any theory at this point.

I really hope not. It's not because of the whole 'A shichibukai can't join.' thing. I don't want her to join, because I don't want the I'm a bitch because of '…' -Cry- join. No matter what the mark is, I don't think it justifies her other actions. She had no problem with killing Luffy, so I'm sure she's killed others to protect her secret. I could see her, turning around to do good deeds, I just don't see her joining.

Actually I mentioned a possible mark earlier besides the DoFlamingo mark that could help my theory (Though I doubt it since the marks are similar but not coherrent between the two, but it could still work as different markings between the two family members). The 2 slaves the Tenryubito showed off when they first showed up, Devil Dias, and the big ogre like guy, both have fairly similar tattoos (Not identical though so it puts my theory off a bit) and they both had sticthed up scars right underneath the mark. One of the marks was on the chest, the other on his head. Now it could obviously be just a simple pirate crew tattoo and both just be a similar scar on different parts of the body. But it is something Luffy has seen clearly before as it was his first introduction to the World Nobles (And afterall Luffy thinks he has seen it before but he can't tell where, thus something fleeting he wouldn't hold much attention too… deja vu if you will, which is different to the Sanji poster thing with Duval since he knew it right away because it dealt with his Nakamas 'shame' XD). Also those were the only two slaves we have had clear visibility of where most of there bodies were shown, that had already been in the custody of there owners and not something being sold at Auction. And it was those two (Afterall they said "don't hurt the mechandise" so they probably wouldn't mark them their selves any ways.)

And also your welcome to say the theory is not your cup of tea, but there is plenty of evidence to say it 'can' work and just because of lack of solid evidence (We know nothing of the Gorgon sisters past as its clear the curse is just a fabrication), does not make it impossible. I respect people trying to find ways to say it won't work, but I do not think it 'sucks'.

I mentioned this before in the spoiler thread but when Hancock cries.. she cries like one of the good guys... It reminds me of Nami crying.. and maybe even Luffy. Check out Chapter 333.. when Ussop leaves the crew after his fight with Luffy.. Nami and Luffy cry in a very similar manner.. one hand covering their eyes....

I think Oda is hinting that Hancock is one of the good guys.. if you only knew her full story (probably next chapter).

Not all of them can carry an arc by themselves (Following Chopper or Brook solo for weeks would cause me to go mad). Maybe we'll get truncated flashbacks or a coverstory, or a short three-four chapter arc for the others.

As long as it never feels drawn out, then im happy for them to take their time with it just as long as it stays interesting. I have this theory that Kuma sent them all to specific places for a reason and that they shall all meet at the same place (Ace's execution?!), so im willing to bet that we'll get our own mini arc for each of them

Considering we are not done with Luffy, the cycle with each crewmate will come around to be roughly 12-15+ chapters before reaching the next, ranging to about 96-120+ weeks before they get together again. Well possibly over two years since one year is roughly 52 weeks.

Not counting time off for research, holidays, and other misc. reasons.

And the execution talks come back once again. Ace is awesome yes but the crew should be getting to Fishman Island. Oda's been waving the wonders of Fishman island over our heads since post Enies Lobby arc. Granted, Thriller Bark Arc and Sabaody Archipelago were good and this arc is interesting with the development, but if you wave a possible treat in front of a pet (or candy in the case of kids) for too long they get upset and go off.

Well Ace's execution is in a week right? that seems kind of too soon for all of the SH together. Did Kuma really send everyone to a place that's within a few days of sailing distance from SA? Why did he tell Luffy they'll never meet again? Suicide death mission for Kuma? the Vice Admiral said he'll wait 2 days.. so I guess it takes 5 days or less to get to where Ace is being executed from Amazon Lily. I guess Luffy can be there… I wonder if Raleigh will show up.. for the entertainment value of it all... wonder what Dragon is thinking... will he show up?... man..

Oda will be totally GOD if he has Dragon/Raleigh/WB/BB + Schibukai all in the same place along with the 3 Admirals/ tons of Vice Admirals (including Garp).... WOW... hahaha.. SH might want to duck out of there quick... things might get ugly...

My pet theory is that Ace will live... because even if it costs his life.. WB will not let his Nakama die... he'll make sure Ace is free before he goes down (if he goes down). Plus don't know if Dragon as a father can just sit by and watch his son die (assuming Ace is his son). WB doesn't seem like the kind of man that can be stopped if he wants to save his Nakama from certain death. It's like when Luffy went after Robin... you know he's going to get her even if it costs his life...

WB handling all 3 admirals at the same time while Ace goes free will be totally AWESOME... WB is "the strongest man in the world" probably will go down right after that.. though... sad.. (I think it will be Luffy who will ultimately bring an end to WG; WB will make the first unsuccessful attempt and Luffy will learn from it)

You know... if Dragon is serious about toppling the WG.. this is an opportunity like no other. Even if his own son (Ace) was not involved.. to have WB and the might of his full crew moving against Marine HQ and WG.. would be the best time for him and his forces to make an all out confrontation.. what do you guys think? Dragon + WB against WG/Marine HQ will be totally awesome.. haha..

And? Oda has a knack of taking his time with his arcs resulting in them being super long and super enjoyable. Besides this looks to be the finale of the first half of One Piece, say they all have individual adventures and each one represents merely one piece of the entire puzzle which accumulates together into the huge war that is going to occur? I think that would be awesome.

not sure if Nami was technically a "slave" or had the marked forced on her… that's probably wrong. I'm pretty sure she chose to wear the tattoo to gain Arlong's trust and to make sure he kept his end of the bargain. She was his "nakama" technically. Plus the tattoo would give her protection from other Pirate Crews that would fear to mess with any of Arlong's crew.

If you're calling me out on the part about some of the members not being able to carry an arc solo, I guess it's just a matter of personal preference. Chopper doesn't have the presence to fill the void, I feel. And I suppose I'm in the minority that finds Brook's gimmicks to be forced and annoying as fuck 80% of the time. Oda might be able to pull it off, but I think I'd rapidly loose interest after three chapters with those two bouncing around alone.

Unlike most ppl I don't think Oda will show us much of the war. Yea it sucks for some ppl but unless the SHs are directly involved in it I don't see Oda spending a lot of time on it other than the start, something interesting in the middle, a fight that will be important down the line, and the end;the winner, most likely WG.

As for it lasting the rest of the series I highly doubt that. I mean we still have Dragon to focus on unless you think he too will directly involve himself in the war. If not we really don't know much about the revolutionaries and I think they will get a lot of focus.

I remember somebody else mentioning something like that in regards to Luffy recruiting Marge and then finding Brook first and then Franky so those 3 could get the most character development since they are the most recent nakama.........

My opinion is that Oda will not do an arc for every character. We will just follow Luffy until he meets up with everyone. However long that takes. Hopefully sooner than later. I'm thinking along these lines because Luffy is central to the story and we've always followed him. OP is in a sense Luffy's story and everything that happens around him. I am opne to a single chapter that shows where the various members of the SH crew are at the current moment. Maybe a single chapter.. perhaps even 2 chapters that show us what the rest of them are upto.

Of course there is no evidence for my opinion.. just my own thoughts.. nothing more…
