Was it me or did anyone else thing January Jones/ Emma Frost looked like a fembot.
Yeahhhh…It's not just you.

So yeah. Finally saw First Class.
Really enjoyed it. Better than my previous expectations. I'm that big of a know-it-all when it comes to X-Men, but I think I got the gist of most of the references(if there were any.)
As said before, the relationship and development of Charles and Erik was phenomenal.
Saw it yesterday. Woooooow, do I have a lot to say.

-Xavier and Hank are serious douchebags. Poor, poor Mystique.
-The effects for a lot of the powers in the movie were pretty good. Love how they managed Angel and Shaw's powers.
-Speaking of Shaw, Bacon was fucking pimp! Seriously, I never imagined one of my most favorite casting choices of this movie would be Kevin mother fucking Bacon. Seriously…
-Magneto was awesome. Kind of hot, but hey, I'm not really looking toward Magneto for that. Though, I know the yaoi images are going to be pouring out like melted butter. sigh If only it were that easy for Mortal Kombat characters...
-I hated that Havok was in this movie: Havok is Scott's little brother, how they hell is that going to work out? Whatever. Beyond that, I thought Havok was flawless. The kid the picked for him was perfect. And cute to boot.
-Didn't know Moira would be in the movie, but damn, she was good. Didn't have the accent, but her actual character and looks (she's hot as well.....lot of hot people in this movie) made up for that.
-I was surprised by how much I liked Banshee.
-January Jones wasn't as bad as everyone made her out to be. I've seen so much worse, and it's not like Emma Frost isn't a sultry whore anyway. Everyone keeps comparing her to Halle Berry in the original X-Men movie. At least January was pulling off a decent Emma, I don't know what the fuck Halle was going for.
-Speaking of Halle, Storm's two second cameo made me smile.
-Speaking of cameos, Logan's cameo was PERFECT!
-In my next life, I want to have the power to turn into diamond. Seriously, that looked awesome. So much better effects than Origins, where she looked like she was made of 'bling' instead of 'diamond'.
-Ending didn't feel as rushed as everyone made it out to be.
-Biggest issue with the movie: I have no idea where they can go with the X-Men series without doing a reboot.[/hide]

! -Maybe Xavier and Beast were wrong from a certain pov but I could understand why he felt that way. If I were Mystique, I would have stayed with Charles for taking care of her for so long
-As I said, the battle between Angel vs Havok and Banshee looked horrible because it felt the scene was done at the last minute. The most impressive scene was Magneto lifting the sub, perfection at every level.
-Bacon was awesome. I loved how Shaw slaughters the whole CIA HQ and is like "Good evening ! I can take this silly thing off !". Even a villain understands that manners cost nothing. Bacon was impressive (like Fassbender) in using multi language
-Magneto was uber awesome because he had a lot of interesting things to say and for a villain you have empathy with him and you kinda understand why he is acting that way. Btw, there are a lot of yaoi fanarts on deviantart (already). My favourite was "Will you marry me ? Refusal was never an option !" lol lol
-Havok was good as well but I wanted more of him (much like everyone else). I think his moment of awesomness was when he had to shoot between Xavier and Beast. The look on Hank's face was priceless. When Alex succeeded, I loved his reaction because he was happy without being too arrogant and I loved his expression of gratitude towards Xavier. Humility and progression shown by mere expressions.
-I wanted more of Moira and she had great chemistry with Xavier. I wanted to undress after she was developed. There is nothing hotter than a strong female character who undresses.
-Banshee was cool. His training was so funny. I loved how Magneto "helps him to fly" and during the Cuba mission he tells Eric to back off. lol lol. When Banshee prepared to jump off the plane, I was so excited and I don't think I was that thrilled since Big Boss's HALO jump in MGS3.
-I was ok with January jones too. I loved how she was eating crackers while the russian general thought he was making out with her.
-Yeah Logan's cameo was awesome. I knew it was him when i saw his cigar. I usually don't like when movies use the F word too much but here it worked perfectly. The contrast between their politeness and his rudeness was hilarious and it was short.
-About the ending, a reviewer on the guy with glasses said that this is what SW episode 1 should have been. They thought that Magneto and Raven fall could have been explored in sequels. However, I think the film makers anticipated that the movie could be a flop at the box office. The lack of posters in my town made me believe this not to mention the tight schedule and lack of known actors. I am guessing they made a self sufficient ending that leads to X1. Maybe, there were other conflicts between Charles and Magneto before X1.
! I am amazed about how much I said about this film. I clearly remember that I wasn't that descriptive after watching the Dark knight (I have watched it 3 times and considered the best comic movie by many critics) maybe because the film was telling you everything and felt arrogant and less genuine (in real life, normal people would have blown the boats without hesitation). All these very genuine and human details would not have been possible in 3D.
! I am really glad that the movie with the least advertisement, hype, production time is getting better reviews than the other super hero movies. Even Red Letter Media was hyped to see this movie for months because the trailers were perfect (my opinion as well).
I've seen it once before but i'm going to see it again in an hour with a mate who hasn't seen it. It's by far my favorite X-Men movie
Havok being Cyclops' younger brother isn't really an important facet of his character, so I don't see what the big deal is.

I mean, it wasn't a movie destroying factor or anything…
But it's like having a One Piece movie focusing on Shanks, and then he takes Ace under his wing and make Ace the younger brother of Luffy. It doesn't make sense and is just weird. Again, doesn't ruin the movie, but it's a complete slap toward the original work's logic and makes the possibility of a Cyclops and Havok team up just.....awkward. I don't know. I always liked Scott and Alex as big and little brother, as Alex always came off as the rookie in contrast to Scott.
Now if they make a sequel and add Polaris to the cast, I will completely forgive that. Especially if they have the same Havok actor. But I might be asking too much.

I am happy about that, but….
If there is any superhero movie I want to do better than all the others, it's Captain America. Not even because I like Chris Evans. Not even because I think it will be awesome. Entirely because I hope that a superhero as legendary as Captain America gets the movie he deserves.

I am not very familiar with Captain America, I know him through the Marvel vs Capcom series. One thing sure, it takes serious guts to wear this flashy outfit in the middle of a battlefield. The trailer looks decent, I like the retro style. However, the movie does not seem as deep and interesting than FC. It looks pretty damn entertaining.
Captain America is a great story. In his youth, he was immensely, physically weak, but had a heart of gold. During the events of WWII, he tried to enlist him, but was cast aside for his own protection due to his frail body. However, he wanted to join the army and fight the Axis, as he felt "what the Axis was doing was unforgivable and he can't stand around without putting up a fight against them". His vigor and integrity is noticed and he is chosen for an experiment for a super serum. The serum gives him the strength he has now, and makes him one of the most popular and powerful superhero who doesn't have any powers beyond what man can possess.
I think the best example of how awesome Captain America is was from a horrible comic arc called 'Ultimatum' from the Ultimate universe. Thor's lover, Valkyrie (another hero), dies in battle, and Thor decides to go to Valhalla (place where dead souls of many warriors roam) to save her and bring her back. Captain America, who apparently died, helps Thor within Valhalla. When the two find her, they are given a choice: he can only save two souls from Valhalla.
Knowing that Thor would most likely save Cap and Valkyrie, Captain tells him this: "Would Valkyrie wish to return to the world of the living…..WITHOUT YOU?" Implying that he will willingly stay dead for the sake of the two lovers. THAT IS BAD ASS!
Thor, who is very selfless as well, choses to save Cap and Valkyrie and stays behind.

Even the (almost) completely shit writer Jeph Loeb can turn Captain America into a badass because his character is that strong. I'd have to say both Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes are two of the Marvel Universe's best characters. Yeah Captain America better kick ass.

Another one ?!!
Well I do remember Hugh Jackman saying he would like to do a Wolverine sequel set in Japan. Plus one of the stingers of the Origins movie was him taking refugee in Japan for a bit. So yeah no surprise really, just hope they keep the quality of First Class.
Things are really getting mucky now though. If we're getting a sequel to a movie apparently ruled out of continuity by First Class….my heads hurting. I would have preferred a full reboot instead of them picking and choosing what is canon and when.

They do that all the time with the comics so I see no reason not to do it with the movies when you got directors and producers/writers making their own shitty versions instead of continuing with what was established.
From what I saw at the IMDB Lady Deathstrike is in with the same actress that played her in X2 so it will most likely follow the good movies story (x-men,X2 and first class).

I doubt it. Fox forgot that having a various cast of characters can be a good thing because it can create interesting relationships. I loved how Wolverine "proved" his identity to Cyclops in the first film.
Picking Wolverine is a lazy move because he is very popular with the "dumb" audience who think that GI joe was good. For me, X men is more about team work than one character.
Going into this movie Fox was really uncertain about were the X Men franchise was going. From what I gather, they had a "X-Men 4" in semi-production and were also "sort of" working on another Wolverine movie at the time of First Class and didn't really know were they were going. Because of this uncertainty they didn't spend a ton on First Class and just waited for its release, and when it opened to great reviews and a very good box office performance they automatically green lighted it to be a trilogy and the next flagship for the franchise. Unfortunately this last minute decision, like usual, probably fucks everything up for a great trilogy. In an ideal world the trilogy would solely focus on Charles and Eric and over three movies build up to their tragic falling out were Charles gets crippled and Eric becomes Magneto. But Because they knew that if the movie wasn't made into a trilogy and it ended with Eric still not being Magneto and left things unresolved then people would rightfully get super pissed, so they were forced to put what should have been the trilogies storyline into the ending.
And while I will hopefully be proven wrong, the series has nowhere to really go after a fantastic first installment. This is why I hate when studio's don't go all in or out on a movie going in, either tell the director you want him to make a trilogy or not. You keep getting these bad sequels from people who had no idea going in that it would get one. Almost all of the best trilogies, Lord of The Rings, the original Star Wars, and the Bourne movies to name a few, all knew that the story was spanning 3 movies going in and were made accordingly. Now I know that the studio's couldn't really do this on a consistent basis because they always run the risk of having the first one bomb and leaving the other two to never be made but you got to put more faith in your movies if you really want some good ones.
The Wolverine was going to be directed by Aronofsky, so it had lots of promise, but then he pussied out because of earthquakes in Japan. He did say that it would be a "one-shot" movie though, meaning it was out of continuity from every other X-Men film, including Origins.
