if you've seen the latest episode, then you know that kuma's voice has been shown, what are you guy's thoughts? for a first impression, it seems too light, it needs to be deeper to me, what do you guys think?
Kuma's Voice
-
-
His voice creeps me out.
-
I like it, it has a "I'm gonna a wreck you so easily, you'll be retconed out of existence" feel to it.

It's a good voice
-
Sounds good. Sounds a lot like a psychopath who likes to play mind-games, which considering he does the "Where would you like to go?" thing, fits him pretty well.
-
Hmm, I was expecting his voice to be deeper, but I think the VA pulled off the tone of his voice very well.
-
Kuma sounds… Like Laffite.
-
It sounds pretty good. I was expecting something a bit deeper.
-
not what I expected but sounds good.
-
Sounds great to me! Perfect creepy tone to it.
-
I was expecting him to have a kind of robotic sounding voice for some reason.
-
I expected hm to either to have a really deep voice like a Shoop da woop voice especially for his mouth cannon. XD. But I like his voice. Its different and unexpected but suits the character. Just like how Moria's voice makes him sound kind of like a demon. Kuma creeps the bejeepers out of me though.
-
I like it but it's definitely not what I was expecting.
-
I like it! It's awkwardly creepy. Just like the vibe I get from him.
-
i think it sounds fine. just come to be familiar with it like the voice of moria. imo it did't suit him atfirst then later i found it really nice xD
-
For me, this voice sounded nice to me. Perhaps one octave deeper, but not too much… or... turn on your subwoofer...
-
Sounds awesome and creepy!
Loved it!

When Kuma was first introduced years ago, did he not speak? I remember him talking, and not sounding at all like what he does today.
-
I don't think it fits him at all, but I guess I'll have to get use to it. :/

Nope, I think his lines were given to either Sengoku or Doflamingo. As for my thoughts, I had imagined his voice to be similar to Empty, the character in my avatar, which is a slightly deeper version of what his voice currently is. I'm fine with it, though.
-
I wanted him to have a voice like Blueno that would have pretty epic but I guess this one works too.
-
It fits him, a calm voice for a calm dude.
-
-
I'm not that fond with kumas voice. Generally i find the anime lacks deep bariton voices.
The calmness is there, but someone named 'bear' and looking like a giant barrel should have a deep, deep voice imo. :L -
Yeah, they kinda did the same thing with Sauro, giving him the same voice as Trunks/Sakuragi Hanamichi.
-
The voice fits him well. I wonder how badass will he sound when he's on rage mode!

Nope,in the manga he did,but the anime studio, being the chepskate it was on theese things scraped that out-in that vry same episode, they edited out ALL of Tsuru's lines giving them to "Mr. Random Nobody" and when the Gorousei showed up,they only had two of them speak, though in the original, all five of them spoke.
That was one ep.
-
Yeah, one line.
I really don't blame Toei for choosing to NOT hire a voice actor, drawing the matching mouth movements, synchronizing the mouth movements with the voice and incur all the expenses just for one line to not have that voice actor for like 5 years!
Seriously, sometimes a little common sense is necessary.
Are all those expenses really worth one line? Does that make them cheap or realistic?
-
Needs moar BASS! He sounds like a butthurt bishi.
-
LB-well,they neednt have done the movemnts-just make a closeup of the eyes of something-plus they made one extra scene with the whole face closeup anyway.
Im sure ,if not all,at least some of those people should have had a VA.Its not that they dont change them abruptly anyway-John Giant had two-and Onigumo, during the one arc where he apears, during the span of a couple of episodes is voiced once by some guy at the ship blowing and then all the other times (most scenes after that, except two,are added) is voiced by someone completely diferent. So guessing which is which is also nice.
-
There's still the matter of finding a VA and paying for the expenses all for one line?
Totally not worth it.
-
Just my two cents, I'm tired of all the thunder-voiced anime villains. I'm glad they continue to give voices to the characters that perhaps not maybe what many of us imagine, are somewhat unique. I hated Franky's voice and….well....even though I certainly can still imagine someone else doing it, the VA has certainly made the role his own.
-
I have to admit after watching the newest episode i feel better about kumas voice.
Just gotta get used to it i guess. :J -
I know and agree-I find it a litle weird, though that normal people, females, who are not as near big as him, have voices almost like men in reality.
-
Suits him to a T. Wonder how he'll sound in English.
-
Hmm, I need to start watching the anime again.
Wonder if there're any clips of it…
EDIT: Wow, I saw a clip and I was really surprised. All in all though, it fits his gentleman-like nature. Still, I was almost certain they'd go with a deeper voice.
-
I did imagine it being deeper but it's grown on me after watching it more and more. I suppose he can afford to be that relaxed though.

He only had lines in the manga, not the anime.
