I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but in the latest chapter, Hodi says something about "the Strawhat Pirates of prophecy". So far, the only prophecy we know of that has anything to do with this arc is Madam Shirley's prophecy about someone with a straw hat destroying Fishman Island. I got the impression that the Fishman district is relatively isolated from where the mermaids reside and where Madam Shirley screamed her prophecy in the streets. What I am trying to get at is that I think Hodi paid Madam Shirley to fake that prophecy in order to create unrest between the Strawhat's and the citizens of FI, while at the same time, getting a little revenge for what they did to Arlong. If this is true, his plan is already working and pretty smart. If it wasn't for the prophecy, the Neptune Army and the Strawhats would be teamed up right now and it would be a lot harder for Hodi and gang to defeat them.

I have a strong hunch that Hodi is Fisher Tiger's son. Fisher probably told Jinbe to look after him before he died and now Jinbe feels responsible for Hodi turning out the way he did. Hodi probably has a lot of hatred and bitterness toward humans for the way his dad died, and he started to lean toward Arlong's fishman superiority jargon, much to Jinbe's dismay.

zoro is going to be fighting the swordsman fish guy more than likely… wouldn't go well with his story if he let up the chance to fight that guy.

Yeah, but i referred to the fight in the newest chapter, or more precisely the fight Hodi and Zoro are up to start. Clearly that fight will be interrupted soon and it is not major fight in this arc, not for Hodi nor Zoro.

I'm not bringing this up for any particular reason, but I just remembered back in the Arlong park saga Sanji remarked on arlong's strength saying "so this is the strength of a shark fishmen." I'm thinking that shark fishmen like jinbei, hodi, and Arlong are naturally even more than 10x the strength of humans. Perhaps the base level of a fishman even varies depending on the fish. Sharks/whales are at the top of the marine food chain. If Hodi is a great white it would make sense that he inevitably would become stronger and more vicious than others, including Arlong, as he reached a mature age. That with the military training he recieved would probably make him the one of the strongest fishman on FI. Sometimes biology inevitably determines the heirarchy of strength among fish as well as the temperament. The reason why Jinbei is more of a pacifist is because Whale Sharks are mainly planton feeding marine animals who occasionally feed on small crustaceans. Hodi probably can't resist too much against his tendencies as a vicious and ruthless carnivore.

Agree with all of this, there's nothing else to explain why Arlong seems so significantly weaker than Hodi, we've barely seen anything from Hodi yet and he's already clearly more powerful. He threw water so hard it turned into arrows. Arlong tried to jab at you with his pointy nose.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. What type of fishman was Arlong anyway. I think it was a sawfish. And Great White Shark is definitely more powerful than a swordfish. Probably why Oda was saving Great White Shark till now

On the other hand Ussop said he's stronger so that may be a way for Oda himself to let the audience know. Deep down I'm still a huge Arlong fan. For the heck of it my theory is Arlong will show up one way or another and prove hes gotten stronger in the past 2 years

Luffy vs Akainu is obvious.

Zoro vs Kizaru. The admiral aslmost killed him at shabondy. Coincidentally, he was saved by Rayleigh. Kizaru loves to mess with the vice captain of pirate crews (Marco, Zoro, Rayleigh and Ben Beckman).

Sanji vs Aokiji. Diable jambe (with Haki) seems to be a perfect match for Aokiji's ice powers. He almost killed Robin.

This is SURELY speculated before, (cant find, though) but would it be possible that Luffy/Zoro used some kind of CoO-haki while finding out about Blackbeard's "they"- thing on jaya? Like "sensing" his abnormal body build or something? Or was it just instinct, like what Luffy used to find out real mr.3 in Little garden?

I know, most people say that in Jaya they referred to BB's crew but why would they have? They had no clue who he was and if he had any crew.

Luffy, Zoro or anyone else haven't had that kind of conclusion ever after or before that scene in Jaya. So it meant clearly something. On the top of this, there is much information about BB having something odd within him, having two DF-powers and such. When Marco said to other WB commanders that "As you all know, teach is a bit different" It means that they have somehow found out about BB's atypical bodybuild. Maybe they found it out same way, sensing it. (with or without CoO, but i think that it may be the case since WB pirates are able to use haki.)

On a side note, i dont believe in any cerberus-shit-theories, because BB would have most likely used it against Ace when he had to fight for his life. Also, three heads come from same body so it is so absurd to think that he was able to eat more fruits because of that.

And, i just wondered how Luffy and Zoro sensed that thing, so i thought about CoO or pure instinct. So no reason to get in the corner, lol.

Would never have thought about it enough myself but when you say it that way it makes perfect sense, I agree. All 3 fights should be simulataneous too so they all win at the same time and the moment is just pure awesome.

Blackbeard waited a long time for the darkness fruit, my theory is that either the fruit makes his body able to absorb other fruits too OR the fact that he is a D makes him able to have 2 fruits (we dont know what the D is, maybe that's something they can do) and the darkness fruit allows him to suck fruits from the dead bodys of others into his 'D body'.

Well yes, I think the balance is too far off to be drawn by anyone who could foreshadow a new outfit for Zoro. I believe its just a fan made picture with nothing to do with the story whatsoever

No way Kizaru doesn't get wrecked down the line.

One of them is now the Fleet Admiral which opens up the possibility for another Admiral. That way both Kizaru and Akainu gets taken out but not Aokiji. He'll be an ally so its hard to envision a scenario where any of them seriously fuck him up. A fight to test their growth but not a true death match.

Sanji would then perhaps fight the third, new Admiral, who naturally is not quite as strong as the other two, thus keeping in line with the general tradition of Luffy = (maybe >) Zoro > Sanji. I agree with Ryuk that it's honestly unlikely to be Aokiji, given that he seems more likely to be on the "good" side further down the line, and the SHs don't really have a beef with him as much as people try to shoehorn him almost killing Robin into some sort of big reason for Sanji to fight him (when he actually saved Robin's life at Ohara and let her go twice later on and even told her "…Ohara still lives").

Kizaru may not have been the admiral who caused the most grief, but he certainly hindered Luffy the most during the war. I could see a showdown between the two sometime, and fight Akainu another time.

Aokiji killed Saul and was partly responsible for Ace's death. He is still loyal to the WG. If he is fleet admiral, he will have an obligation to stop the straw hats because WG must prevent them to find the final poneglyph and risking chaos. He won't take the risk and will chase them.

In the end, Robin will interpret the void century for herself and find out if it worth passing on to the future.

I'm not saying Aokiji is all goody-goody with the SHs and is on their side or something. Not at all. He's a loyal Marine for sure. But the SHs don't really have a bone to pick with him as they do with Akainu (this one's more personal for Luffy, obviously) and Kizaru; he always treated them reasonably well, he saved Robin in accordance with Saul's will and actually seemed happy for her in Water Seven. There's no compelling reason to have Aokiji fight with them and get beaten half to death by Sanji or whoever. It wouldn't feel satisfying, with how he has been portrayed as basically a good guy.

Personally I think that he'll remain undefeated, though I can see Luffy having a quick skirmish or w/e with him, and become the Fleet Admiral at the end of the series. Or maybe even the leader of the whole World Government if the Gorousei are toppled.

Aokiji is complex despite his easy going personality. If he knows that Robin's discovery could cause millions of death and turning the world into a blazing inferno. In that context, Aokiji would fight the straw hats because has a certain sense of duty. I would not like to be in his shoes. I think it would be unsastisfying if there is no resolution to Aokiji's conflict with the straw hats.

Something tells me it won't be the last time Robin and Aokiji meet. Only him can free Robin from her burden. I hope Sanji and him will make a deal to free her from the WG's absolute justice. I can see Robin seeking a peaceful life after she accomplishes her dream.

But Aokiji already let Robin go with the knowledge that she possesses. The ability to read the Poneglyphs, to indeed risk "turning the world into a blazing inferno" as you put it. But he basically trusts her to do the right thing, knowing that she has found her shade, her respite; a place to stay with friends she loves and trusts as they do her. That, I believe, was the point of this quote:

"Aokiji: Whether Sauro's decision to leave you alive…
was the right choice, or the wrong choice…

the answer to that question?"

I do agree that they will likely meet again. I do not, however, see it being in a "beat Aokiji to near-death" type of situation at all. I don't feel as if that would fit. Robin will definitely be free, but it won't take Aokiji being defeated… he isn't the cause of her grievances, is he? He was the one who said "Absolute Justice… can drive a man insane" and let her run free at Ohara. Once the WG itself is taken down - or perhaps more likely, its more ruthless leanings - she'll be free. And Aokiji will be at the right side of that, not the wrong one, know what I'm saying?

Maybe you are right as long as she is with the right people.

I think it would be kind of cool if Luffy is blocked by the 3 admirals yet again but this time Zoro and Sanji are here to help him in an epic fashion. The straw hats felt guilty for not being able to help their captain save Ace. It would be sweet.

I can see that scenario happening, but I am starting to feel that Aokiji will be the odd one out. There are several reasons for it: for one, the Admirals all seem equal, but in the M3 there is a clearer hierarchy. In this way it would make sense if Luffy fought Akainu, Kizaru fought Zoro and Sanji fought the new Admiral who's a bit weaker than the other ones. For two, as we've been discussing, Aokiji just doesn't feel like a villain. He's not a bad guy, even though he's a Marine… having him beat to near-death just doesn't seem right. And for three, I feel that any attempts at "matching" him with either Sanji or Zoro just feel forced and contrived; it doesn't come naturally at all, as Luffy vs. Akainu does and to a lesser extent either Zoro vs. Kizaru.

So overall, I think he'll sit that one out. I feel that his role will rather be to, as I said, more or less be the leader of the reformed-for-the-better WG/Marines at the end of the series.

Aokiji will be fighting the SHs… Just think about their ties with the revolutionaries now. Luffy's father is the leader and Robin had been working for him during her timeskip... whats to say she still isn't working for them? He will try to stop them at some point.

The last time I checked Luffy's straw hat wasn't ripped. Each time something happens to it he promptly gets it fixed. This makes me think of two outcomes for this prediction: 1) Luffy's straw hat will get ripped severely by an antagonist causing him to go ballistic and go ham on Fishman Island or 2) Some guy with a jacked up straw hat (Demalo Black?) will be the one to wreck the place.
