i respect ur opinion but Oda could pull of a single person arc without making it boring
I wholeheartedly agree. In fact he has done this many times before. You may remember some of them as Buggy, Coby, Django, Hachi, Wapol, Ace, Gedatsu, Miss Goldenweek, Ener & CP9.
Okay, so why do I not want to see him in the main story (although I think he'd make for a wicked splash page mini arc)?
I think it would cheapen the bold move Oda just pulled. It would be way too cliche to just give us an answer or outright spend time dealing with him while taking away from the rest of the crew. The opportunity he just created for himself in removing one of the crew's most dangerous membersis (wait for iiiiiiiiit)
A game changer.
But why Greg?
Because even though it's GIVEN that the crew will always win, Oda is throwing tougher and tougher opponents their way. Please note that he had some fun in Thriller Bark. In other words, he's giving us villains that get tougher, he isn't adjusting them to the current level of the crew.
That said, they NEED a Zoro.
WHOOPS! ZORO'S FUCKIN' ENTIRELY OUT OF THE EQUATION!
So what does this mean for us? The fans? It means Oda using his imagination and thinking up unique and exciting ways to overcome said challenges/obstacles.
Now next chapter we could very well see all of them whisked away to the same place I DUNNO! But I love the opportunity this situation presents. What's even more exciting is that this isn't some Robin situation where we might question loyalty, motives, fragility, etc. Zoro is Zoro. Zoro wants to work with Luffy so long as they cooperatively work towards their goals. If this DOES pan out to be an extended scenario, it doesn't seem likely that we'd be subjected to a 'rescue arc'. I think it would simply be brushed off as, "Zoro's tough, we'll run into each other again." And one day out of the blue, BAM!
I'm ecstatic over the possibilities this presents for fans. It stands a great chance of being something entirely different as soon as next week, but I've got my fingers crossed!
