Captain Yorke, eh?
And his brave crew, the Radiohead – erm, I mean Rumba -- pirates.
(sorry, I just had to get that out of my system, since I've been listening to "Ok Computer" all morning ...)
@Kaizoku-Syn:
Considering its a fresh perspective of pirates in the Grandline and not all of them are like the Strawhats some just fail in there dreams which make the goals of others even seem more impossible but you cheer them on.
I agree completely. Seeing other well-intentioned and friendly crews fail makes us appreciate how hard it is to actually succeed – that good intentions and kind hearts aren't enough to survive out there, and to realize that the Mugiwara won't have an easy route ahead.
In the scene where we see the crewmate's skull with the spear through it, I got to thinking about the ship that fell from the sky -- the one that Luffy and crew wandered around in, and that Masira eventually salvaged. We saw similar scenes there too: skeletons with weapons in them, signs of fighting etc. I wonder if there's any relation between the two, or if its just a coincidence.
And we find out another thing in which Brooke isn't really swordsman but rather a fencer which is actually enlightning and ending the debate in whos the better swordsman.
Yes, as I've been saying all along: it's a different kind of swordsmanship, so there's no redundancy in having two swordsmen on the ship.
@CLERICSHADOW:
Dammit…I really REALLY didn't want Brooke to join...but now this flash back has actually made me love the guy... I want Brooke to join the crew now after everything I've said about him not, this flashback has changed my mind..dam you Oda you've done it again..
Does this mean Zephos doesn't get to see you sniff a dog's butt?
@Hiso:
Chopper thought he couldn't live together with humans because he's a "monster", too… but he is able to walk trough cities without freaking someone out because everyone thinks he's some kind of pet.
It's the Grandline after all and the Strawhats are about to enter the part with the "tough guys". I believe most of them will just say "Oh, a Devil Fruit-User!" when they see Brooke.
That's true – as they move deeper and deeper into the Grand Line, people's appearances get freakier and freakier, so Brook probably won't stick out at all. It's only when they come full circle: back to the less wild parts of Grand Line that they've already been to -- that he'll need to worry about frightening the local populations...
And now that we know that the crew splitted in two parts… if I recall it right, Crocus said that he heard news that the Rumba Pirates left the Grandline. What if that was the infected part of the crew?
That seems like a likely explanation to me too. Either that or "leaving the Grand Line" was because they got up to Skypiea, but never came down again.
Great chapter!
