Sorry Batdan but I thinks its time to start a new tread for it. The other one is filled with post. So we can start a new.
Disscuss.

General complaint of One Piece being ignored for Naruto and Bleach
I don't know, the latest Jump was released and the old thread was all over that before I could get over there…
I sort of think Viz could yunno start going towards the Funi's path, once again calling Zoro "Zoro" and lay off the pseudo-swearing once in a while. Perhaps up One Piece a chapter once in a while...
face-palm The other thread is no where near full. There's already a set limit of posts for every thread, and until that thread reaches to that point, this shouldn't be in existance.
lockplzkthx?
the fact that I feel amazed when it comes out 2 months after the last volume and that the next volume doesn't come out until february kind of pisses me off. Seriously, it shouldn't take 4 months to translate a volume.
I'm sure it only takes them a few weeks to translate an entire volume. It just takes that long to publish all the chapters in the magazine. They probably have all the initial copies of the Graphic Novels ready to ship a month before they're actually released.
Wrong topic.
On topic: Uh, I'm planning on getting volume 19 this weekend…
Picked up Volume 19 the other day. I just find it ironic that it comes with a Bleach sticker. I didn't know that that Slam Dunk was selling better than One Piece either.
Plz don't yell at me and be mad if someone has already said this but….
Naruto is now getting released every month and a half SRY

Seems like Viz is really eager to get to where Japan is.
^probably, it's their cash cow, thanks to CN and viz's good advertisement.
Even when 4kids had one piece, they didn't advertise when they released crap. So that would probably explain all the poor sales and what not.
One piece needs advertising, I'm quite sure there are STILL people who don't know funimation dubs one piece now. I'm just saying, a bigger anime fanbase might add to manga sales.

They do. I actually remember finding volume 15 a month before it was supposed to come out… And that was in an import-store in NORWAY. I still don't understand how they managed to get it so early, considering how they seem to take several months to get just about anything else.
Well, I picked up volume 19. It seems that they're now using 'crap' as a substitute for 'damn'. Kinda odd. I do like how Viz has started the habit of putting one of (or in this case the only) the volume's colorspreads on the back cover so that we can see them in all their colorful glory.

They did that in Little Garden too. Sanji said "Welcome to the Resturant le'Crap" or something like that.
I was actually referring to a line by some random Alabastan during the buring of Nanohana. Out of nowhere came a ''That crap king!''
gaddamnit - I always forget I don't have my page count on default.
@ontopic: Man, that line sounds lame - and VIZ has come up with some pretty lame sideline lines.
I needs to return my Fairy Tail (accidentally bought one I already had) volume for Volume 19. I hate our new Borders though.

is there manga collection poor?

Got the volume myself a few hours after you mentioned that. Yeah, that line did sound kinda lame.
At the same time, I also picked up D.Gray-man volume 3, and… Damn, Viz's quality control was bad. If I'd gotten a dollar for every time they misspelled someone's name in it, then I would propably be able to afford another book at the same time. Like, do they have some sort of policy saying that "Every character-name must be spelled wrong at least once" or something? (Specifically, they kept switching back and forth between "Lenalee" and "Linali", and they also said "Rabi" in one of the question-corners. It was the first printing, though, so maybe the later ones aren't quite as inconsistent.)
Their Fullmetal Alchemist drives me up the wall because they can't seem to just stick with a name. For example, they started out using Kimbley, then Kimble, then Kimbly, and now they seemed to have finally settled on FUNImation's Kimblee. They've also changed Ling to Lin, Mei to May, Olivia to Olivier, and Dublith to something like Dabriss. Not to mention starting out with Ishval then changing it to the more common but most likely erronemous Ishbal two volumes later.

I read on Wikipedia once that Viz was extremely inconsistent with the names in the early volumes of D. Gray-man, but around the middle of the series (so volume 6 or 7, I guess) they settled on names. If you'd gotten a more recent printing, it probably would have been consistent, as you said. And names in D. Gray-man are hard because sometimes Hoshino picks what seem like the stupidest Romanizations possible.
is there manga collection poor?
It's just crowded and awful. It recently moved to the mall, and it used to be in a nice, big, spacious building with two floors. Two steps into the new place, and I sweat from all the stored body heat because it's so congested. I hate it.
Manga selection is the same so far as I can tell, but that doesn't make up for the horrible new location.
Yay my borders is being annoying now to. Since I moved last year I hate it. The old borders was great, I got DeathNote vol.12 In mid May (came out July) and they were always stocked.
New borders sucks. They had a big spacious area, now its in the tiny corner of the store next to the piss smelling bathroom.
So If i want to get anything the day it comes I got to go to DAMN BanB which sucks also.
I'm pretty pissed off at Borders. well, barnes and nobles too, but more borders. I've gone to Borders for Hunter X Hunter 22 eight times, and it came out last september. It still isn't in stock actually they never ordered it for some god damn reason, and no matter how many times I've called or politely asked them to order it, they never do. I'm about to order it offline.
Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, and Chopper are on the cover this month as the main features.
More to come as I read.
Must be making up for lost time.
November issue should be out, right? For some odd reason, I can't find it at the usual places.
Must be making up for lost time.
They gotta be pushing some sort of OP related product for it to get the cover like back in the March issue with Unlimited Adventure.
Edit: Well I guess not. They just randomly put OP on the cover.
Here's the cover. Also, that Yu-Gi-Oh card in the front is the actual card… It's not part of the artwork.
VIZ is recognizes OP's existance? :0
And hopefully everyone can stop complaining about Viz ignoring One Piece for a little while, now.
It is definitely sweet to see it get that recognition.
Woah, I've never even seen that piece of artwork before! It seems kinda awkward… Hopefully this is the start of more OP covers, but I doubt it.
It's from this issue:
2004-43.
To me, it feels awkward because it's not at all in the style of the current chapters in the american Jump.
Chapter wise, it corresponds to #337, which is the Luffy/Franky/Galley-la fight in volume 36.
Also, Zoro looks a bit more long-necked and dogfaced than his usual self, hahaha

Yay
(16 yays).
The concept of that artwork was done before! Somewhere on the first side around volume 17 till 22, I think. Luffy stretches his arm and reaches over the title while the others are somewhat surprised, or are worried, or what.
But Sanji's face is priceless in that Jump cover.
I just think it looks oddly drawn, even for Oda.
Agree with the Buuhanster above me It does look at little odd to me
xD yay, after 9 months One Piece gets a cover shot again! Hopefully we'll be seeing other Shonen Jump characters appearing on the cover, like back when Shonen Jump was first starting out in 2003. I like the cover, only the background doesn't look similiar to last month's or the other months. Hm, must be something new they are trying, it reminded me of the old issues for a second xD. I wonder how many chapters One Piece gets this time.
yay. One Piece on cover.
Next issue we should get Shoe on Head.
You know what, everyone? Even I would look at someone with my mouth gaped wide open in awe if I see them try to punch an exclusive Yu-Gi-Oh! card with unrelenting prejudice. :ninja:
^ That's funny. I didn't even notice their reactions.
Yeah, it's like "Oh my God! That rubber boy has it in for that card something fierce!"
I don't collect the ASJ magazine anymore. But damn, One Piece got a cover!
I'm not celebrating until I see another one.
Wow, something to look forward to purchasing and ripping (in case of the Yu-Gi-Oh card) next week!
Geez Viz, do something like you did with Naruto, I want my One Piece without having to go on the internet.
I like my Borders… More than one shelf of Manga... Just wanted to throw that out there since there was a mini-Borders discussion a bit back, I'm new to the store because it just opened...
My Borders has 4 whole shelves front and back of manga.
And only volume 8 of One Piece :P
My Borders has two whole sections for manga, and at least one copy of each One Piece volume.
My Borders eats your Borders for breakfast.
My has every single volume of one piece and has over 10 selves of manga.
But im not talking about Borders.
Geez Viz, do something like you did with Naruto, I want my One Piece without having to go on the internet.
It would be sweet to see 3 volumes of One Piece released every couple of months.
That would be cool. But that may never happen.
it would be cool to see 1 volume of one piece released every month, LOL
