i like boa but she also scares me.
she wants to have her cake and eat it to in a way
it seems that she is not scared of the world government or care but she likes the title. in a way it gives to her greedy nature she has the title of shichi but also in a way have the title of a yonkou with the empress theme but she also has a title of princess in a way she is all seven sins in one except for being angry and wants every thing

One Manga has a good scan now, if the bad quality still shows, refresh a lot.

Nma… Hancock is so spoiled...
-
I think what's going to happen is that Luffy will be recaptured and when Hancock finds out who he is she'll try to use him as a bargaining chip with Momonga so that she can avoid the war while keeping her Shichibukai title.
Throw in a subplot with Marguerite trying to covertly save Luffy because she's realized that men aren't so bad after all, and some more crap, and we can call it an arc.
-
Sounds probable. Of course, this is Oda, so…
-
She tried to kill him just a moment ago. Why would she feel like negotiating all of a sudden?
-

Why would she do that? She isn't afraid of them at all…that would seem cowardly. She is a go-getter, so she will just take what she wants by force. (IMO).
-
Just throwing stuff out there. Though I do believe that Luffy will end up recaptured at some point.
-
Great chapter, spoilers didnt give it justice (as usual)

I'm hoping he has to fight in that arena.

So… that she can keep her status like she said she wants to. Did you read the chapter? XD If she was planning to kill the vice admiral she would have done it at that moment. If she kills him the w.g is obvoiusly gonna investigate and they will find out that she did it and her status will be revoked anyway. She either has something planned or hopes to find a way to bargain out staying a shichibukai while not fighting.
Also a few shout outs
Congrads to whoever called Boa being a schibukai, not wanting to participate in men and their wars, being beautiful and being an enemy of luffy. (No way in hell luffy could get along with her)
And then, those who called some schibukai would rebel, and that the W.G would strip the schibukai who refused.
You all did a good job, congrats. ^.^

Damn because of the first crappy version of the chap I didn't notice that Luffy had Margaret take off the frills. I wanted them to stay on until someone who knew him so it…. ah well.
Crappy prediction, I guess:
Amazons capture Luffy again, Margret shows affection for him in some way by saying don't hurt him or something or outright says she likes him or she doesn't want to see him get hurt/die. The amazons take this for Margaret being in love even though that she isn't just trying to show Luffy mercy. the amazons blame Luffy for tricking her.Hancock overhears this all and instead of just reprimanding Margaret she uses Luff to her advantage(cuz she knows who he is). She declares that the 2 should be married because Margret's love can't be helped(mind you this all a facade) but she says the only way Luffy can is if he proves himself. Ofcourse the whole time Luffy is protesting against this but nobody listens. She sends Luffy to go fight Vice Admiral Momonga, so yea they fight with Hancock having the thought in mind to just kill both of them. Margret finds out and i guess tries to help and/or stop it. More stuff happens somehow they escape.
So yea umm there you have this arc lol or atleast that's the gist of it.
/crappy prediction. On another note if WB was smart he'd just start things off with a preemptive strike and attack the marines earlier than suspected since the location has been decided for Ace's execution
-

So, she did not try to kill him? Did you read the chapter? xD
Hancock: "How about this? The Marines that came to escort me were met with strange 'accident' on the sea, and all turned into stone."
Anyways. My point was that if she really felt threatened, she wouldn't respond with cowardice. She would be more likely to do something sly, or just kill him or something. Granted, I do not know enough of her to say for sure, but her attitude shown up until now was enough to suggest this.
-
Ahhhh! Kitten-kicker! She's so going down. I hope Sanji eventually meets up with her, looks her square in the eyes and says, "You're not really a lady," and then BAM! shows her how real beauty should act!
(For optimum results, please read the above statements with sarcasm levels set to "maximum." Except for the part concerning the kitten. hiss Thank you.)

At the very least, this would be a good way to put Luffy on a boat with Marguerite/Margaret on on their way back to Shaboady. Not to mention I bet that Marine ship has some eternal log pose to get them where they need to be. Not a dumb prediction, but the marriage stuff is a little silly.
PS - I bet the Amazon's would be the first women to actually like Sanji. Since he is kind of classy.
-
Well, those who said Hancock wouldn't be beautiful, well, you couldn't be more wrong, she is gorgeous. I love her personality too, can't wait for her to meet Luffy, there's going to be some clash of personalities there, oh boy…
And Margaret keeps interacting with Luffy pretty nicely, hopefully she'll join, but who knows.. -
Was anyone else getting a strong Alabasta-Robin vibe from Hancock? Ice queen.
Also, check out the woman standing on the very right of the first panel on page 9. Not only is she as buff as humanoid Chopper, it appears she's shirtless. Hot stuff if you ask me.
Other notes: Hancock was able to use her ability although the Marines were traveling on a seastone-plated ship. I guess she wasn't in close enough proximity. Also, I'm glad they're fleshing out some of the Vice-Admirals, since the only one we know, Garp, is quite an interesting character, and also fairly powerful.
-

Actually, he can use the vivre card paper to get back, so he doesn't need eternal posts.
-

Gross!! She looks like Humanoid Chopper topless. Scroll to the far left and you will get a much better beauty who is also topless. Well, more or less since she has a cape or jacket covering part of her.
Actually, he can use the vivre card paper to get back, so he doesn't need eternal posts.
Good point. The rest still stands. Plus, for sure Nami will want the eternal pose…
-
Hancock did try to kill Momonga, she tried to turn his whole crew including him in to stone. Stabbing his hand is what saved him.
After seeing that she didn't put anymore effort in trying to kill him since she felt that by himself could not do anything.
If yall haven't noticed Momonga was complaining about the sea kings in calm belt he just wasn't randomly stating facts of what he did. I don't care if he is a vice admiral a person on a ship by himself in a nest of sea kings some the size of islands is gonna have a hard time surviving. he said he was gonna wait 2 days I'm guessing he has some spare ship following them by the start of the calm belt or he is confident that he won't die from sea kings.

Oh the marriage stuff was meant to be that just for laughs, more of a useless plot focus than anything, it won't come to be of any importance since like I said before Boa plans to kill the both of them any(Luffy and Momonga).

Whatever happened to calling them Poses?[/anal]
Even with the Vivrecard, I highly doubt Luffy has the navigational and seafaring skills to sail through stuff like storms, fog, etc. He even admitted so back during the Arlong Arc (Though he did also claim to not be able to cook…).
-
I love Boa Hancock's design! It's great to see a female Shichibukai. Caught me by surprise. I'm really eager to see how this whole Ace execution is gonna play out.

Am I the only one hugely worried for Ace? He's got ONE WEEK.
-
Am I the only one hugely worried for Ace? He's got ONE WEEK.
He can die, he wasn't that much of a good character anyway. I think we've seen all we could from him.
I'd like for WB to not die like ppl are predicting since we could learn so much from him based on what we already know. I mean one question that is obvious is why he just won't get OP already. I'd like to hear why from him…....
-
if nobody has noticed:
Boa Hancock(atrice)
since Boa is the name used by all 3 sisters, Hancock's animal theme is the Cockatrice, which fits her better than just…a boa.
also, with those long legs, perhaps she was designed to look like a serpent.
hahahahahahah… serprents have tiny legs though hehehe

Im surprised this thread been stickied, or the spoiler thread locked. Aren't there forum admins viewing the thread??Excellent.Am I the only one hugely worried for Ace? He's got ONE WEEK.
I want him to die. It would be so powerful if Oda killed someone in the series…and not just someone, but the main characters brother! Plus, like Moria mentions below me if you are pulling your hair out about it now, then expect to most likely be pulling your hair out for about 2 years. I would guesstimate that is how long it will take to reach his excecution.
-
I think it would be good if he died too for the plot…
Also, you shouldn't be worried about him having one week if he doesn't die. The Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark arcs both happened in one night (not the same night obviously).
-
Right. If Oda's going to break his ''No one dies in One Piece'' rule, it's going to be for something huge. And I'd think that this is pretty huge. Also, I'd like to see wha tLuffy's reaction would be, because as far as we the audience know, he hasn't really experienced loss like the rest of crew have.

Ive got two minds about it though…this is One Piece...pell should have died, the shabondians should have died...but not necessarily Ace...I can also see the benefits to the series though...it would make the strawhats goal also to bring down the WG to some extent as well...not to mention how Garp and Dragon may react... Actually, since the WG are devoting so much resources to WB, Dragon will most likely attack...I don't think they may be able to handle him at that stage...the world in OP is going to turn into chaos...cant wait

While I think it would be indeed powerful if Ace were actually to die, there are some concerns I'd have with that happening. And it actually has nothing to do with me liking or disliking Ace's character. In all honesty, I'd prefer him to die to add back some realism to the story.
But, after so much cannon-fodder has survived, if Oda were to kill Ace, that'd be such a slap in the face to Ace's character. My gosh, Conis' dad on Skypiea survived Enel's lightening bolt attack. [/rant]
-
I agree that Pell and Conis' dad should've died, but the Shabodians lived since the other SH survived Eneru's (weaker) attacks.
-
I actually rather like Ace. He's similar to his brother in some ways but vastly different in others. I would've liked to know his reasons for supporting Whitebeard, his history in the D. family, any past clashes with big-name pirates, etc. That, and fire is one of the coolest elements period, but that's just me.
And after Momonga's " 'None'…is not the same as 'one' " line, I'm pretty convinced he's a badass. I'm sure a vice-admiral probably wouldn't be able to handle a Shichibukai alone, but at the same time I feel like he's not a helpless weakling either.
-
It seemed to me she wasn't all that serious with her confrontation with the marines. I would like to think that when she has to use her animal partner/weapon is when she is really serious. It just looks like her stone-turning ability is used when she really isn't trying. Kind of like, not exactly like, Shanks using his aura/Haki when he boarded Whitebeards ship.
-
Hancock probably doesn't think the vice admiral can't sail the ship by himself. I don't think she actually believes Sea Kings will be enough to kill someone with that high of a rank in the marines. Though I have a huge question why not use a Den Den Mushi during the two days to report back to the marine HQ about a possible traitor, since she's obviously planning to get rid of him somehow. Hopefully Oda gives us some reason why he doesn't use a den den mushi otherwise that could be a plot hole.
-
He's probably going to do that but by the time it does he might already be dead coughorsurvivedsomehowcough
Although in One Piece, pretty much the only ones who die in the present are the marines.
-

I kinda agree with you. Ace is a cool character and all, but I truly think that him dying would be a very powerful moment.
For example:
At the execution ground, Whitebeard and crew are fighting the Shichibukai…it's a huge battle while Ace is up on the stand with the guards ready to kill him. The Strawhats are also there...not fighting but on-looking. Ace sees Whitebeard fighting valliantly. They're eyes both meet with a degree of sadness, but Ace still smirks. Ace turns and sees Luffy. He smiles and under his breath he says, "Later, bro." And they kill him in front of both Whitebeard and Luffy.Yeah, I know it's not that good, but I would like to see how Luffy and Whitebeard would react if they both saw Ace die before their eyes.
-
@Die:

For both posts, I would say 'not quite'. In all of those cases it was a ridiculous act of someone surviving an attack. All of which we can simply shrug it off and say, "Ok, it would never happen in real life, but for the sake of the story…whatever." This situation would be different. Public excecution. We are talking about having Ace's head chopped off. No tricks. No sleight of hand. Head…off. I don't think Oda would just be like, "Har-diddly-har!! His head is back on and he survived because...stuff!!"
You know?
Edit: And for the record. I like Ace.

That's true and it was a little silly just to kill nobodies like that but Oda killed Roger, arguably the greatest pirate in the series even though we haven't seen anything from him and it was due to an incurable sickness.
I think it'd be fine for Oda to kill Ace since he failed his mission.
If it counts for anything Ace probably won't die from the execution as planned, he'll probably die protecting a crew member or Wb or taking a killing blow from BB…..
-
He can die, he wasn't that much of a good character anyway. I think we've seen all we could from him.
My sentiments exactly.
However, considering the minor characters that survived, Oda-sensei is gonna have to have some pretty huge balls if he does kill off Ace. Ace IS one of the top ten most popular characters in the series isnt he? If I remember he's the only non-strawhat besides Shanks that ranks that high in popularity. -
It was a great chapter I was just confused about some thing I was hoping you guy's could help me with.
1.What happened on the first page? The first page isn't up at Onemanga :<
2.Momonga says he was being pursued…was it by the Seaking he killed?
3.Was the whole point of the rendevous to tell Boa the date of the execution and that all Shichibukai have to attend?
4.Why did Boa lie about her response? In fact...what was her response?
5.If the Kuja at Amazon Lily say Boa is returning...where has she been?I mean she just met at the Randevous point so she can't be returning from thier...
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Oh yeah I also love Momonga's "ONE is not the same as NONE" line. -

Momonga says in the chapter he will wait because he doesn't want to go back empty handed. If you ask me, calling and reporting that she won't come is the same as returning and reporting that she won't come. Right?
@Scratchmax:
Q: What happened on the first page? The first page isn't up at Onemanga :<
A: Probably best just to read it yourself when it is up, but: Luffy's frills are taken off his clothes, and he talks about getting to his crew ASAP.Q: Momonga says he was being pursued…was it by the Seaking he killed?
A: Yes. He mentions in the same sentence that he doesn't want to stay in the "Monsters' nest".Q: Was the whole point of the rendezvous to tell Boa the date of the execution and that all Shichibukai have to attend?
A: No. Momonga said that Boa told the WG she would come. Since she never showed up, he came to collect her or revoke her title as consequence for not complying.Q: Why did Boa lie about her response? In fact…what was her response?
A: She didn't want to be involved in war, she hates the WG. She just likes her title.Q: If the Kuja at Amazon Lily say Boa is returning…where has she been? I mean she just met at the Rendezvous point so she can't be returning from there...
A: Likely out plundering and pirating and such. Who knows though.^^ There you go =)

Try refreshing a lot, I had too also.
2.Momonga says he was being pursued…was it by the Seaking he killed?
Yesh.
3.Was the whole point of the rendevous to tell Boa the date of the execution and that all Shichibukai have to attend?
He came to do that because Boa hadn't shown up or something after everyone else was probably there.4.Why did Boa lie about her response? In fact…what was her response?
She said yes probably but when she didn't show up, he was sent after her.
5.If the Kuja at Amazon Lily say Boa is returning…where has she been?I mean she just met at the Randevous point so she can't be returning from there...
Probably from pillaging and stoning some poor fodder village.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
Oh yeah I also love Momonga's "ONE is not the same as NONE" line. Also, doesn't Momonga look different? I don't remember him being so muscular or having such a big stache.
EDIT: Gah Brennen, you beat me!

Yeah, he must work out.

I totally understand your point, and I know for story purposes, having Ace die would add alot to the story. But IMO, at the same time the fodder he let survive in those ridiculous circumstances takes away from the impact, and instead of being powerful, it just makes me upset. And it's not like Oda went out of his way to indicate that attacks missed the character or something partially blocked the attacks. The attacks were made and shrugged off in an instant. Simply Ridiculous if you ask me.
For the record, I like Ace too ^_^
But, my point is this. If a writer does not even waste the time to kill off no-name no-development characters, how is this same writer supposed to kill off a well-named, popular, developed character? I say "impossible" and Ace will not die. Of course, I think Oda's view has changed over the years because I don't think he was always afraid of killing off a character here or there.
Edit: Thought I'd add this because some can't read between the lines. I'm not ranting because I want every third character to die. I'm simply saying that due to Oda's consistent behaviour in having characters (that are not main ones) survive ridiculous circumstances cheapens the suspense one should feel at dire times like "Ace's execution in one week!"
-
ah wonder if Boa Hancock will help Luffy or something since she seems to despise the WG
-
@Salamander:
ah wonder if Boa Hancock will help Luffy or something since she seems to despise the WG
She probably hates men more.
-
If Oda does kill Ace, he'd probably wriggle around his rules by showing it in a flashback, since anyone can die in a flashback, no matter what their importance.

Eh, I don't really think that matters. He can break his "rules" since he's the author. It might be in flashback though.
Yeah, he must work out.
Lol what movie was that from again?
-
This was a pretty good chapter. I have to see what will happen next week. I'm willing to bet that either next week or the week after, the chapter will end with Luffy running into Hancock as he's running from the women chasing him.
