I don't think Boa will fall for Ace, if she would met him like he was in the Alabasta-Arc it would been possible. But in his actual condition he will just be a wimp for her, who has been captured by an Pirate that didn't ever have a bounty on his head and was once his subordinate.
The next new Nakama? Part 2

Zik if you seriously think Silk will be a nakama then you sir have problems, now stfu and let people with brains talk.
Funny from a troll who doesn't contribute. She's still a better candidate than the crap being grossly suggested in here. So GTFOHYDMF

I'm not sure if I want 2 understand that…^^
I think AceXHancock would be great, but faren is right, Boa needs some1 strong...
and if Ace wants 2 die, I don't think he would be interested in a relationship...
he has just disappointed his hero and if I was Ace I'd probably also give up my job as leader of whitebeard's 2nd division or whatever because I would be so ashamed...
but I feel really sorry 4 Ace, he was 1 of my favourite characters...:((( -
maybe Hancock will became WB 4th division leader as a reward on saving Ace
also if she fell in love with Ace she will be close to him and kuja will be protected by WB -

also if she fell in love with Ace she will be close to him and kuja will be protected by WBHow is that a reward for her? She's already a shichi, princess, empress, captain of her own pirate crew, etc.
Also I thought this would be nakama for the SHs? WB getting more strong ppl on his side is just too much unless he's gonna end up being the villain.
-
On a lighter note, I kind of want to see Hancock interact with Ace at least once to see if she'd fall for him, since I remember everyone basking in awe at Ace's sheer aura of cool way back in Alabasta. That does sound like something Oda would do too.
I don't think the reason why Boa fell for Luffy was because of how cool he was.

Of course it was. She thought he was soo cool in the arena when he tried to protect his new friends AND enemies that she fell heads over heels in love with him.

Zik, Silk would make a half-decent nakama… but the implications of this would destroy me. It'd mean a total break of the manga-canon, since she shows up in the pilot, and not the real manga, and that was before they even had Sunny, and... @__@ it would kill my brain. But she would make a nice nakama, if she were in the manga. <3
-
Why do so many people want Hancock to fall for Ace?
-
I just threw that out there after recalling how everyone thought that Ace was so cool and awesome and a great guy when they first met him. Not saying it's going to happen, but I wouldn't be surprised and I'd find it funny as hell.
There's also the added bonus of not being as creepy with the whole age-difference thing.
-
Heso!
I don't think that the whole age difference is creepy. I mean some people want Robin with Zoro and she is in her late twenties and he is in his late teens. So if Hancock is only slightly older than Robin and Luffy is slightly younger than Zoro then it should not be a problem. Anyway love is a funny thing it can happen to anyone at any age.

Well first the animated special had a whole lot of changes to it lol. Sunny, the crew, etc. were all not in the pilot especially how things went in the ep was different from the pilot. I guess it was just changed so it could be a special and not for ppl to think Oda was making a new anime called Romance Dawn.
I just posted the link for ppl to see an animated version of her. I happen to prefer the pilot although the ep showcases other things…......
All I'm saying though is just how the special was different from the pilot in some ways Oda could just retcon her origin to somewhere in the GL or NW. Then tweak her character another way to make her unique(since ppl still think she's the same as Nami although in the pilot she's clearly different). This is no different from when ppl suggest new ideas for a nakama, the only difference is I have a template.
Besides I grow tired of the same lame characters imo being thrown out there for nakama candidates so I suggest new and different possibilities.

Heso!
Slightly off topic. I wanted to know if there was any other way to see the Romance Dawn episode other than the streamed way. I tried to use that browser but it did not work for me.
I saw a picture of a girl with blonde hair is that Silk. If so then she is rather neat looking.

Yeah it's Silk and you can go to the Anime section to get a download link to the special, it's in the Romance Dawn Special thread(or a title close to that). It should still be on the first page.

they need a fisherman
yeah, you heard it right
-
yeah, i totally agree, boa hancock loving luffy is even creepier than brooke at 88? lusting for women in their teens.
-
It's really popular in asian countries right now for a young male to get together with an older female.
It's like a sign of power, lol.
Anyways how I see it, non-existant characters logically have a 0% chance of joining because they are non-existant. Can we argue around the characters that ACTUALLY have a chance?
Hancock, if shes not with Luffy she will die. How can anyone explain that? I'm pretty sure she can't fall in love again, and redo it. Unless Oda thinks up some great twist where Luffy says something romantic like 'I'll be back' and Hancock ends up waiting forever. P.C: 30%
Perona's second apperance was foreshadowed, and you could even say the fact that she was hiding in the sunny was a foreshadow of her joining the crew. She didn't kill Zoro, instead she helped an enemy, like why? Percent chance of jioning I'd say is about 25%

But but but….what about her personality? She's a confirmed abandoner of her last crew! She abandoned them to save herself at the first sign of danger! That's not Strawhat-like behavior!

Strangely, far away on another island she still wants Moria. Her personality jsut makes her like that, sort of like how Ussop's personality makes him like he is. It doesn't mean they can't be faithful.

Towards this topic in general, here's some food for thought:
Nyon made a point of pointing out (…) that she went through this same predicament in the past. Let's look at the present now. She's certainly not with whoever the person she fell in love with, isn't passing out in a sweaty heap whenever the subject comes up, and, most importantly of all, is still alive.
Chew on that for a bit.

@Duuffie: That last paragraph should be deleted due to forum policy.

Yeah, but before joining the crew Robin saved Luffy's life, still as an enemy. Perona tried to kill the crew. I recall in her almost-yet-interrupted-due-to-Kuma fight with Nami. She talks down to her, and in the same breath mocks her fallen ally Absolom. She was eager to kill Nami, and showed a complete disloyalty to her crew. She lived with them for several years after all, and regardless she had no loyalty to them.
No, it's not quite the same thing. Each of the potential SHs had some redeeming characteristics before joining the crew. Nami hit kids, but she did it to save them from Arlong! Robin was on the "bad team," but in hindsight she didn't kill anyone. Not to mention her betrayal in Enies Lobby was shown as a means for her to help her crew–a self sacrifice. We cannot compare Perona's actions with Nami and Robin's! There's were actions clearly guided by good intentions under stress. Perona has no excuse, and frankly acted like a dick just for the sake of being a dick.
Perona has been tested several times and failed. If she joined the crew and met a strong enemy, why wouldn't she break down crying like she did with Ussop? I honestly can't see her doing the same these the SHs do, as characters, when challenged. Perona's a true non-Usoppy coward, and selfish to the point she puts herself before everything. Plus, her fighting ability has no potential, it's been completely fleshed out.
So, basically I don't think Perona should even be considered a candidate. The changes in personality needed would require shock therapy. Honestly, can you imagine her, bloodied and beaten, fighting for the sake of others?
Now Hancock...I don't think is going to join either. But I can't deny that the chance is there.
One more thing!
The fact that she was abandoning her crew was the foreshadow.
Strangely, far away on another island she still wants Moria. How does abandoning a crew you chose to join and lived with for years make you a good candidate for a SH? She never said anything about hating them, and they never abused her. Moria gave her all the stuff doll zombies she wanted and she still left them first sign of danger. What an ingrate!
Okay I'm done.
