Netero vs. Chimera King
You think he's going to go fast paced to get to the battles? There are lot of people in this operation, so I hope we get to the four main battles soon.

Ah.. snap.
Well, at least now I won't hear fag bitching about losing hope.
But, a year is enough to draw some good chapters right? Right? At least 3 vols! And now it says he's recovered too.
EDIT:
Weeeell DeadJustice, Togashi really put himself into a tight spot making the King incomparable to even Netero, so you can somehow expect a big thing happen that will whip a huge chuck of stuff and make things a LOT more high paced.
well the run ended last page with all of them about to run off it kick ass and chew bubblegum and if his pace stays like it was for the 1st half of that arc the fighting should break out soon
Yea, last chapter was the perfect stopping point. All of their final reflections before commencing the operation.
So yea, should be starting up pretty fast from the get go.
I just hope mah boy smokes doesn't kick the bucket. Said he was at 30% of his actual strength. Not Asuma foreshadowing level, but damn near.
hell
Netero vs. King
Morau (WOO), Knuckle (WOO), Killua, Gon, Shoot vs. Royal Guards

ha HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
@Cap'n:
ha HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
…..That's really......really gay.
I hope it at least gets us through the ant arc.
Huh.
I like Hunter (I like it A LOT), and honestly hope that this "announcement" has substance to it, but this feels too much like deja vu, and am strapping down to be very disappointed. Still, horray for hope.
So wait, he was actually working during this break? Guess he had to do something during loading times. Just hope that we get good material out of it.

Lapen:
It should be 100% true at least. So no need for hope!
It all depends on how much he did. If he did a good 30-40 chapters, great. But if he did like 5-10 and then takes another 2 year break….....
546 Days… That's too long..
I really want to see Togashi come back with a few average chapters than just blow-your-mind action chapters that truly displays his talent.
"Though, Jump will just publish whatever the chapters Togashi has prepared, then once they're all out, he'll take break again to draw some more."
I just hope he drew enough to get through this junk arc. It was like reading a bizarro HxH version of the Cell saga. Ugh.
I don't see what was wrong with the ant arc personally. I liked it better than the battle tower arc.

Given 52 chapters come out on a healthy manga year, if he did less than 25-30 I won't know what to think. 3 vols more should somehow finish this arc + more.
I really don't get why people hate this arc though. All I see is a stubborn person trying to force others to think like he did the few chapters it started. I mean yeah, the start sucked, a LOT, but it became this much better. I don't remember so much about Cell but I know enough to say it's not the same at all.
I hope that after this arc theres just a finishing arc, or Ging finishes the King with the aid of Killua and Silva and Gon. Then something with the Spiders. This series could go for anothrt 15 voluems or so, theres not much left to do.
Chimera Ant arc and Yorkshin arc are my favorites.
I think the new characters are probably why I like the Chimera Ant arc so much.
I've really gotta catch up by then! I stopped reading in the middle of Greed Island. But, this great news is giving me the urge to start again.
"Though, Jump will just publish whatever the chapters Togashi has prepared, then once they're all out, he'll take break again to draw some more."
Shit.
So I'm betting we're going to get one big chunk of chapters. An eighteen month break, then another big chunk. If other Manga-ka start to do the same I'm going to eat someone.
okay guys
Predictions for volume 25?
Mine are…
Gon and crew meets up with that Cat lady who is also with Kite
A fight ensues
A lot of fighting, but Gon and crew start to beat the Cat Lady. Then at the last moment the Shark dude and butterfly dude come in, kill maybe Morau or Knuckle and really kick the shit out of the main characters, followed by slicing off the cat lady's head for being so weak.
In the last chapter that old geezer confronts the Chimera Ant King, and is suprised at how much his power has grown.
This might merge over to volume 26 too, but this is my view of wahts gonna happen.

Thank god they don't care about what you think.
Thank god.
@Rai:

Well, something like that is going to have to happen sooner or later, he's gotta stop beating around the bush.
You sure? I'd never imagine something as absurd as the division commanders cutting Nef's head off.

If she can't beat two kids, an octopus, a punk and a guy smoking a huge pipe? The Chimera Ant King killed his own mom and a few Ants, these guys are ruthless, and I could easily see that happening.
Don't bring those narudo generalizations over here.
Gon and Killua are the two I'm worried about the least.
@Rai:
I don't remember so much about Cell but I know enough to say it's not the same at all.
Well i'm not saying its a carbon copy, but it did have its share of similarities, with the whole unstopable bug-like guy who destroys cities(cell did destroy a few of them if my memory serves me right, or maybe that was Boo?) and spawns lots of minions. Anyway I'm not a fan of this arc but that doesn't mean i hate it or anything, since I'm more pissed at the fact that the series is currently in a serious drought of Leorio and Kurapica. D:
Some of the fights were kickass though.

Who said she can't beat them? WHO?
Also, calling the team in the names you called them, that's a stupid thing to do. They're fucking darn strong.
But anyway, say she's beaten by them.
What makes you think the DC are stronger?..
btw, I left him on purpose, but did you people really forget Perfect Plan?
EDIT:
Bob:
That's not what I'm talking about. Of course there are a little similiarities, as you said, 'an insect suddenly pops out and screws stuff around', yeah, but seriously now, I'm deeply surprised someone can say with a straight face that a series should be 100% authentic. C'mon, look at the sentence I just wrote and say to me that the arc wasn't enjoyable and touching as other arcs. Sure, it's not better than GI or York Shin, but god help me if it's not better than 99% of arcs out there.
I know I'm digging this, but I'm also saying this to many other people I saw who label the arc as a bad one.
Knuckle is clearly designed over that.. y'know.. uh.. the one from Jojo's part 4. Does that mean you should hate him?
York >> NGL > GI > Hunter Exam > Battle Tower
NGL was awesome for the new additions to the cast, the sheer brutality of the chimera ant king, Gon and Killua being amazing badasses and the CA King feels like Cell done right and not a cheap Cell clone at least to me (you know actually ruthless and bloodthristy and awesome)
Just heard the awesome news. I was willing to give up all other manga for the return of this series. My fave is back. Can't wait to see Hisoka and the Ryodan in action again. And Ryodan Arc is my most fave arc of all time. I'd say Battle Tower, and GI were my faves afterwards.
Awesome news! I really can't wait to be able to read HxH again, I actually haven't read the Chimera Ant arc yet, because I wasn't sure if it would continue, but now I'm happy to hear that it's continuing.
I bet he just puts up 2 new chapters and then rolls back into bed to continue grinding mandragoras in FFXI

I didn't think of it that much before, but now I can officially say I definitely can't decide. ><
Oh screw it. :\
btw, I just remembered something that was disturbing me for a while now.
Is Nef plain stupid or is Machi apparently much much stronger than her?
Nef took like an hour to completely heal one arm while not being able to use any other abilities/basics while Machi flipped her ass in seconds and did whatever she wanted while the arm healed.
Anyone think it'll take the Jump cover the week it comes out?
Most likely.
HUNTER X HUNTER IS BACK FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 5 YEARS
This is my favorite manga, but One Piece took its place after Togashi stopped for like 2 years.
I'm quitting reading his manga if he produces like 4 chapters that do jackshit to the plot, and then stops for another 2 years.
I bet he just puts up 2 new chapters and then rolls back into bed to continue grinding mandragoras in FFXI
don't forget the half assed art quality part

I actually named my cell with the tan skin in super dbz "King".

Greed Island > Ant > Hunter exam > York Shin > Battle tower
I don't see why the ryodan get so much praise. I can't imagine them being the reason I like the series, and don't want them hogging the screen anytime soon.
There are some cool members, yes, but they are by no means God's gift to manga villains. Just don't get the hype.

Having not read HxH, from what I've seen they seem an awfully lot like Akatsuki: a team fighting loyaly for a mysterious leader and obsessed with the eyes of a powerful clan. (just replace Sasuke with Kurapika) But some of their Nen abilities do seem weird and cool. (come on: one of them has a super-powerful vacuum cleaner)

I see your point, but never associate HXH with Naruto. For shame.
not really obsessed with the eyes. and the clan wasnt that powerful. (it was more an exotic ability to turn the eyes colour when angry). The "scarlet eyes" sold for lot of money. and when they were done with that job they didnt think much more of it.
ryodan is a lot less mysterious then akatsuki imo. (and the leader puts the group before himself which is kinda rare)
what im saying is that to me atleast they are very different and id take the ryodan over akatsuki anyday.

I agree. To me, most of the Ryodan were pretty bland, both in design and personality. A couple of them were pretty awesome, but I still have yet to see why people love them so much.

Well I didn't say it was exactly the same. I did read that the Ryodan wanted the clan's eyes for cash but I thought I also read that Kurapika gains some sort of special abilities when in "red mode". (luckily it isn't as hack as the Sharingan…but these days few things are)
Kurapika is trying to avenge his family by killing the spiders.
Sasuke is trying to avenge his family by killing his brother.
Kurapika is invincible basically, but only against the spiders
Sasuke is invincible to like everything in the series
Ryodan are very unique and everything revolves around money
Akatsuki have a few unique characters, but everything revolves around capturing monsters
Ryodan members have really cool Nen abilities
Akatsuki members have a few cool Jutsus and abilities, but most is a letdown
I see your point, but Hunter X Hunter, has a way better plot, although the Ant arc was shitty in the beginning and my hopes went down, its getting much better.

This only applies to a handful of them, the others are stuck with vacuum cleaners and SUPER EXPLOSIVE PUNCHES.
Here's a list of my favorite Ryodan Nen ablities
1. Franklin - Machine gun fingers. Pure win.
2. Pakunoda - Too bad she died, but her technique for once wasn't used for battle, but more for helping her team.
3. Shalnark - Okay, he reminds me of Doflamingo's technique, and where he can do that fighting thing with himself, where he gets really strong, but then gets knocked out. Very unique
4. Nobunaga - En is awesome. Step with in 10 feet from him, and he'll slice you automatically. Cool.
5. Kuroro Lucifer - Basically the normal "Bad guy who steals techniques" person, but the book was a nice touch, and gaining the abilities and using them is quite tricky, which puts it higher up in the troupe.
6. Phinx - His attacks remind me of a "Wind-em-up" toy, I like that.
7. Machi - Its awesome that it can work as a healing technique or a deadly fighting style.
8. Hisoka - Bungee Gum and Texture Surprise really fit his clown approach, but I find them a tad boring to watch. But, they are really unique
9. Feitan - Burning things alive is always fun, but I want to see him expand a bit technique wise.
10. Uvo - He brought a whole new level to the ultra strong guy, but he IS the ultra strong guy, so he places low.
11. Korutopi - Great nen ability, but it seems too limited
12. Shizuku - Very unique, but a really boring fighting style
13 - Boneferu - A meteor and a clone, that is REALLY dull for me, and not really that original. So he places last.
I don't think they are the best villains ever or anything, but I do like the Ryodan. The only characters I like better in the series are some of the ones introduced in the Chimera Ant arc.
For some reason I never cared much for the Greed Island and Battle Tower arcs at all. Greed Island had some neat stuff, but I wasn't very impressed overall.
what abilities did Korutopi, Shizuku and Boneferu have?
which one had the dancing music summon ability?
One of my favorite scenes of the manga happened with the ryodan.
WHen Gon was arm wrestling Nobunaga and he cried over Uvo's death, Gon gto pissed because they weren't heartless bastards, but only cared about eachother and beat nobunaga.
but yea, imo if you like hunter for the ryodan, you're kinda missing the point really.
Edit: Vacuum chick is probably one of my favorite ryodan members tho. XP Don't see why her power is lame. I thought it was pretty awesome how she beat that chimera, but then realized he could have survived if he used his web to cover his wounds and told his dead body that.
but feitan I don't like at all. Hate overpowered generic looking dudes.
The problem for me is that Leorio is the only one of the four "main" characters I really like. The others don't annoy me, so that's good, but I can't say I've ever really rooted for them like I have with some of the side characters.
