The only thing I was trying to listen for during the last part of this episode was the English "We Are". And for a so called "rushed version" was NICE. Very Nice.
Oh yeah, look at that, they used the term "Sea King".

Wow, that was a good one. No complaints, felt like I was watching it for the first time again. ^_^ delivery was off here and there, but I really enjoyed this episode.
As for "We Are" I rather liked what little I could hear. The singing was a good even if the lyrics were inaccurate. They'll have a more accurate version on the DVDs and I don't think we'll be hearing "We Are" again anytime soon. So it honestly didn't make a difference to me.
Sorry to be so upbeat when everyone's getting ready to complain, I'll go away now. :P

For one thing, 4Kids' version wasn't exactly "We Are." It was just a song they made lyrics for to match with the pace of the song.
The rush done by FUNi is still "We Are" only sung in English.

It was an okay episode.
Only parts that I really liked were Zoro and Luffy excited about their bounties and Blackbeard stuff. -

I called off work because I overslept and was like COOOL now I get to finish up other crap I'm working on and kick back and watch Naruto and OP at night. Just as the episode was ending my satellite dish starts going all wonky and literally as the second episode of Naruto shows the Viz logo and just as OP is about to start the crappy weather and I guess snow clouds completely knock out my reception!!!!
This is the first time I haven't seen or DVR'ed an episode on Funi's OP so now I'm just hoping someone gets it up ASAP And the dl goes like lightning!!

Nice episode! ^_^ Everything was pretty good all around, and I could barely make We Are, so the lyrics didn't really matter to me. Just that they tried to do everything as close to original as possible. This time, it's the thought that counts, and I am truly thankful. Thank Funi. I whole-heartedly support you and your endevers to bring us this masterpiece of an anime. Sadly, Toei has different feelings appearently. Fillers suck.

Yep, We Are sucked balls. But I forgive them as long as they do a new one for DVD releases. It didn't even follow the lyrics, cause I don't recall "Luffy, he's gonna be the next pirate king!" in the original lyrics, and I know that "We are on the Chase!" wasn't, cause the original part of the song was in English, "We are on the Cruise!".
Other than that, can't say much. This episode wasn't really anything, but that wasn't FUNi's fault, this episode was boring to begin with. I also didn't get to hear the first half of the episode cause my Mom was running the garbage disposal, talking to me, and god knows what else.
I give this episode 2 stars out of 4.

Well, thanks to ChibiGoku I listened to the song again, and I just don't see people's problem. From what I could make out, yes they changed a number of lyrics, but a lot of it was either unchanged or pretty similar. Plus, Jerry Jewel has a very nice voice. Seriously, calm down. >_>

Great Episode. Everyone sounded great, great script and lines, I'm starting to get used to Chopper too.
As for We Are, I was only annoyed that I couldn't hear it clearly. Music (instrument and vocal tone) wise though, it SOUNDED a lot better to me with a tempo that was slightly more upbeat and smooth flow.
I'm waiting for Chibigoku's encoding to watch that part again to get a final verdict (but hearing a version that's not overrun with dialog would be nice to actually hear the lyrics.

I can't watch the episode yet because I'm at work, but I just wanted to throw in that I always thought the "4kids version of We Are", which really wasn't much other than a random promo they made, sounded really lame and I never understood why people wanted to hear it at all.
So if you don't like Funi's version, at least they already said ahead of time that it was rushed and they're making a new version for the DVD. It is a damn hard song to put in English, it already sounds campy. "poketto no coin, soretta you wanna be my friend, we are, we are on the cruuuuuuuise!" It's rough working with deep lyrics like this. -

! I heard that they used the term Sea King. I think they should pick one to avoid being inconsistent. I know they're trying to sneak things in,but they're going to confuse a hell of a lot of people if they keep using different terms. Anyway, the We Are! sounded good, but not as good as the other dubbed songs. Maybe part of it was that I could hardly hear it, but I could hear some of the lyrics (like "We are! We are on the… something, but it wasn't cruise). I know that it was rushed and it will almost certainly be better on the DVDs so don't attack me . All in all great episode and can't wait until next week . ON TO SKYPIEA! -
