Now, why not blow this old topic back to life?
I'm native Estonian. Besides that, I know English (semi-sucky spelling skills and semi-fluent talking from the years on net). Also, I know Germanese, which I learned thanks to… Japanese animes, which I watched daily on RTL2 + 3 years of study in school. I can hold daily conversations in it, and understand what people are writing (once again, I lack of spelling skills).
I'll keep my hopes up to learn more in near future.
-
English,
Can understand American to an extent,
Bits of French,
Bits of German,
Bits of other stuff. -
Besides English, I can speak Spanish and my home language-Filipino.

I can speak spanish and english, and I can only read enough spanish to know what going on and can't really write spanish
-
I speak english and little japanese and read a little japanese only the characters names
-
Well, I am fluent in English, of course, and mildly fluent in French.
Parlez vous francais?
-
Read/speak English and Japanese. ;]
Aside from that, only a little spanish… -
I'm fluent in "American" (damn your jokes, Local) and I can read Spanish due to taking it for 3 years in high school… although, I suck horribly in speaking or understanding it.
-
I can speak, write and understand English, Greek, French and Spanish.
I can read and understand Italian, but I can't write it/speak it.
I have very very minor knowledge in Portuguese from an ex girlfriend, but it's not worth including 5 total. Oh, I don't know if dead languages count, but technically I can also read/understand ancient Greek. -
Read/Speak : English, Chinese (Mandarin/Taiwanese), Tagalog
Learning : Dutch, German, Japanese -
French and English.
-
Besides german (native language) I am rather fluent in english (who would have guessed this) - thanks to the "Lord of the Rings" and later the Interweb this one got saved quite well from my schooldays … the funny thing about it is that I never had any chance to use it in everyday live (not even a holiday), it´s a shame.
My french has surely suffered a lot during the last years. Although I love the country (and spent several extensive holidays there) I never became quite as fluent as in english:sad: - it´s on my to do list if I ever come to have some real spare time again. Just recently I realized that I can still understand french subs - made me smile.
My spanish, well I guess it´s gone for good, I never had any real use for it.
-
im Deutsch (but it's fading fast from lack of use)
po-Russki (written only – I'm helpless without my slovar')
en Espanol (my new neighbors speak it, so I use it more often than before)and, of, course in English
-
Read, write and speak English
Read and speak Urdu.
Can understand languages that are reall similar to Urdu.
Read Spanish (who can't?) -
I know Portuguese and English, and I'm planning to start learning Japanese soon.
-
Well I'm of course fluent in Finnish, and I know some English. I've also been reading Swedish (compulsory) since the start of junior high, but I seriously can't hold a simple conversation such as buying some ticket in Swedish, and I never will.
-
My native language is Spanish and I went to a bilingual school since kinder so I am fluent in English to the point that it can be my first. I'm actually more comfortable reading in english than in spanish.
-
English and Japanese. :)
I kind of want to learn Portuguese… o_oa
-
Due to my father and grandmother constantly talking in French (and the fact that I see my grandmother twice a week), I can understand a whole lot of French in context. It's hard to explain, because I know very few singular words, but I can definitely understand what's being said in a conversation even if I have to piece it together. I can't read it, write it, and God I can't speak it (my French cousins often give me a hard time with my pronunciation when I try after hours of their coaxing and wheedling), but it seems I can understand it.
Besides that, I have high school Spanish under my belt (read: absolutely no useful Spanish) and, unless I'm horrifyingly mistaken and nobody is kind enough to tell me, I think I can speak and write English.

This post is deleted!

Fluent in french, which is actually not that common among the french youth today, can hold a conversation in english and read spanish. I also have notions of occitan.

Let's see.

-
Read/Speak : English, Chinese (Mandarin/Taiwanese), Tagalog

I speak/read: Dutch, English, German, French
Read: ancient Latin ancient Greek, Spanish, Portugese -
I'm from Finland so naturally I speak Finnish. I can imagine foreigners having a tough time if learning my native language, since Finnish is almost completely different in spoken and written forms. I heard from somewhere that Finnish is the second hardest language to learn, but I don't know if that's true. :wassat: I'll admit that the Finnish grammar is a real pain in the ass sometimes, though… Ah, off topic again. Swedish is still compulsory here and for me it hasn't been hard to learn so I can speak that too as well as English. These are the three languages that I can read, speak, write and understand.
Apart from things I've learned at school I've studied Hungarian and Spanish in my free time. I kept on going to Hungarian lessons for the whole course, but Spanish wasn't that lucky: I only attented two lessons. I couldn't continue my studies in Hungarian, but in my opinion it's the most beautiful language in the world and I will start it again one day.
-
I'm pretty good at English compared to people my age here, although far from good. I know a little because of manga and chat, so I can't think of "street language" with too much shortcuts and the normal talk. Does that count as fluent English?
And Hebrew. Learning French in school but no way near good, we barely get a 10 line text that's meant for 6 year old children in France. And I quit learning after the end of this year, so yeah.
I can watch and understand a full Japanese raw episode from easy animes like OP, Major, stuff like that, but no more than that. =D lol
2 languages it is.
-
I mainly speek English, but am also learning Japanese (learning Katakana first). I'm better off reading Japanese than actually speeking the language.
-
I'm a native speaker of Swedish, and i'm pretty good at English.
I can understand both Norwegian and Danish if it's talked slowly and I know a little bit of French, and a few words of Japanese -
I'm fluent in English, and I speak/read a good amount of Spanish.
-
I speak fluent English, I can keep a basic conversation in Korean, and I know a little Spanish. I'm not eligible to become a translator but I know enough.

-
I speak Finnish (since I'm Finnish), then English (though I understand it a lot better than I speak it), I can understand Swedish pretty well, but I'm not confident enough to speak it properly, I've studied Japanese for about 3½ years now, I can read simple stories/manga and understand anime.
Then… I've also studied German for five years now. I'm not too good at it.
That's five. -
English, Al Bhed, and Mandarin Chinese (only on Tuesdays)
-
