I do understand the purpose of those jail cells and how they are suppose to function. It's that at this moment, when he fainted it was due to the water and not the bars.
But he can't use them.
Whether submerged underwater or inside those special seastone jail cells, a DF user can't use his power on his own. They don't lose their powers at all. If they did lose their powers, Brooke would have long been dead as soon as he fell in water and Chopper would automatically become a normal reindeer. Seastone and the sea makes them weak.The jail cells radiate the same.
If you still don't get it, then I'm done.

It's not like it was on purpose. BF has, for years, been the conveyor of extremely precise information and has always been careful to sift though the BS. It was just a mistake. But I find it funny how that reputation caused a tremor in the manga world.
Maybe the stone curse doesn't work on luffy because hes already cursed with his devil fruit (like 2 curses at the same time won't work). I could see some devil fruits secrets being lifted.

Regarding Hancock's back, I'm half-expecting the "eyes" to be peel off stickers just for the joke of it. Though Luffy's not getting stoned does suggest there's something off about the amazons' story of Hancock and her sisters.

Boa's subject has been discussed and overdiscussed in the spoilers and now in the chapter arc. Could you all please wait for more informations? I know it's boring to wait but to read the same topic again and again makes it even more boring :)

I'm really liking the theories being made here.
1. Boa is a Skypian, it could very well be, but luffy hasn't seen a 'stump' instead of wings on anyone previously.
2. Whitebeard Pirates Tattoo, this is likely since Luffy has seen Ace's tattoo a few times in the past.
3. Something Luffy saw in his childhood ie. Boa is his mother. As muchas Hancock is a TOTAL BITCH, I'm really warming up to the thought of Boa being his Mother. Perhaps the reason she's a total bitch is because Luffy (maybe Ace too?) were taken away from her becuase fo her amazonian status ie girls only. Dragon broke her heart, thus she hates men? Luffy could very well be the thing that quells her mean streak, re-union with her son after X years, sounds like a great plot. But this still doesn't make sense, she had no reaction to Ace's execution news..BUT I think I read distinctly that somewhere ALL amazonian women can only give birth to girls..:getlost:

Not that I think my idea will come to fruition but I guess I should qualify it just the same. IF they turned out to be wings, I doubt she's from Skypiea. Many of them seemed to exhibit recessive gene traits and she's definitely got some dominant gene traits. However, she'd fit right in with Shandia.
And although, yes, it makes for a funny joke that she has hideous sisters, who'd be willing to bet that them having blonde hair while she's jet black is more important than just a joke. I wonder if she was 'found' and adopted or something and the wings are proof that she isn't one of them which is why she'd need to hide them.
Naturally you could say the same if she has WB's tattoo.
BUT that's if it's even true which, I really don't have much faith in that theory. Just something that popped in.

The differences between the sisters are really distinct in a lot of ways. I wouldn't be shocked if they weren't blood relatives.

I didn't really know which way Oda would take it.
Yeah, he had 'the boys' talking about how beautiful she was in TB but since the tribe thinks strength is beauty, I was wondering if he would depict her as, well, her sisters were depicted and make them drop-dead knock-outs with her beauty being a trick of some kind. But he took another path and while I think it made for a great 'WTF-mate?' moment I can't help but wonder if it has a deeper meaning.

I hope that something important for the one piece story will happen in ch 518 cause now luffy and Boa met. He wasn't petrified by looking at her back but she also said "how about turning into stone" well we'll see. Anyway has anyone mentioned that the Gorgon female with the snake tongue has a tremendous waist? :) A good fight between luffy and the gorgon sisters should take place to change their world views (specially Boa …) :) That's my opinion.

I think the whole "eyes of stone on the back" are just a rouse so that someone can't identify her by seeing her back. Good story. However, she can still turn people to stone, such as on the boat in the previous chapter. So how is someone who's been turned to stone going to argue how they were turned to stone?

Apparantly according to some new posts on 2ch/Mangahelper, Oda's real announcement is…his rank in the magazine is lower this week because he was late with a couple pages of his manuscript. Luckily it's relieving with all that HxH crap that I ended up believing in.
Oh, and the issue is coming out on Saturday meaning we'll probably see this week's chapter sooner than usual (like the one a few weeks back with Kizaru's first appearance)

Well not quite the back: if you don't count the newish series that are in Jump (Asclepius which actually is possibly immune but may currently be ranked yet without us really acknowledging or knowing it), there are six series ahead of OP in the weekly rankings. Naruto is exempt due to it's latest cover, but surprisingly Bleach may only be in the Top 5 this time due to Oda's goof. (it's #5…and could be a rank lower if OP was there)

There are no weekly rankings. At least not any decided by fans. Oda addressed this in a recent SBS. The order of series in JUMP are decided purely by the edtor-in-chief who decides which series they want to 'sell' that week.

The ranks are a combination of editor preference and the "three favorites of the weeks" cards people send in, so it's a bit of both that decide. Though I really think that the editor probably had a grudge for Oda being late if this is what knocks him down.

I've read the first couple of chapters of Asklepios and it's not something that seems it'll be overly interesting. That announcement is a whole lot better then, 'Well let's take some time off.' I'm glad I wasn't here for that scare.
I still believe that the mark on Boa's back has been in the manga so far. I don't think it'll be some random thing brought out of the blue.
