Between Fishman Island and Mariejoa

I've been pondering about this for a while and now I feel the need to share this: is there any islands between Fishman Island and Mariejoa?

As we know, Oda stated that Fishman Island is the halfway point of the Grand Line. Likewise, Mariejoa is located on the Red Line and is the only other entrance and exit to the Grand Line besides Reverse Mountain. Unless you have a ship lined with sea stone to cross the Calm Belts, of course.

Basically, will the Straw Hats end up going straight to Mariejoa from Fishman Island or will they come across other places inbetween them?

From what I understand, Oda hasn't made any confirmation of this yet so we won't know until it happens. I really can't wait for this to be clarified!

One other question: how do pirates from the New World cross the Red Line? I doubt they go through Mariejoa, but maybe they have a means of transversing Reverse Mountain. If only we knew!

We'll find out in time, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't any islands in between Fishman Island and the Red Line. After all, FI has been talked about for so long that it's most likely going to be a major arc, and entering the New World will probably be pretty big as well, so presumably there'll be at least one or two smaller arcs first.
There might even be a big one; if Blackbeard has handed over Ace to the WG he'll probably be in Impel Down by now (assuming he's not dead), and I'm thinking the WG will be bragging about that all over the newspapers. So, Luffy & Co exit the Furorian Triangle, get the paper, and head straight to Impel Down, 'cos I don't think Luffy would take news like that very well.

But then again, with Oda you never know, right?

We dont but I assume Ace will be more then enough.

I mean people trembled at the fact he was a corps commander of WB. Also if Rockstar had a bounty of 95 million and was a rookie, then Ace must EASILY topple that.

People say since Fishman island is underwater its also the passage across the Red Line. I like that theory.

But your right its odd that pirates can still enter the New World with the Holy land so close. Im just gonna guess that the WG and Marines have to spend most of their resources with the Yonkou and thus the occasional pirate crew can slip by.

well your absolutely right, rookie dosent refer to skill level at all. In fact Rockstar said he was quite notorious, despite WB's crew reactions.

I just mean that if Rockstar had that bounty which was really close to Luffy's at that time, Im sure that Ace would have ranked much higher.

I don't think they would get in the New World after Fishman Island. There's still more islands to explore and they have yet to face the New Pirate Age, Barthelomew Bear and one more Shichibukai. There is also an war coming so… I think after Fishman Island, they should cross 7 more islands before Mariejois and the New World.

I think that with Thriller Bark having Moria and Fishman Island presumably having Jinbei, Oda seems to be lining the Shichibukai up for Luffy to knock down. I think after Fishman Island being the next major arc, we're going to have one more major arc involving Doflamingo and Bartholomew Bear before moving past the Red Line and into the New World. Then all that will be left of the Shichibukai for the second half of the Grand Line will be the unknown member and Mihawk, and I think it's a safe assumption that Oda is saving Mihawk for the end to face Zoro.

I wouldn't mind Water 7 fillers, the arc is so lush with potential and creativity, I'm sure the writers can come up with something interesting like they did with extending the Davy Back fight (my personal fav fillers).

Well there's still Elbaf and Pirate Island, which was mentioned during the Davy Back Fight. I kind of doubt they will be going to either of them, but its possible.

I don't think that the filler should start until Franky officially joins the crew, assuming there will be any on Water 7. If there is filler on Water 7, it better be a only a couple episodes. I'm just curious on how Toei will establish Franky's character during the inevitable filler arc(s)

I was reading the English Mangas the other day and got to the part where Crocus tells them of how the Grand Line is laid out. That being how you choose a starting point and eventually they all converge. If you go back and count the dots there are like 6 unaccounted for dots. Either they have landed on a number of them and nothing story worthy happened or there is still alot to go.

So far it seems like the war is in the New World, but who knows if it's spilled over into the rest of the world? We won't find out until the Thriller Bark arc ends maybe! The "New Pirate Age" seems like something that would happen if and only if Doflamingo sets his plans in motion, so that is relative.
I do agree that it would be nice for the Straw Hats to face the remaining Shichibukai in some way, shape or form. I hope that the currently unknown Shichibukai is interesting!

7 more islands? 4 or 5 sounds about right in my opinion. Regardless of the number of intermediate islands, I would hope that they're fun and interesting places. I don't know about joekido, but I really want to see more of Mariejoa! It seems as though Enies Lobby will pale in comparison to the Holy Land.

Is it possible that fishman island and mariejoa are connected? Like, what if the way to cross the red line is to go under it through fishman island, and on top of it is mariejoa?

It just seems to me, by the way I understand the layout of the op world, that the red line has to be halfway.
