Otherwise, great chapter. I freaking loved the Heavy Nunchuck move by Franky. Sadly, the "Oda does SM Fanservice" crowd are about to come out and flame it to death for picturing Web!Robin.
Oh, and it's confirmed that the zombies do use the same moves as their humans. Brook seems to be into Iaido fights. My theory is that Oda is setting most of the Strawhats up for a "fight your twin" scenario, while the others (like Sanji) will get to take on Erosalom/Perona etc.
Being a second sword user allows me to make an even greater case against Brook for not being unique. evil laugh

Eh, Brook has a cane-sword. A bit lame, but it's a common archetype for gentlemen, so it's not too surprising.

Colourspread: SUPER AWESOME FRANKY VS LUFFY BOXING MATCH
Chapter: Nami is being chased by hogwoman until nami says something and hogwoman bows to nami and starts chasing absalom instead. Then Hildon mentions zombie #900 to perona and she goes tell Absalom. Nami , Usopp and Chopper are now hiding in Perona's "Say-nothing" bear. And later in the chapter robin and Franky own the spider, until the spider traps Robin in spider web, this is the time of the chapter where Brooke comes and slices the spider up with his cane (which had a sword inside of it!)

Because Brooke happens to use a sword… does he not join?
I am 100% for Brooke joining the party, but the fact that he has a sword might be against him. I'm not saying its uncool to have 2 swordsmen its just that when ever Luffy talks about how everyone has their place, "Zoro is the swordsman" so ...

BF, you never cease to amaze me. This is probably the earliest I've ever seen the chapter released! Thanks in advanced…but you do realize that since this is the Golden Week issue, the wait for the next chapter is now that much longer...
Where to start this time: oh yeah, Brooke's awesome ending slashing Taleran, that's a good point! Who knew skeleton-man had it in him! Also like the massive pillars Franky used as nunchucks and how Nami...convinced Lola she was a man. (though I hope she really isn't "Namizou"...I'm too used to her as a woman!) Didn't expect her and the other Scooby's, though, hiding in one of Perona's bears

Brooke is the musician. He has his own role. Besides, his fighting style is completely different from Zoro's.

The fight with Talleran and the spider zombies, plus the discovery of Brook's power… Holy poop, he has the same skills as Ryuuma!

Poop.It's a different kind of swordsmanship than Zoro's, so it's not necessarily redundant.
Franky fights with his fists and so does Luffy, but Franky still joined.

Here's another thought that crossed my mind: if Brook is an awesome swordsman to begin with and Ryuma was an awesome swordsman before he died and Ryuma currently has Brook's shadow …
That's going to be one hell of a challenge for Zoro if/when he stumbles into Ryuma. Wow. Looking forward to that! That would be a fight worthy of Kitetsu2 (though we don't yet know for sure if it is that sword or not)

Ah I get it now. When Brooke arrives, he has already cut Tallaran, so he's slowly putting his sword back into his cane. It's just like Ryuma's attack, but Brooke's lasted definately more than 10 seconds before hitting.

Summary:
Nami pretends to be a MAN and Lola/Laura actually buys it.
Hildon tells Perona that Luffy was captured and that number 900 will make his debut.
Nami and the group are hidden inside bearsy. Hildon informs that there's another infiltrator: the humming swordsman. Absalom looks worried.
Franky uses the Hebii Nunchaku (Heavy Nunchaku). Long fight scene issues.
Franky and Robin are trapped in the spider's web with the spider mouses. But then, you can hear Brooke's laugh and humming a song about Bink's sake. After some talk, he uses his badass sword technique (which is, by the way, identical to Ryuuma's move). -

Franky's fights are, as always, the most entertaining to watch. I also liked Robin's eye-jab. From what we've seen recently, she definitely has no reservations about taking cheapshots. (And yeah.. more H-material right there with the cobwebs.)From the pictures it looked as though the girls were bonding Oprah-style over the eviiiils of men, with Nami reassuring that Laura is strong, beautiful and her own independent goddess. fingersnap
Buuuut, from what what people are saying, she's actually pretending to be a man.

Maybe he'll use a sword in a different fashion. We've seen Franky uses some fist based moves through out the series, but I've always viewed him as being more of a boxer, especally when you look at his JUS sprites. Maybe Zoro's will represent samurai sword skills, and maybe Brooke could represent rapier style fencing (to fit in with his gentleman apperance), though I doubt a fencer would use a move like the one he did at the end.
Anyway this has made Brooke more interesting in my opinion. I had been a bit hesitant about him but after seeing that, I agree he looks very interesting.
And I love Franky's nunchaku!
[edit] It's a shame Luffy wasn't wearing the afro in the colour spread. Would have made a nice reference to Afro Luffy in my opinion.

I think it's interesting that the color spread would seem to quiet any complaints about Brook being a swordsman too. Having both Franky and Luffy box to show their somewhat similar style of fighting means two swordsman could also co-exist with no problems.

I think that when some of the strawhats meet up with Zombie-Luffy they will tell him of his dream becoming pirate king and he will remember his dream (like Sanji did his gentleman thing) and something weird will happen.

For those whining that Brooke has no place in the crew because he's a swordsman, and that's ZORO's job!
Well Brooke's a swordsman AND a musicision, so in fact, he's more useful than Zoro.

By the way, Brook's attack was called the Yahazu Giri, which literally means "Arrow Notch Slash", but can be understood as "Way of the Warrior Slash."
However, it's probably also a pun on "hazumu", which can mean "to be lively". Brook is a skeleton, hence the pun.
Could be completely wrong on all of this, though.
