Thiller BARK, the new Skypia?

I don't know if anyone theorized about this, but i think in this new arc, TP is gonna be another arc like skypia. it is an isolated place, in the fog, with no WG there, and bounties may not mean anything, though until now we don't know if this place is totally isolated or not.

the main point i would like to adress is the relevance of this arc to the rest of the storyline. in skypia, there were the dials, there was one of those square stones that robin was looking for, and we knew something about roger. i don't know about the stone or roger, but i think that the SH's will power up there to be able to fight BB since we are talking about a strange island with strange creatures and a strange DF that even a logia user as ace couldn't win against

I don't see how Thriller Barque could be compaired to Skypia. The only purpose TB serves is that it is an island that has something to do with Brook, thus hinting towards Brook becoming the next nakama.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is just a introduction arc until the big arc AKA Merman Isle. I'm also pretty sure that unlike Skypiea, this arc will be relevant. Plus this arc could possibly be where a new crewmember joins so it will be very important to the overall plot.

Yeah, this arc is like Jaya. Altough I believe that Hogback is going to be stronger than Bellamy. And maybe badass too. I hope so.

I assure you that bounties won't get higher, as this place is sure to be really isolated, but that's probably the only thing that's comparable to Skypiea.

They won't get bounties from attacking a place no one knows exists. In fact, destroying Thriller will help the WG because they won't be killing innocent people anymore.

Yeah, it's pretty comparable to Skypiea.
The difference is that this arc is meant to Brooke alone, and might be Chopper. Which means, we MIGHT get 1) Nakama, 2) An example to Oda's ideas, and possibly hints and forshadowings, and 3) Scientific information [Chopper might know the dude, stuff that seem to be expirment, the whole shadow stealing thingy.. Yep].
Skypiea was WAY bigger. Like you said, there were alot more details. This arc is tiny, and the main arc for the saga is yet to come. You just wait.

If you mean it's a fairly unaccesseable island (like skypiea), people wouldn't believe it exsists (like skypiea) It's all about adventuring and exploration (like skypiea) and there will probably be some highly over-powered enemy unknown to the world (like skypiea).

If you take all that into consideration then yeah it's like skypiea, we'll just have to wait and see. Hopefully the main arc villain won't only be defeatable by luffy due to unforseen circumstances (rubber).

Bounty upgrades just happened, I doubt an adventure on a ghostly moving island in the middle of a haunted triangle is going to even be noticed by the World Government or anyone else, but someone might notice(who's tracking them) "hey they suddenly dissapeared! THen came back. WOnde rwhat happened…"

This arc keeps getting compared to previous arcs, even though we're only three chapters into it. So far it's been compared to Drum, Skypiea, and even the Jaya arcs? Some even compare this to Gaimon…

I don't know... I hope Oda isn't that repetitive. I'm hoping that once this arc really gets underway, that it'll better distance itself from the previous arcs…

Hamlin is his 21st experiment, hence the 21 on his forehead.

I believe that Thriller Bark will be a mini-Skyiea shenanigan within the area of Merman Island.

Or Chopper and Drum as someone said before. Though a moving island is definitely Skypiea-ish.

TB's not nearly as isolated as skypiea and it is quite probable that the one who stole Brook's shadow is on this island (because he most likely will join the strawhats and unless he gets his shadow back they can't leave that fog) - and Brook already said that fighting that person would very likely be the Strawhat's certain death.

So we will be able to face someone who is really frickin strong, definitely stronger than Wapol has been on Drum island :D Maybe we'll even meet one of the Shichibukai <3

No, Moreau's shtick was making animals into humans. All we've seen Hogback do so far is make patchwork creations (Cerberus by attaching two dog and a wolf head together, Hildon). Dr. Frankenstein dissected random animal and human corpses and sewed them together, ultimately attempting to bring a human to life from deceased parts.

Really, Hogback is your typical mad scientist, making patchwork creations and numbering them. There was someone in literature who did this, I just have to think…

Drum Isle part deux with Sasori part deux

I'm really not expecting a whole lot of fighting in this arc to be honest, maybe you get something with Zoro and a new sword, and Brooke will probably take out one of the top creations (1 or 2) with Luffy taking out Hogback himself…

Then again, I gave up predicting Oda a long time ago..so who knows what'll happen

I think it's a bit too ealry to draw such conclusions as "Dr. Hogback is definitly the main villain".

For all we know he can be a rather friendly, yet eccentric guy whom used to know Kureha some century ago and simply likes to live in Thrillerburke (I'm keeping to Stephen's translations) due to his rather Tim Burton-characteristic persona. Sort of like the Scientist in Edward Scissorhands.

if you're asking me I'd rather believe in that, then that he'd be a villain. He might aswell be the Strawhat's major ally in this arc.

I think it's pretty tough to say anything about what this arc will be like for another couple of a chapters.

And we've only just had a mention of Hogback. But of course we know everything about him already…

I see this as likely being a small arc, but a character grabbing arc the likes of Baratie, Syrup villaige, and yes drum. Brooke and Luffy are the most likely candidates to have fights at all, but if there is another fight as well it'll probably be Usopp or Zoro, depending on how long Oda plans to wait on revealing the capabilities of Kabuto.

Zoro will almost certainly get to fight something, even if it just boils down to a henchmen horde. That said, I'm going to wait to make judgment on who fights and who fights who until we're sure who the badguy is and get a good look at his goons.
