Where the hell did the potter talk come from?
The "Who/what/where is this?" thread
-
-
Kaimei enjoys spoilering Harry Potter for me since I'm not finished with the series.
-
That's just not nice, Kaimei
-
Don't know if this is the right thread for this, but here goes.
Since me and some people have heard differently, does Urouge hail from Skypiea or a floating island not unlike Skypiea?
-
We aren't sure if it's Skypiea exactly, just that he comes from a Sky Island. If Sky Island is just another name for Skypiea then yeah.
-
There are more than one sky islands, as said in the Mock town arc…/ early Skypeia arc, so it COULD be skypeia.

Anyone know what that skull symbol thing on the bottom left is supposed to represent?:

The scanlator group "NBST", you can tell by the letters surrounding it and comparing it to the text "scanlated by NBST" just above the last panel.

Does anybody know where in the MANGA (not an SBS, I want the manga only) the three classifications of Devil Fruits are mentioned, and where it was mentioned how they're classified? I know all three had been mentioned by volume 30, and in the volume 35 SBS, Oda explained how they're classified, but I think he did it in the manga too, but I can't find where on my own.
I know that Zoan were first mentioned by name when Dalton attacked Wapol in the last chapter of volume 15, and were mentioned again by Miss Merrychristmas when her team's fight with Ussop and Chopper just started, and again by Shura when he fought Gon Fall at the Sacrificial Altar.
I know Wiper called Luffy a Paramecia when they first met, right after Luffy, Sanji, and Usopp go through the Trial of Orbs, but I don't know if the term "Paramecia" is used earlier then that. And I don't know where Logia is used in the manga at all. I hope that helps a bit.
-
The question is a month and a half old, but I feel it needs to be answered.
You are correct about the first mentions of zoan and paramecia, and If I remember correctly, the first time the term logia was used was when Enel turned into Amal form, just before his defeat.

QUESTION:
Nami's dream is to draw a map of the world.
Is she doing this because this has not been done? (Meaning, has a map of the world not yet been drawn?)
Or, is she doing this so she can rightfully claim a fully drawn map as her own? (Meaning, a map of the world exists, she just wants one named after herself.)
-
I think because she want to be able to claim it.
-
That's one of the things I dislike about the series, that matter have been completely ignored, in fact, we have only seen Nami drawing a map during her childhood days.
However, the anime guys decided to dedicate one of those pos-Arabasta filler episodes to that.

Well, I don't think watching someone draw a map is all that exciting. Also, the ending theme with Robin gazing at the skies shows Nami near her mapping equipment.
And that filler, you're talking about the one with the salesman, right? Thanks to a certain someone, I think of the 'Cilic Bang' song whenever I see him.
Limescale, rust, ground-in dirt….

While we're at it we don't see anybody take a dump. I mean Luffy's constantly asking everyone about it, but we never see it in action. ;P
-
You can't compare taking a dump with one of the main characters' dream, which is supposely the most important thing for said character.
Take Chopper for example, we don't actually see him studying to be a better doctor but we can see that he's interested in his dream, asking Nami for money to buy medicine books, going to a Water 7's bookshop to look for books like that, being happy when he knew they were going to meet Hogback…
Nami's cartography skills, as I said, haven't been used nor mentioned outside of the Arlong arc. -
Lol, of course I know that. My main point is that in One Piece there's usually pretty much stuff packed in a chapter that some things simply don't get included. Chopper asking for books and everything is after all a part of his role as a doctor on the ship, while Nami drawing her own maps of the places she's visited isn't really necessary for the present situations the Strawhat's are confronted with. Thus it happens but it's not shown on screen. If at some point maps and the like will be part of the plot, then I'm sure what she's drawn so far will get pointed out.

dunno if this belongs here but what episode or movie did this come from?

i found it in this thread

I know the life-size Merry was in Odaiba harbor in around… 2005, but I had no luck locating it last summer. Is it possible they would have dismantled it? (some work for the real life Franky Families out there)
-
Wait, wut?
There's a really Merry out there? OH SHI- -
If I find it, I'm so sitting on the ram head!
(That sounds SO wrong! Perverted mind! That I have!)
EDIT: Is Merry a ram, a goat, or a sheep!?
-
I have a question, too:
Is Saldeath a monkey, a fishman, a porcupine or just a normal human?
-
Pretty early to ask, since we don't know much about him. However if that monkey statement confuses you, it's simply because his name reads as "I'm a monkey" in Japanese. It's a gag that get's lost in translation. It's a misinterpretation from Luffy's side.
-
-
EDIT: Is Merry a ram, a goat, or a sheep!?
Well, rams are just uncastrated (typically horned) male sheep… so...
I'd say ram. Goats tend to have those little beards.
(That's the boat. Kaya's caretaker is probably human) -

-
This might not be the best place to ask this but does anyone know here i can find Oda's pre-One Piece one shot Monsters?
-
You can check it out here.
-
Oh… Well that would have been a lot easier to find if i knew what they were actually calling it. Oh well.
Thanks a bunch.
-
since we meet mr 1, 2 and 3, we'll meet mr 0 at the bottom of prisoner??? Crocodile ???
-
I'm affraid I don't really understand your question?
-
We have already seen Crocodile in Impeldown. Not his whole body, but we have seen enough to understand that it is him.
!
-
I dont know if this has been discussed before anot and i dont know if this is the right thread to post, but since we know that ace took the name portgas from his mother, and luffy's mother is most probably Dadan. We can assume that their mother's full name is Portgas D. Dadan? or maby without the D. , but it sounds weird without the D, portgas dadan??? yea sounds weird.
-
So what exactly is your question?
-
So what episode/movie/ova/whatever was this from?
!

Where can I find the latest official character popularity contest?
Thanks in advance
-
I forget, was Luffy's real mother ever mentioned in the manga before?
and if so, what's her name?
I've been reading from the end of Amazon Lily to halfway through Impel down and I still can't find anything

No, Luffy's mother has never been mentioned.

http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/155/17/some of them were in jail because of the alabasta arc

Which episode is this from?
!

Which episode is this from?
That's from episode 316. It's when Shanks tells Newgate that Teach intentionally didn't take the rank of a Commander.
-
Oh cool, thanks!

Is there any relevance to the chopsticks in the mouth/nose dance? Like Luffy and Chopper always do it but is there any reason behind it?

Generally it is something just done for fun. It might have a deeper meaning to Chopper though since he's constantly using those chopsticks in this situations. Most probably because that they were part of his first party interaction which is why it became his trademark now (just my interpretation of things). But other than that, there is no deeper meaning to it as far as I'm familiar with it.

Yu Yu Hakusho did it too though. Maybe it's just a common joke or something in Japanese culture?

Guys, I'm looking for a thread from about a year ago. It was about naming the best quote from every single chapter. I think it went up to chapter 500-something before it was closed. I've tried searching for it, but I can't find it.
