Since someone mentioned Buggy, I'm going to ask again…where is he? To avoid all the danger amongst this chaos means he has to be some kind of genius, or he greatly improved his crew.
Of course, it's also possible he's someone else in the Grandline. Still, Buggy's got to pass this point sometime if he's chasing the Strawhats.
-
Wow. What an incredible chapter.
I honestly have no clue what's going to happen next. There are so many ways that Oda could take this story. I have to praise his genius for even coming up with all the things that he does.

yeah, we havent seen buggy or Krieg for a long time in the series.
and same goes for Alvida. havent seen her in the series for a while too. -
Ech, Krieg?
I can live without.
It would be cool to "go back to the past" and meet some of the old enemies, but there's a time where a series meets new people.
You don't expect to always meet an old villain after a major event.
Buggy, Alvida, and the rest can wait a little bit more, now, let's just move on with the story.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if Oda went to a little comic relief soon. So for Buggy and Alvida I like the idea of Perona joining them lol. Also the path Buggy is taking in the GL isn't the same as Luffy he had have to get an eternal pose to meet up with him on an island, we could expect to see him at Gyojin island(if we ever see that place).

While I'm not a Buggy enthusiast, I'd assume he's gotten enough experience traversing the GL that he can get around with a certain degree of stealth.
Alvida should still be with Buggy.
Kreig is no more, what reason do we have to see him again? I'll get stoned for this, but Usopp could probably take him out now ^_^I saw someone suggest that Kuma transported the SH crew to Vegapunk and while I'd like this possibility, so far, at least to me, it seems that vegapunk is very much on the WG / MHQ's side and is trying his best to aide this side in deposing of the troublesome pirates in the world.
I've also seen suggestions of Fishman Island, and I believe this would be a total cop out by Oda, so I really hope this isn't their location after deflection.
Same as Impel Down. I don't think we'll be seeing a magical Ace rescue. Especially after we just saw how the SH dealt with multiple strong enemies all at once. It wasn't pretty. Also, is Ace even in Impel Down anymore? And if he is, and WB is coming to rescue him, wouldn't the security there be ever greater now that they know WB is coming. It just seems like it would be a waste for the SHs.
-
This was an UTTERLY POWERFUL chapter. All the emotions, all the everything!!Every page was exciting!!!! I LOVE ONE PIECE!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Kuma saved them, though. And if Freedom said the truth, how will the SH's ever get back to the Sunny?
BTW: IS it me or is Brooke always joking? And does this chapter feel like Movie 6 to anybody else? Also, is Ace even in Impel Down anymore? What HAPPENED to Ace? How did he get caught? Stupid question, I know, but how did the battle actually end?

As someone said up in this same page, I think there's a high possibility the Movie 10 is linked with what happened in these chapters.
If that is so, then, perhaps… we'll see some years pass by before the SH crew gathers once again. However, by then, they'll sure be a pretty strong and "experienced" crew.
Either way, seeing as Movie 10 show us "aged" Strawhats (or at least, that was my impression), I do not think this is an unlikely possibility.
After the cliffhanger Oda gave us in the end of the last chapter, I do really wonder if this will happen. Definitely, I'd like it. It would seem more real, to me, They're still pretty much too young to conquer the Grand Line...

like dark world in ff6?
so are you thinking there will be a time skip? or that the crew will gradually be reunited after many chapters?
i think theyll all be reunited next chapter. but i would rather it be gradual…

Yes, I am thinking about a Time Skip. If it will be the next chapter, or if Oda will show us the outcomes of WB vs WG battle first, I dare not to say.
However, I firmly believe that, if the SH's are aged at the Movie 10, then they will age on the manga as well. I believe it'll be for their own good, too.
This way, Oda wont have to pull out more powerleveling in a brief time into the Strawhats.
It should also explain why Kuma said those last words. Probably he doesnt expect to live for a long time, now.
My idea is that, if my hipothesis come true, the aged Strawhats will find themselves in a world lacking balance. Blackbeard will already be famous to the point of being considered unmatched in the OP World and his name will strike awe in most Pirates' hearts.
I think it should be way more gratifying to see the SH's in the "future" world, when the great happenings we see right now will be all in the past, and they can develop a new legend, having experienced defeat once.

I stopped reading at "time skip"
Then I decided to give the post another chance but then I saw "hipothesis"
No aged Strawhats.
-
I sort of like the time skip idea. I mean, I'm sort of afraid of taking such a huge chance, after seeing what happened with Naruto ( I mean, it actually was pretty damn GOOD before the timeskip)… but on the other hand, I would like to see if Oda could pull off the time skip brilliantly, and make it really worthwhile.
-
there's not going to be a time skip you dummies
its whitebeard time
-
A timeskip would be kinda cool if pulled off well.
Here's hoping we get some insight on the Supernovas or something.
-
Oh, come on people! There is going to be no time skip.. In three days, the whole crew will follow the biblicards that Rayleigh gave them and get back to the ship. Atleast most of them will (I'm doubtful about Zorro )

ok so the chances of a timeskip is unlikely.
whats the chances of all the strawhats being seperated then?(not groups, as in alone) -
How do the vivre cards work?

i'm still curious about what has Kuma whispered to Rayleigh in this episode.

probably will find out this week or next.
and if the chances are great for what I said.. oh boy:sad:. i wonder hwo each of the 9 characters will survive on thier own and how the chapters/pages will deal with this, or will it maybe be a Cover arc that we see them?

No aged Strawhats.
You take too much for granted. Take a look at the trailer and tell me if the Strawhats do seem the same for you as they are now. Luffy most certainly do not, he does seem taller and older.
Either way, trying to ignore a possibility isnt too wise. Even if Oda does not pull any time skip, I will still believe that it should have been the logic thing to be done.
Think about this a little bit - do you see Luffy, at his current "kid" age, to be seen as a "Pirate King" or anything similar? At the age of Shanks, maybe, and he's young.
I certainly believe there will be a time skip at some point of the series. They simply cannot "conquer" the New World and reach Raftel in 2 years (OP time). People as the 4 Younkou are there for a huge amount of time. And now you say the SH's will just get stronger than they in such a short time? It seems even more unlikely, and unlogical.
The fair thing to do is to age the SH's a bit. They'll get maturity from their loss.

Oh ye of little faith. They are the main characters. They aren't affected by time constraints.
-
I wonder where each and every member will end up. XD They'll probably get back together using Rayleigh's vivre cards, that'll put those things to use. =P Even Zoro should be able to follow the direction of a piece of paper, unless the wind blows it accidently in the wrong direction. xP

Just adding my two cents here…
A time skip seems unlikely- like Zkaiser said above, they're the main characters, and Oda's series has never been one too closely bound to logic or likelihood. The thing that Oda continually emphasizes, however, is the romanticism of One Piece. Going Merry being the "one more nakama" that saved the Strawhats in Enies Lobby, the Gold Bell ringing out so loudly that people across dozens of kilometers could hear it, including ones dozens of kilometers below it, Pell surviving the blast in Alabasta and the rain mysterious drenching the land as soon as Crocodile was tossed through the air, and even Luffy's ability to get into the Grand Line despite having a minuscule crew and little experience are all a testament to this.
Luffy and his crew will, likewise, rebound from this romantically instead of going through a few years of hardening themselves and growing stronger. Oda also avoids those kinds of arcs (training arcs, as people call em around here) and instead emphasizes the natural growth of the crew that just gets stronger from being in so many dangerous situations.
And I always wonder why people say that Raftel must be hard to find or that the Yonkou can't get there or something. I always kind of figured that the Yonkou either don't care to find One Piece, or already know what it is. Whitebeard and Shanks are naturally the only two of them we've seen, but Whitebeard probably doesn't care about One Piece because he seemed to be Roger's biggest rival and if Roger's dead, he doesn't have an extreme motivation to claim the treasure. Unless it's an antidote to whatever is killing Whitebeard (which I doubt as it's probably the same disease Roger died from), he probably won't care.
Shanks probably already knows what it is, or has enough of an inkling that he's not really motivated to go to Raftel and claim it. I doubt the Yonkou are incapable of getting to Raftel or anything like that- they just never strongly express a will to find One Piece. I think Shanks said something about it passively once but that's about it.
If the above turns out to be true, then the Strawhats really don't have to worry about becoming that strong in such a short amount of time because all of their goals are possible to complete going around the Yonkou... The only person that's assumedly of Yonkou Level that the Strawhats will have to defeat is Mihawk, or, well, that Zoro will have to defeat. And Zoro is the only character that wouldn't need a time skip or training arc because he trains in every arc and moves his skills up inside and outside of battle (wonder how Sanji and Luffy keep up with him... Maybe if Zoro didn't train he'd be weaker than Usopp, lol).
.... Okay maybe that was my 2 dollars.
-
Its not that hell be weaker than usopp lol, I think he just progresses many times more while in battle. shishi sonson/Poundo Hou/tatsumaki/ Ashura, etc. He all learned them when he was in extreme situations while in battle.
As for the time skip, no way. I think mihawk, and all the other powerful dudes have been at their level for quite some time. At some point you just stop progressing. -
I was scared this would happen, the only way to go is down when you introduce so much stuff happening. I'm sorry if people are going to be offended but to me this is very unlike Oda. Everything he does in the manga usually has a purpose, but… this is just odd. Kuma has been their deux ex too many times now. If he wanted to do a training arc there were better ways I feel. Though people will love it for the fan service alone so whatever.
-
Everything he does in the manga usually has a purpose, but…
We still don't know where Kuma sent them and why. It wasn't useless, we just don't know what happened yet. And who said anything about this being a "training arc"?
Many things happening at once is one of the reason that one piece is good. Oda can give us answers, raise new questions and even give us cliff hangers all in the same chapter.
-
fuck man thats two weeks in a row the spoiler thread got locked.
-
Wonder if we can make it a record…
-
Wonder if we can make it a record…
just how did the thread get locked?
and is there by any chance Chopper or franky ended up with Vegapunk?
-
I wonder how the upcoming chapter will turn out…..
Well, not long till we find out even though it feels like forever. -
I'm not quite sure about this but.. someone says that Kuma did this on Ace's request as "last desire"… Which means he is gonna be executed at Impel Down...
-

Exactly HOW would Ace know of the SHs current condition or whereabouts? or that an admiral would be after them? or did he assume Luffy would hit a noble?
If his last request was save my brother I'm pretty sure Kuma did that back at TB. I mean during that time was the only time Kuma even mentioned Ace and asked about the relation between the two.
If Kuma said he did this cuz Ace asked it better have more baggage to it. Kuma better be in league with Whitebeard and planning something Kuma-ish.
-
I just thought of something. Maybe this coming arc, Robin and Chopper will finally get their number chapter and another member will get their name and placement chapter.

Finally, a post that makes sense!
-
…Should I be afraid?
-
If you say anything that makes sense here at AP, you stand a fifty/fifty chance of being flamed to hell and back, or worshipped like the second coming.
-
I think that this was all a plot by Kuma to make the WG save a whole ton of face. Whether he did it to save the Straw Hats (about 50-50 in my mind), to the public eye, the WG has removed a major obstacle and a threat to their image.
Think about it. The last panel has those two message blocks that tell us the time and place of the incident, and then tell us that "the 'Straw Hat Pirates' were utterly defeated". Almost like a newspaper article or something. And think about it, the WG completely mopping up the Straw Hats? Taking down the infamous pirate crew that took down a Shichibukai (only the one, to the public eye), gained an obscene bounty in a matter of weeks or months, and SURVIVED A BUSTER CALL? For the WG to say they have forces to utterly defeat such a crew is is a major feather in their cap.
-
I don't have much to say about this chapter 'cause pretty much everything has already been said and the next chapter is also released so… But I just felt the urge to quote some things. (Eventhough anyone might not be reading this topic anymore but...)
The only thing I can imagine Robin doing is creating a giant arm like she's done before and punching someone with it. I'm sure that there's more that can be done, but I'm not creative enough to imagine her in a traditional one on one fight. Plus, her powers make her very vulnerable in that situation. Cut off an arm, she loses her real arm and so on. Thoug she was somehow able to stop a cannonball in Enies Lobby…
Not true. She just feels the pain.
Well, actually she does get somekind of wounds if someone cuts the parts she crew. Here you can see some blood when her hands guarding the gate were cut. Although we can't be sure if she gets all the damage that are inflicted on limbs that she crew.
I think Shanks said something about it passively once but that's about it.
I agree that Shanks might not want to find One Piece that bad, but Ace said that he is going to make Whitebeard the pirateking so that implies WB does want to be a pirateking; why would Ace want to make him a pirateking if WB doesn't want that himself?
Taking down the infamous pirate crew that took down a Shichibukai (only the one, to the public eye),
Actually majority of the public doesn't know that either; Smoker and Tashigi got all the credit of taking down Crocodile.
