FWIW, the first HQ raw link (SS) is weird– it redirects like 3 times with "link has been updated, error #2" or something before finally getting to a valid server. The URL changes the subdomain several times. Maybe someone else was getting it at the same time? Or it was edited?

I agree. He will be like Zoros friend, Jhonny and the other bounty hunter douche. Hell stick around as a guide too help them get through that part of the sea and help him fight, and then tell Luffy that he cant leave because hes traped by a curse or some other shit like that.

Oda, you are a mad genius. Brook is already one of my favorite characters and I've only known him for one chapter. It's too bad he does seem like the "arc helper" type though, I would love to see him as a full member.
This Florian Triangle arc is shaping up to be more like a classic pirate story, and that's pretty cool if you ask me. This arc will probably be short, then we might get a bigger arc at Merman Island.

From what I remember, only Luffy only tells SH's that they can join his crew. You get people that tag along (arc-helpers) but they are never asked by Luffy to join the crew.

If you talking ships, angels, fish people, and moon people can exist in OP, then zombies and ghosts are no surprise. Just get over it and accept the fact that Brooke is a walking living skeleton.
My guess is that Brook is part of the reason most people never get through the Florian triangle.

I totally agree with that. But that's also the way people in the world of One Piece think : look at Franky. At the first time, Luffy thought he had eaten a fruit, but he was "just" a cyborg. So zombies can exist, but it's possible there's a fruit story too. But I prefer the zombie theorie.

I'm with theinvisibleworm on this : even though Luffy doesn't seem too frightened by Brooke – and Luffy's instinct is usually correct about people -- there's just too much here (the storm, the offering to God that's been ""defiled", Brooke's inability to say "no", and so on) that leads me to believe we've met our new enemy. So even though he'll be a lot of fun for a while and firendly for a while -- Brooke will eventually show us his true intentions.
Brooke may be at the entryway to "New World" in the same way that Baroque Works were at Whiskey Peak and Smoker was at Loguetown (if your goal is to sink as many pirates as possible, where better place to station yourself than at the entry to the next segment of Grand Line? [This could even be how Crocodile got the idea for placing Baroque at Whiskey Peak – after encountering Brooke himself, or hearing stories about Brooke through the other pirates who'd survived a run-in].
Brooke is probably also the key (excuse the pun) for getting through the Florian triangle without harm, so their adventures with him won't be a complete loss ; they'll get through, but they'll have to find some way to chase him off either just before, or just after they do.
So no. Brooke's design is fun and all – but I don't want another super-skinny, skirt-chasing, joke-making pirate on Sunny. We already have one -- and, unlike Brooke -- he's a first-rate cook too.
I don't think Brooke NEEDS a DF. He can just use the power of the dead.

Okay, enough of this crap about Vivi or the ship being crewmembers. Oda clearly stated that there are only 8 strawhats right now, with 7 people having joined Luffy. If Brook DOES permanently join, then he will be "The 8th Person", 9th Strawhat.
I'm not counting Vivi. I AM, however, counting the ship and Luffy, so with Brooke there are 10 SHs.
Why is some people counting 1000 Sunny as one of the crew members?

Does "no he did not" refer to Luffy asking Iceburg to join, or does it refer to Iceberg's refusal to accept Luffy's offer to join?
Because if it refers to Iceburg's refusal of Luffy's offer, then it still doesn't change the fact that Luffy asked him to join … as others have pointed out, Luffy is very casual about asking people to join his crew. The difference is in how far Luffy is willing to go to convince those people to join. For some – like Nami or Sanji, Luffy is willing to go quite far, but for others -- like Iceberg and Gaimon -- Luffy isn't willing to go very far to convince them to join.

I disagree. The WG was a major enemy in the Enies Lobby arc, but I think that they are just one of the major enemies that the SHs will face.
The WG just has secrets, and maybe they changed the world in the past. However, they currently tie with some of hte more powerful pirates in the world. The WG isn't bar none the strongest at least–they have serious competition.
We're just thinking that way cause the government tends to be a powerful force in our lives, and thus apply it to OP. However, the world in OP is so big and vast, that unlike earth, man hasn't gained full control of it yet.
And yes, too many people are trusting Brooke. While he has nice quirks, as time goes on things can change. You normally don't trust the undead.
However, I now love the idea of the SHs getting a ghost or something on the crew. Imagine how fights with a skeleton would be like....

Yeah, we haven't seen him fight, but I know he'd be a blast to use in Grand Battle.
On a side note, I'm suprised that noone has said anything about Brooke's laugh. He has his own unique laugh, so maybe theories of him being the villian are true. Which would suck, 'cause he'd be a great Straw Hat. I bet he plays the xylophone on his ribs.

But once we entered the grandline, we get a talking half human reindeer, a woman who can grow multiple body parts and is only one to read the ancient text, a cyborg and now a skeleton!
