Awesome chapter,I wait for Kuma vs Kid
Chapter 505 "Kuma" Discussion
-
-
To everyone saying that it's not Kuma. If Kidd recognizes Kuma as a shichibukai without being introduced, wouldn't he know about the troops looking like Kuma as well?
Wouldn't he notice that he was missing the bible and therefor assume its one of the clones?
I find the replica idea extremely silly.
I find it doubtful that everybody knows that Kuma is an uber-cyborg, thus the idea of Pacifista troops would also be somewhat hidden to the general public/pirates. Also, wouldn't everybody (except for most of the SHP) know who the Shichibukai are and what they look like as common knowledge?
The two red flags that I noticed from 'Kuma' are the absence of his Bible and (as of yet) no DF power. True, they're very minor differences based off of a one-page panel of the guy and chances are you're probably right. But, I think a small platoon of imperfect 'Kuma-bots' facing off against some of the Supernova's would be bad-ass chapter.
-
Loved this chapter, Kid is awesome. The very definition of badass in my view. Hope Kid does fight Kuma, and hopefully win, probably gonna be a draw like other people said though. But then like other people also said, they may not fight at all. Either way aslong as Kid is still alive, I don't care. xD

does law have the devil fruit powers or his sword
i know law has a magnetism friut but whats up with law -
@RPG:
i know law has a magnetism friut but whats up with law
Deductive reasoning should do the trick.
-
Haven't been on in forever, but ahemm…
Regarding Kidd's "zombie" mate,
I actually don't think he's supposed to be a zombie chap but more of a voodoo bloke, which would explain his ability to breathe fire and all that, because voodoo doctors usually have more magic powers than zombies
-
i'll throw it out now…
Rayleigh is Franky's father...
Come now if anyone is Franky's father its Dr. Vegapunk.
-
OK, I've been forced to rethink my idea of Law's power. His ability seems to be twofold. Anything within his "Room" can be sliced up by his sword at any distance, and he can then transposition any objects within the room. If he cuts up a living target, it isn't damaged, and can be transposed whole.
and that's the extent of my knowledge of his power. It's some weird spacial control, combined with the weird ability to cut people without killing them.
-
someone should make a poll on who you think will win
Kidd or Kuma.
That way we can see who all the idiots are that think Kuma will win. Yep I think your all idiots if you think Kuma will win. I'm throwing that out there and if I'm wrong ready to take all the heat for it.
You know the old saying about 'don't assume,' It'll just make an ass out of U and me! Wow, is that bad. But kind of nifty how I avoided all that, huh?"
-

I assume he slashing the space where they are not them. Basicaly there still one perfectly fine person (unless there blown up by a cannonball) just in two places at once. After all the marine's head was able to tell he was hot from the fire. Like a RC car at the edge of it's range. It still works, but the control is very iffy.
-
I agree with the idea that thats not Kuma himself, mostly due to the lack of the bible. Its his most distinct trate so lacking it is very very odd.
Kidd's power is obviously some kind of magnitism. Making an arm from all the surrounding metal. Repeling a metal cannonball ect.
This also makes it seems like he'd be auto-win vs. any pacifistas, considering there not non-magnetic metals.
Law's is such a cool weird abilitie.
I'm a bit curious though as to weather he actualy needs the sword to cut, given how it seems to work more like buggies abilitie, as opposed to actulay cutting.
-
Kuma vs Kid huh? sounds good if thats the case, if Oda keeps pumping out chapters like this, I can wait calmly for Whitebeard vs the Seven Armed Seas and flashback between what happened between Shanks and Whitebeard. Heck it makes One Piece feel like a Battle Drama Manga again.:)
-
I'm sure it was mentioned somewhere already, but yet another famous pirate name to enter this arc. This Shabondy arc seems to be full of it.
Jean Bart, the corsair!Wow, Oda's not pulling any punches anymore.
I wonder if we'll continue to see this trend into the New World. -

Kuma wasn't carrying the bible vs the strawhats after he took off his gloves.
Presumably he leaves it behind whenever he expects a (somewhat serious) battle. -
I'm still unclear on Law's power, is it the ability to rearrange all objects in his "ROOM"?
-
That's what I figured. He can change around anything within it.
As for Kuma showing up, this makes me wonder. At a time like this, I can't think of anything as to why he would shop up here and now. I really don't think he really wants to fight Kidd, but maybe talk to him and relay a message. But that would seem kind of weird for a Shichibukai to be running around like this when they've been called at such a time. Truly, even more interesting developments occur.
I'd also like to say that Kidd's power looks pretty cool. Magnetic abilities, that's what it looks like. And knowing Oda, he's going to use it in a lot of awesome ways like he just did.
-
Though it has already been descanted, I can't help but be excited for how this will affect Luffy's reputation. I'm almost positive that we'll see Dragon commenting on this
-
Dunno about that, Wagomu; I think the Whitebeard incident will get more coverage.
-

Presumably he leaves it behind whenever he expects a (somewhat serious) battle.Actually, he has it right before he fights Zoro, right here. It disappears two pages later though.
-
Ironic that Luffy ran from Thunder Tempo.
Luffy running because everyone's running. As for Kuma, I'm among those who wish that it is not Kuma the Shichibukai but Kuma-bot. I mean ol Terminators model all look the same, why not One Pieces cyborg squad.
-
-
Actually, he has it right before he fights Zoro, right here. It disappears two pages later though.
Which one could attribute to him becoming serious.
True but what else could it be? :wassat:
Dunno.
He could have deflected her size.
He could have tossed her 500 meters out to sea quicker then Nami could percieve.
He could have eaten her really really fast.
He could have deflected light around her and knocked her unconcious.
He could have deflected her cells in different directions disolving her.
He could have instead of moved her through space, moved her trough time or dimensions. There are litterally dozens of possibilities.
-
I was wondering when Jean Bart would show up. Put down another pirate whose name Oda has used.
I still think Law is modeled after Ned Low the butcher. Would make the most sense.
-
I love the scene where we see Law, Kidd, and Luffy's crew mates all kick ass, but at the same time I hate how it makes them seem a little less significant then their captains. It doesn't help that in some panels they're drawn smaller.
With the scan I notice that Kidd destroyed the bridge behind them. Is that a hint that there's no running away? If they're implying that there's no running away, then cool! We have great chance for a real fight here.

The sixth option probably is the most likely of the six you mention since it would be cool if that happen since it means that she lived at normal size and is still conscious as well.

Well, for one thing, a crewman of Kid's said that the Marines were still following them despite the bridge being destroyed, so it shouldn't be a problem for the SH if it's not a problem for the Marines. And for another thing, the SH have Franky, who can create a bridge out of materials lying around in 30 seconds.

It seems likely that Kuma is could actually just be a pacifista, possibly one of the many in the troops that Kizaru was hinted to have brought along. I could also see Kuma being dispatched to individually take down Raleigh, assuming Garp would've requested it.
But now that I think about it, considering the huge preperation for Whitebeard's retaliation (and the fact that the Marine base is RIGHT THERE), Kuma could have been called to the island/base along with the other Shichibukai because Whitebeard is about to arrive there! That could be why Sengoku was worried about Kizaru being gone to deal with the Tenryubiito mess, as he could've been the first Admiral to report back and Sengoku would've liked a trustworthy Admiral (as opposed to the former pirates Shichibukai) to aid him against Whitebeard. Also why Kizaru would've assured Sengoku that he wouldn't take too long.
Man, if that is the case and the Whitebeard/Shichibukai battle takes place during all this, Fishman Island is going to be the most pushed back arc ever.
-
Assuming Kidd can attract metal, and Kuma is made of some sort of metal, I expect some yaoi fanart.

Wow, Oda's not pulling any punches anymore.
I wonder if we'll continue to see this trend into the New World. That would be bananas if Oda road it like this, all the way to/into the New World, but something tells me that it wont be like this for long.
-
@Fire Fist:

Where do I go to learn more about famous pirates?
Particularly, where's Jean Bart?

I think you are forgetting that these guys (Shichibukai) do as they please regardless of what the WG says or asks of them.
-
I think you are forgetting that these guys (Shichibukai) do as they please regardless of what the WG says or asks of them.
Well according to Moria, Kuma's the one Shichibukai who's truly loyal to the WG.
-
That true since Kuma agrees that they are dogs of the world government too.
-
Well according to Moria, Kuma's the one Shichibukai who's truly loyal to the WG.
Yet Kuma still didn't follow the WG Orders.
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/490/07/
I think you can leave the "truly loyal" part behind, like I have said before these guys are Shichibukai they do as they please regardless of what the WG order. -
Well according to Moria, Kuma's the one Shichibukai who's the most loyal to the WG.
There fixed it for you.
-
Well according to Moria, Kuma's the one Shichibukai who's truly loyal to the WG.
Moria also said hes the most unpredictable Shickibukai.
The others are expected to be unruly and rebellious. He just randomly does his own thing, clearly at the most inopportune times for the WG.
-
About Kuma beeing on Shobondy. Kizaru is coming with a problematic troup. What if that troups are the shichibukai? The Shichis would like to get a little warm up before fighting WB and some rookies on shabondy will do it. Next chapter will be the apperance of another shichibukai and in the end we have luffy fighting an admiral and enough SN
s to fight some Shichibukai. Maybe Flamingo vs Law, which would be awsome, but I can
t see zoro fighting mihawk already. Of cause, if some shichibukai loose here on shabondy, that would tigger a great incident, because WB surely wins then and we have great shift in the balance of power. -
I don't think the Shickibukai would be called troops and instead would be call Shickibukai of course.
-
I don't think the Shickibukai would be called troops and instead would be call Shickibukai of course.
That and most of the shickibukai would scoff at the idea that fighting some rookies would be considered a warm-up while the others would understand the rookies aren't to be taken lightly and save their strength for WB's crew.
Kuma clones and now Shickibukai. If they were like Kuma they'd be lesser pirates turned into Cyborgs not bibleless Kumas, though I doubt we're gonna see that. Troops are just going to be extra tough fodder like the jailors and other special marines seen during the raid on Enies lobby used to give us glimpses of what other Super Nova's can do.
-
The pattern on Law's trousers is the same as the pattern on Kuma's hat O_o
-
@VL7:
The pattern on Law's trousers is the same as the pattern on Kuma's hat O_o
And Shakkys pants are the same pattern as Kaku.
I bet Kuma and Law have clothes made from the same zoan's skin. But that there are no deeper connection.
-
It probably the same clothes designer.
-
I want someone to ask Oda about this in a SBS so he can tell us about all the different clothing brands.
-
Just because they have leopard print… doesn't mean they all shop at the universal One Piece leopard print store. And there's no way in hell all the Shichi's are taking a pit stop where the rookies are. I hope that was a joke.
Edit: And since it seems Kidd can ATTRACT along with REFLECT, whoever sees a Kuma vs. Kidd fight has to see Kidd reflecting his Paw attacks back at him. I'm curious to see what will happen. ^ ^

all kidd shown us is the attraction and reflection of metal
no other materials
so kumas air bombs won't be stopped by kidds abilities

Excuse me, the SH? I'm talking about Kidd's crew.
My point was that, I think this little "we destroyed the bridge line," which I saw in the scanlation now on onemanga, is a hint from the writer that they won't run away.
Back to the chapter, this one seems to have established that Kidd and Law in addition to being strong men also have capable crews, making them on par with the SHs in many ways. So…I'm expecting a special resolution to this Kuma and Kidd conflict.
Frankly, that "it's a pacifista who looks like Kuma" seems like the best option since Kidd can tear it apart without harm to his character or even Kuma's, and it explains that comment on what Kizaru was "bringing with him." It all fits rather nicely does it not?
-
Just because they have leopard print… doesn't mean they all shop at the universal One Piece leopard print store.
Its the Spots-and-dots-for-pirates store originating in North blue:happy:

Ah, sorry about that. I misunderstood what you were talking about. Yeah, you do make a good point; Kid might regret destroying that bridge.
