Chapter 463: "Pirate Sanji Vs. Mysterious Absalom"

Same, though I admit at first glance I was surprised at his design. Then it grew on me and I realized he looked like an awesome Dragon Quest villain or something. And now that we've seen his personality more, I like him much more than guys like Croc.

I liked the way he looked since the beginning, mainly because I first thought he was going to be an Elbaf giant and I dislike them. His first appearance was a true "wow" moment, really surprising. Then all the little touches inspired from American cartoons and Franco-belgian comics whithout taking anything away from his gothic horror theme made me appreciate his design even more.

because he has never been confirmed to be a giant. judgeing by his size i dont think he is one either. that means he is whitebeard or dismantler type in his body build …

I like Elbaf giants, but the fact he wasn't one made his design all the better, since everyone was expecting that from his huge stature. Also, in addition to his looks staying very true and contributing to the horror theme of the arc, his lips give me a huge Rocky Horror vibe (which is good).

Man, I can't wait to see Moria in a fighter, and Thriller Bark as a stage. The latter could be really awesome.

Nami. Nami looks like she is shadowless or under drugs. I think shadowless is more likely.

I doubt it. Only Moria can take shadows, and he obviously has no idea what Absalom's been up to.

If I remember correctly, and I may be wrong, he was called a giant earlier in this arc. However, yes I do respect your opinion. We seem to have had some minor arguments recently. Lets stop ok…

Sanji's beating of Absalom in this chapter was just plain brutal… I don't think that Sanji's been this angry at his opponent since Wanze was insulting Robin, or Kuroobi was saying that he was going to kill Nami, the rest of the crew, and the villagers of Cocoyashi.

Not to say sanji's little scuffle with Abs wasn't great, But the whole ''IF YOU HURT A WOMAN I'M GONNA KICK YOUR ASS'' thing is starting to get really

Yeah, the chivalry stuff is pretty dumb, but the result of the chivalry tends to be someone have their asses kicked in an awesome way, so I'm able to put up with it.

Well, I just hope Sanji is the one killed in a brutal way after reaching the New World, perhaps at the hands of a woman even stronger than Luffy, if there's even a female schichibukai, wich I highly doubt. :P

PS: Moria's not a giant. Brooke just referred as him as a Giant person, not that he was from the species. Anyways, Moria's just a slightly bigger than Whitebeard, who has Giantism, and perhaps smaller than the Half-Giant of Foxy's crew.l

I think that Sanji anger is well justified more so in this case than usual. Absalom has crossed a line that should not have been crossed. He messed with Robin and what he has done with Nami is just terrible. The only thing that would have been worse is if he had violated her completely. He saw her when she was bathing and is trying to marry her without her consent. So I am completely on Sanji's side. He is protecting someone he cares about who just so happens to be a woman. I think that his protective nature toward women is one of his most enduring qualities. He likes woman and wants them but he would not hurt a woman and tries to protect them. I think in this case Sanji is acting more like a protective father type sort of in a round about way. In short I am really happy that Absalom is getting defeated.

But when Absalom captured nami, Moria was close by at the top of the stairs. It wouldn't have been much a detour to take her up there, de-shadow her, and then carry her to the tailor (by which point she was passed out.) Also, he had enough time for all of this while the mugiwara were comparing notes on the 1000 sunny.

The only question really is what manner of zombie has her shadow.

The only difference is he now has pointy teeth. Big deal. His eyes, haircut, pants, gloves, and particular legs were all the same the first time he appeared.

And silly me had tought that pillow was actually Moria resting his head on his bulky arms, but looking closer, only the teeths are slightly different, wich is not that important after all...

I totally agree with Aldric, Moria's size hasn't changed it's just the fact that his minions are dwarfs.

I Don't know why everyone is trying to nit-pick at Moria's teeth. Ever heard of an edit or adjustment anyone? maybe Oda wanted to change his teeth design.

I agree for the most part, and it's really not that big of a deal.

But the fact that so many of Moria's feature have stayed consistent throughout makes me wonder if there isn't something more going on with the teeth. His eyes are exactly the same with their patterns of bloodshot and Target store irises. The pattern of his clothing, his size relative to the munchkins… it has all been perfectly consistent.

So why only the teeth... which were an important part of the reader's first introduction to Moria?

It does give a little more credence to the alternate body theories flying around. At worst, it should be an interesting SBS explanation like the wandering door fixing carpenter in vol 1.

Or, Oda was too bussy with his life to care about the teeth, just like in very rare cases he forgets to draw Luffy's scar or Nami's tatoo, but it's his manga, let him to do as he pleases. You still understand the story, so bleh..

I think that Nami has already had her shadow taken. I remember Hogback saying to Absalom that he can't make Nami his bride because she has a bounty on her head. So I suppose they were planning to take her shadow from the beginning.

this chapter was amazing. So even after Moria is defeated the need to purify the zombies will still be there which means confronting OZ. Moria is pretty bad ass i like how every1 said he was weak and then he turns out to be pretty strong. It will be amazing to see how the luffy v moria fight will turn out.
