There was some gum being handed out for free at lunch today, so I took a piece. I really don't see the appeal. The taste wears out in five minutes, unless you keep adding more pieces at which point it's more like you're chewing a giant soggy sock. I just can't see it.

Finally. Finally my Pokémon White arrived. I bought it over two weeks ago from an online store, which promised it'll post it within 5-10 days. I waited and waited and waited, but the game just didn't appear. I contacted the store last week, after having ran out of patience, and they told me they didn't have any copies left and they had to wait until the next shipment from Germany would come to rescue. Apparently, the shipment came in yesterday and they mailed me my game right away. So, now I'm a happy owner of a brand new White version.
In other news: it's the eight anniversary of the day when my adopted little sister and the rest of my family were united. Had a tasty feast earlier and we're supposedly going to do something special later today. I just hope I can finish doing my homework in time.

I'm at school right now and still have two and a half hours before my next class. Thing is I forgot the book I was going to read.
I just saw something on the news which greatly annoyed me.
The news once again broadcast a warning about "how never to pay for your ordered items in advance to avoid fraud".
90 % of people in this country follow that crede. Meaning that they will gladly order something from your account, making you have to pay for that order, but then going in and saying how they want to hand you the money over on delivery.
IF I am to get it to these idiots from another country, I won't be buying them in advance or paying it in advance when not once but many times in the past someone made an order and never took over their order.
Yeah, I'm very annoyed right now.

Rawrghhh. My friend and I have been trying to do some research for a project all morning, with absolutely no results. We've been looking for information on psycholinguistic variables in relation to the German language, but all the articles that come up are either irrelevant or not available to us - which doesn't make much sense, since we're using the school website and the articles that come up SHOULD be in library holdings. I've tried Google Books/Scholar and other search engines as well, to no avail. It's frustrating and unproductive and bleghhhh.
We both don't mind committing time and doing the work, but I have no idea how we're going to make any progress or headway in this state. Our last resort would be to write a bunch of eloquent rubbish and guess our way through the report - which isn't exactly feasible, because neither of us know German, and we're not knowledgeable enough about the topic to make 'educated guesses' reliably. -sigh-
In other news, my wireless is still working intermittently; it comes in spurts of maximum two minutes, before disappearing for no apparent reason and refusing to come back on. My dad tinkered around with stuff last night so it worked at home, but this morning in school it suddenly went off. I went to the computer centre to get it looked at, and it suddenly started working. I brought it back to the school cafeteria, and it stopped. The technician ordered a new wireless card for me, just in case that's the problem. It'll only come in two weeks, though. I'm just praying that it will work at home, otherwise my dad will probably move the router out of his room so that I can connect to it directly from the living room.

Just came to a realization. I'm going to badly fail my Calculus II test tomorrow, and If I don't actually step it up, I could do badly in the class. I'm hoping to get at least a 'C'.
I'm freaking out. I've got a paper on gun control due Thursday and I am having difficulty finding sources. I'm supposed to argue that gun control is good, but all these statistics I'm finding seem to support that it's better to have guns. I need 5 sources that are actually reliable. Most of the websites that are coming up are just stating things without reference and there doesn't seem to be enough for a works cited to be credible. agh why do I have this topic?!
And I'm probably gonna fail my finals at this rate.

WHY am I still up? It's freaking FOUR AM. And I've had trouble getting to sleep all week. I blame Daylight Savings time, always screws me up for weeks at a time. Once it gets to the weekend at least I can just sleep in till I'm rested, but I have work and have to get up in… 3 hours.
At this rate I might be downright sleep deprived and insane by Friday.

I'm having the same issue, but I've also been unusually stressed from constantly getting rejections in job hunting. But every time I lay back and close my eyes I just end up opening them again every 5 minutes to look at my watch.
I love love love my dad. He got some kind of extension thing for the router, so that I have a wire from my study table in the hall that can directly connect to the Internet. I'm not too sure how it works but basically, I have wireless again~! At least, at home. I can't bring my laptop to random places in the house (like my bed), and it still doesn't work in school, but I can totally live with this.
Also, my lecturer uploaded the grades for our midterms today. It's the module which I've been struggling the most with for the entire semester, and I was really, really nervous and freaked out before the test. Somehow, by some divine hand, I managed to score above the mean, which is ~23/30 (which is actually pretty good). Wheeww. The teacher marked leniently so it might not be that good a gauge of my knowledge but it's 30% that I don't have to worry so much about so I'm just really grateful.

I talked with my teacher today and she said my task is not to write the articles for the paper but to collect them from other people, proofread etc. But there's a big problem… Nobody gives a thing for the school-paper, it would be hard enough to make articles that interest them but to make other people write the articles? Woah... so I'm in a big trouble now. I already have my "right hand" who will help me, but still, what should I edit when there's literally no material? Only thing I know that the latest "releases" failed horribly(though I bought and liked them, but that's probably just me).
Now I don't even have an idea why the teacher has chosen me. Well, I should probably feel honoured(as I do, really), but I'm curious...
Hm... I have an idea. What if only my friend and I make the whole paper(write the articles, edit etc.)? I know it's hard and time-consuming, but honestly, I'd gladly do it. Besides, this "paper" isn't even that big. Though of course, I'd still collect articles from people who made some.
