The War With Whitebeard

In One Piece the movie 10 trailer, we can still see both WB and Shanks, and OP 10 is supposed to occur after Luffy arrives to the new world(hence after Shabondi park, and after fishman island arc). This means WhiteBeard WILL survive.

Anyway, what do you know about WB and his crew yet? You assume the Shichibukai are stronger because you saw their strength(but Luffy kicked the ass of 2 of them already), what did you see of WB's powers? He has yet to be revealed, just like Kaidou, Akainu, Sengoku, Jinbei, etc.

Added, this is the Pirate world. It is not 1vs1 fights or even 10vs10 fights. The marines have hundreds of battleships, and I suppose that WB might have them too.

Uhhh, maybe becuase new guys are going to live longer than old guys? He's not going to live forever, and whichever new guys rise to the top will be there to take his place. That doesn't necessarily mean his demise is imminent.

The one common misconception that I'm seeing throughout this thread is that many people seem to be underestimating the war itself. It seems that people believe that the war will be over in two arcs or less. IMO this war will span over the entire second half of One Piece ending about two arcs before the end. Wars are not short people. The govt. not going to crank this war out in a matter of weeks. Shit, the war hasn't even started yet! People are just "mobilizing." people are speaking of the near "Fall of Whitebeard." He isn't going to fall until the near end of the series. Luffy will meet up with Whitebeard. I didn't see it happening at first, but the Strawhats will get wrapped up in this war. It obviously will not happen of their own volition, but they will sail some where and end up in the midst of battle, fighting alongside Shanks and Whitebeard.

Here some of the other highlights of this war:

• Ace will not die.
• Ace will follow in the footsteps of Whitebeard and will aspire to become Pirate King himself.
• Ace will become a Yonkou.
• Whitebeard will die.
• Blackbeard will have nothing to do with it.
• Luffy will become pirate king as a direct result of his envolvment in the war.
• Usopp's bravery in the war will gain him 8000 followers.
• Dragon's gonna fuck some shit up and talk to his son.
• Zoro will pwn Mihawk ftw.
• The war will happen in All Blue (bullshit)
• The war will depicted in little tidbits through out futeure arcs, but once the Strawhats enter the war it ends in that arc.
• We won't see the 7th Shichibukai for another 3 arcs from now.
• These are just my thoughts.

And Plus I was bull shitting on that one. You can't "become" Yonkou. It's more like Ace will take Whitebeard's spot in the New World Order that will emerge after the war.

Isn't Whitebeard interested only in saving Ace and not declaring a full war against the WG but since he was provoked... So I pretty much see it as a more up scale version of Enies Lobby and not a long term war.

I think it won't be beneficial and a total waste of resources for the WG to have a long term war against a Yonkou. Keeping the Shichibukai busy for that long means that their purpose to scare other pirates will be "useless" (for a lack of a better word) as long as the war continues.

That's not the way I see it. WB may just want to barge in and take Ace back but obviously the WG not going to let that happen. It's going to be a public execution. They are baiting WB to try something, meaning that they have something up their sleeve. This isn't going to be a wham, bam, thank you ma'am affair. The World Government's going to make sure that when Whitebeard comes, he stays for breakfast.

And that's why I think WG would want to use the same method as Enies Lobby, but in this case with the Shichibukai and a few top WG officials doing the guarding. Like I said the Shichibukai has their notoriety to uphold, it will mean nothing if they can't be used by WG for a long time and is busy chasing WB and his crew. Plus, the chance of another yonkou or a strong crew aiding WB is something that will increase the longer the war continues because its a huge opening for others to take down the WG if the capable Shichibukai are busy for that long (especially for Dragon).

The WG would want to take down WB quick and fast in one trap because their resources are gonna get consumed if the war drags on

Rayleigh said that it can't be answered since it is the "people living in it right now" who are the only ones capable of creating the New Pirate Age. It's clearly different from what you've said: "the future of the OP world is on the shoulders of the new guys." You're trying to imply that the new guys will replace the old guys soon by using this passage. But Rayleigh is only talking about the New Pirate Age, the Pirate Age which started after Roger uttered his final words. And this New Pirate Age started 20 years ago. Rayleigh is not talking about an era of new guys.

You're assuming the war is just WB vs. WG when its All pirates vs. the Government.

The Goal of the WG isn't to topple just WB. Its to end the Pirate Age with this war. Taking down the current head pirate is just the first step in a huge chain of events and series of battles that will likely engulf the remainder of the series.

Health/Age don't really mean flap, in the Yellow data book its stated that Whitebeard's "ability and spirit, has never deteoriated."

If my thoughts had their own arc they would put Enies Lobby and the Davy Back Fight to shame. Supa Heroes escaping from Impel Down, CP9 becomes the Power Rangers, Wapol starts creating war machines, Krieg come back as a Pacifista experiment, 7th Warlord is a chick and a real black guy joins the crew and makes it the Monster Quad. Yeah and that would all happen in one arc

Edit: I almost forgot! Gear 4 uses haki beams.

Shanks knows of Whitebeard Tho Battles, not as friends. I'm pretty sure even the other Yonkou and the Royal Shichibukai know of Whitebeards condition, How in the world is Whitebeard going to hide his Age? its not like The Whitebeard really cares who knows about his condition. Rockstar was not even surprised at Whitebeard's conditions and he's a new Booty to the Red Haired Pirates. I'm not against to what you're saying -that WB will fall. I'm against to the "new guys will replace old guys" thing you've mentioned. Who knows, it might be old guys who will replace WB. You seem to be saying it is the SH or other supernovas who will replace WB.

But the Shichibukai aren't 100% loyal to the government so i think some may rebel~like Hawkeye. Whitebeard is currently fighting Shanks, so its possiblr that he might help Whitebeard in the battle. I dont their will be a victor in their fight (Shanks and Whitebeard).

Whitebeard will emerge victorious. Remember Ace saying he will make Whitebeard the King? This war will crown the new Pirate King. Although this might not be true for long since afterwards the other Yonkou will move as well to unseat Whitebeard, not to mention the government doing all they can to undo the damage.

WB shall take on 2 of those guys and marco probably another one...and maybe the captain of the 3rd division will be able to hold another for some time.

This is interesting speculation, but highly doubtful in my opinion.
The mere fact that BB mentions his plans to become the pirate king involves him becoming a shichibukai and the coincidental announcement to bring whitebeard out for a direct war after BB becomes a shichibukai is a definite indicator that the WG (MHQ & Shichibukai) believe they have the upper-hand.

Also, there is nothing to gain from WB being victorious from this war. The build-up indicates that he should lose. But, we don't know for sure until Oda reveals :p

Whitebeard has to die for Blackbeard to be anywhere close to being the Pirate King.

So, the obvious thing that WOULD happen is Whitebeard dieing is INEVITABLE. Unless Oda pulls something out of his sleeves (like he always does), then the conclusion to the war (if we even get to see it) would put Blackbeard emerging as the biggest winner, with the World Government maintaining the status quo but gaining a Pirate King in the end.

Would it be possible for Blackbeard to wipe out the marines after he kill Whitebeard?
